test. test. test. this is cbs-3 "eyewitness news" this morning. flea teenagers are shot overnight in the grays ferry section of philadelphia. we're live with the detectives as they try and uncover more details about the shooter. >> panic at one of the largest and bus years airports. passengers were sent running at lax after report of active shooter. turns out no shots were fired, but we'll tell you what authorities led to the scary moments. and, storm scan, shows center city this morning, and the wide of our area, temperatures are going up today, and for much of the week, justin is here with your monday forecast. well, good morning everyone, today is monday august 29th, i'm jim donovan. >> hey, there i'm brooke thomas. we're getting your day started with a check on weather and traffic. we have justin in here hanging

out with us for katie. meisha, good morning, thank you so much, great to be back, guys. we'll let you know we have water main break on the boulevard right now, still active with a couple of accidents. >> final days every august, guys, it will be still feeling like july, cranking up the heat, 90s, still humid. some changes that we have something for everybody on tap this upcoming week, this morning, all is quiet. okay commute as far as the weather goes. clear skies right now, looking at center city, no problems, temperatures right now 73 degrees, so little warmer than yesterday morning at this time. wind has shifted direction out of the south, 6 miles per hour, so that's going to bring back some humidity through the afternoon. there is the temperature difference compared to 24 hours ago, anywhere from two up to 9 degrees warmer compared to this time on sunday morning. and winds pretty much less than 10 miles per hour right now. more of the southerly wind today, so that's going to help boost the temperatures back up into the lower 90s for hotter humidity levels. few clouds will roll this later this morning into the

afternoon, weak cold front will pass on by, but really doesn't change up our weather whole lot. on our way up to 91 degrees this afternoon, average high should be in the low and mid 80s, shore still in good shape. we'll have plenty of sunshine, nice breeze off the water keeping temperatures there at 84, heads up, still strong, rip current potentially throughout the next few days, poconos, high temperature up around 80 degreesment we'll keep the hot stretch going through the rest of the month, we will be talking about some changes, on the way for labor day weekends, and i think you will like it, so check out the forecast coming up in just a few more minutes. but let's head back over to meisha for a check on the latest road conditions. good morning. >> good morning, justin, great to see you. what we're looking at right now, take a look at this, water main break boulevard southbound between ridge and kelly drive, and the exit, see the right lane blocked, you can still see the water clearly still active pouring down on the roadways, clearly right lanes blocked, crews are out, there this one will certainly pose a problem with you as we push through, i

would say, starting in the 5:00 hour, gaper delay in the 65:00 hour, still active like this, really going to slow you down specially with the amount of water still coming out. boulevard southbound before ridge avenue, kelly drive exit. make note of. that will also, around this area, yesterday, at around 2:00 p.m., overturned tanker truck. route 30 westbound near business route 30, clean up still underway, crews are out, there see flashing lights, probably blocking a lane. can't get close enough to tell you which one, bye i'll let you know will slow you down little bit as well, then the vine not closed overnight for the construction, so schuylkill, the vine out of the schuylkill, looking really good, eastbound, westbound, all open. also, an accident wynnewood, wynnewood at men owe a roadment back to you. >> new this morning, chaos breaks out at lax after report of a shooter. people were seen running from the terminals at los angeles international airport, officials briefly cleared everyone out and grounded all flights during the

investigation. fortunately, authorities say, it was a false alarm, caused by allowed noise. they didn't find a shooter and no shots were fired. right now, travelers are dealing with very long lines, as you can imagine, flights are delayed. >> gunfire in philadelphia's grays ferry neighborhood sends three teenagers to the hospital. >> police are hoping surveillance video will help them solve the case. "eyewitness news" reporter jan carabeo is live at south detective to bring us up-to-date on the investigation. jan? >> brooke, jim, good morning, police are describing what happened in grays ferry overnight, as a shoot-out. when the dust set recalled, three teenagers as you mentioned were hit and injured, had to be taken to the hospital. two of those teenagers are 16 years old, one of the teenagers 17 years old, again, they are all taken to the hospital in stable condition this morning thankfully all expected to survive. take a look at the video this morning, chaotic scene, police

say exchange every gunfire, three parked cars hit by stray bullet, at least 12 spent shell casings at the scene, now, at this point, police don't know if the victims were hit by stray built or were somehow involved in this shooting. they hope surveillance video will help sort all of this out. investigators have found private cameras, at a business nearby the shooting scene, also found police real time cameras about a block away. this all happened at 27th and tasker street, just after midnight. when police arrived, they found 16 and 17 year old shot in the leg, they also found another 16 year old shot in the back. they were all taken to the hospital, again, in stable condition this morning. as police investigate, reminding neighbors these teenagers should never have been outdoors to begin with. >> they are under the age of 18. they're juveniles. they're not adult. so, therefore, they have to adhere to the curfew rules, and they should been in, should have been home. these rules protect people not only from committing crimes, but they protect individuals

