impact remains, so our concerns this noon, about tidal flooding and dangerous rip currents. >> let's get first look at the forecast with meteorologist, katie fehlinger live on the cbs-3 skydeck, hey,. >> just the remaining issue we have to deal with. the problem is it won't be going away necessarily super quickly because this is a storm that is essentially stuck. it doesn't have anything to push it away, not making its very own movement, nothing much more than 3-mile per hour movement right now. so 3 miles per hour, you could easily run that far in far west than an hour. so, keeping that in mind, it is a very, very sluggish system, as gee on out to the map here storm scan3, cloud cover granted being thrown back inland, might see shower at the shore, but generally precipitation way out to sea so starting things off on dry note on land anyway but still coastal flood alert we have to tell you about. it was a warning, now coastal flood advisory, but still for all of the exact same areas. so every delaware beach, every

bay area, every coastline or shore point at the jersey shore, also, affected by this. so couple of more high tide cycles need to come in before we can say okay we're pretty much done with any tidal flood concern. regardless dangerous rip currents, still a concern the rest of the day, very rough surf, very high sea, storm just stuck couple of miles away, and it will continue to churn up that sea, and of course, the possibility of beach errosion back on the shores. currently temperatures mid 70s across the board, but we think lower mid 80s here today. with some sunshine, but hermine thankfully still well off shore still providing those coastal impacts. will continue for few more days. >> thanks, katie. with hermine still impacting shore conditions this labor day, few beach-goers out this morning in ocean city. even though swim something still prohibited because of dangerous rip currents. crews will be out today scooping up storm debris from the beach area. our anita oh, live in ocean

city along the jersey shore right now. >> reporter: good afternoon, brooke, it is cloudy, it is breezy out here in ocean city, still shaping up to be relatively nice day, although the concern seems to be this incredibly rough surf, if you take a look at the ocean now, you can see that the current is very strong, the water has risen a lot since we were here yesterday. this water is still flows, and beach officials are urging everyone to stay out of the water, due to the dangerous rip current. however, we've seen some surfers testing the tides here exactly what officials are saying not to do, lifeguards say under no circumstances should anyone be going into this water because in a moment these rip currents can sweep you under. so many instead are hitting the board walk, although zombies owners tell me their sales have definitely take answer hit, some as much as 50% this holiday weekends because of the threat of hermine. i spoke with state emergency management officials. they tell me downgrade from the level three to level two in terms of their operations.

they expect to be down to normal levels one this afternoon, but at this point, there have been no reported injuries, or major power outages. that's the latest here in ocean city, anita o, cbs-3, "eyewitness news". >> thanks, anita. rip current are also a little threat farther north in ocean count. >> i reporting from seaside height, where people have been devastated by storms before and they are concerned about more flooding now. >> along the jersey shore overnight, hermine whipped up strong waves. at sea, the choppy waters rocked this royal caribbean cruise ship headed from new jersey to bermuda. >> when you see crew on cruise ship, starting to get dusty, you know it has gotten pretty bad. >> derrick one of around 6,000 people on board this ship, during the storm. >> maybe 1:00 o'clock a.m., the whole boat started rocking, people started getting sick. they started distributing

vomit bags around. >> storm made landfall last friday as category one hurricane. it is already hammered coastal areas, stretching from florida to virginia. knocking out power for hundreds of thousands, causing widespread damage. it is now targeting the eastern seaboard from maryland to massachusetts. >> we've been doing this almost 30 years, seeing the sunrise, ya, on labor day. so we're here no matter what. so this hurricane is nothing. >> governor chris christie says hermine won't come close to having the same destructive power as super storm sandy in 2012. still, he is urging people not to take any chances. >> we don't want to see people have injuries or loss of life because of going into the ocean in dangerous conditions. >> hermine regain hurricane strength, but the worse of the storm pretty much over and continues to move off shore. jericka duncan, cbs news, seaside heights new jersey. and delaware sussex county

is no longer under a limited state of emergency. governor jack markell tweeted hermine's impact on the first state was minimal. the ocean was off limit for swimmers in rehoboth beach. but that didn't stop some people. the beach patrol tells "eyewitness news" they rescued young man after he got caught in the rough surf. >> it is not worth getting too close to the surf right now. it is just too powerful, too dangerous, and it will do what it wants to do. it doesn't care about you being a human being. it will suck you out, may take your life. >> officials warn the ocean still too dangerous for swimming in delaware. >> labor day, you know, the traditional end to summer, is also the day to remember those who fought for the rights of work. every year the afcio holds the tri-state labor day parade. >> our greg argos joins us from penn's landing to tell us who stopped by to join them, greg, good afternoon. >> good afternoon, i can tell you that basically all of the city's major labor unions are

right together. >> really cool. so many things, is there anything normal about the ben franklin parkway? >> never know who will show up to all if i sport. >> but yes, no kidding. so true. but, you know there is weather pattern, it definitely is atypical, i would say, this system, this hermine, it is strange, just the way it is panning out with the way the pattern is, so, you know, luckily we started the proverbial bullet on this one, do have the system out there providing obviously a lot of chappie surf as we've been reporting throughout the course of the show, but, at least it wasn't a direct impact, so, that's a bit of god news. but here is the thing, we go on out to the satellite loop there is continues to sit and spin and it will make some movement. but very, very minimal movement. now, we go off to the south, and let me get on over the wall, i'll pinpoint the next thing we're keeping an eye on, thankfully also not expected to have any major development in the days ahead, but this cluster every thunderstorms

moving west of the lesser antilles, expected to continue its track west, and at this point we don't anticipate it will make any curvature and move up our way but it is the next thing we are watching, approaching the height of hurricane season after all. here is the latest on hermine. it has got whopping 6-mile per hour movement right now, to the northwest, so it is starting to shift little bit. and notice, it starts getting pulled back in, then it will recur of again. although then it is taking couple of days, taking until thursday before that even clears cape cod. so it is a sluggish little guy, and it will continue to just sit and spin and keep that surf very turned up for the next few days, meanwhile we are going to eventually be tracking a cold front, way back over the northern high planes right now, that's still couple of days away, but by the time it does hit us doesn't look like it bridges a heck of a lot of moisture with it, see what it does in the seven day, not much, actually see the opposite take place, we warm up from here. let's bring it back to the here and now, wave heights impressive, up and down the

northeaster cone line, you got anywhere from fine to pushing 15-foot waves, just at the off shore buoys. so that again, that's really really strong surf. which is why many of the ocean waters are closed right now, we really want you to heed those closures, okay, high risk for the rip current, remaining, right through the middle part. week. see looking at the surf outside beach patrol headquarters look like the beach patrol guys are watching it unfold. i don't see anybody in the water. again, it is very, very dangerous, and you could get pulled out by rip current very easily with this kind of surf. outside we go, though, to our local area here, in philadelphia. just outside our station headquarters, feels like 76, actually is 76 degrees, so very comfortable outside. even despite couple of clouds, we're at 53 on the dew point temperature, very pleasant at worse talking 55, maybe 57 for the dew point today. so it is very, very comfortable. good hair day, say for the breeze out there. we look forward in the forecast, starting to heat things up, headed toward