from being victims of crimes such as these three juveniles. detective are investigating, and hopeful will he we find out why and who committed this triple shooting. >> at this point police do not have motive for the shooting. they do not have description of the shooter or shooters. they do say one of the suspect may have left the scene in a white older model car possibly nissan. anyone with information is asked to call police. we're reporting live outside south detective this morning, jan carabeo, cbs-3, "eyewitness news", jim, brooke, back into you. >> thank you, jan. police are investigating after a toddler was hit and killed by an s.u.v. in west philadelphia. >> this happened just before 7:00 last night on the 4800 block of marion avenue, in the city's west park side section. police say a mean rory darted out between two parked cars, hit by white chevy trailblazer. >> for sure, i don't even think the lay i actually saw

him until it was too late. >> we know he did run out in the street. so, you know, it really wasn't her fault. >> paramedics took rory and his mother to children's hospital of philadelphia where he died a short time later. the driver of the suv did stop, and is cooperating with police. >> meanwhile, in camden, new jersey, the reward being offered in the killing of a eight year old girl has grown now to $50,000. right now air brush artists are creating memorial shirt, free of charge, in honor of gab re he will carter. gabby struck by stray bullet last week and later died. owner of the shop will give memorial shirts to anyone in the community who wants one. >> camden county police are investigating a fatal crash in sicklerville. eyewitness video captured the aftermath sunday near sicklerville road and chews landing road. police say the car went out of control and hit a pole and the impact through the driver out of the car.

a man who was standing nearby described hearing the crash but did not want to be identified. >> just heard allowed screaching, the tires, sounded a little something like err. , and then boom, boom, boom, boom, boom. >> so far no word on the victim's identity. >> well, democratic runningmate, tim kaine, will maple campaign stop near bethlehem on wednesday. and donald trump is starting a media campaign blitz in pennsylvanian several other swing states. as wendy gillette reports, the trump campaign used the sunday morning talk shows in a attempt to clarify his stand on illegal immigration. >> donald trump's campaign manager told john dickerson on cbs "face the nation" the republican presidential nominee has not changed his stance on undocumented immigrants. first. >> first, still no amnesty, secondly he is build that wall. that has been the centerpiece, his vision from the beginning, it has not changed one begin

what has seemingly changed is trump's position on what will happen to an estimated 11 million undocumented immigrants, currently living in the u.s. trump's original plan laid out in november, called for a deportation force to help send them out of the country. but, in recent days, his campaign team has talk about what they've called a more humane approach, though they say trump's views have not shifted. >> what you heard him describe there in his usual plane spoken american way was a mechanism, not a policy, and you're going to hear more detail in the next two weeks. >> on the democratic side the chair of the party defended hillary clinton after trump called her a biggot last week. >> donald trump has not held an event in the black community. he has not gone to a black church. and hillary clinton has done. >> the democratic presidential nominee spent the day fundraising in the hampton's, trump held no public event. wendy gillette, cbs news, new york. >> days after sparking national controversy, in his

>> the us coast guards says two boaters alerted them in plenty of time to rescue the men after their boat renee grounds, and before their situation got worse. this is video shot by the coast guard saturday night near little egg inch atlantic in galloway township atlantic county. the coast guard chopper lifted the men from their 36-foot cat ma and, they were not injured but were checked out by emergency personnel anyway. mission accomplished, for six scientists who spent the last year pretending to live on mars. the scientists left the simulation yesterday. they were actually living in hawaii inside a dome and could only go outside if they wore space suits. the simulation was the second longest every it kinds, simulation in russia ended in 2011 after 520 days. >> nasa scientists are check out the newest photos from the juno spacecraft, flew past jupiter this weekend, research

officially at the airport, 70 up in chalfont, even the suburbs feeling some warmth this morning, quakertown yesterday you guys were in the 50's at this time. now in the mid 60s, same deal mount pocono. little band of clouds offer to the north and west. that's actual cold front that will try to pason through later today, doesn't have a loft moisture with it, doesn't have a lot of cold air. so looking for cool temperatures, not going to happen. first depression, the one closest to right now, tropical depression eight west northwest, 10 miles per hour, forecast to become a tropical storm maybe in the next 24 hours, or so there is would be named hermine if this does happen before the storm in florida it stays off shore being then moves back off to the north and east, just really will do, maybe bring few more clouds, obviously, just keep the rip current threats elevated really over the next several days. colds front passes through today, maybe stray shower, that actually helped keep the depression off shore over the next few days, as it moves off to the north and east
