it feel so much worse. the good news is that if there is a silver lining to a september heat wave verse july heat wave sunsets earlier, temperatures start dropping just a bit sooner in the afternoon. you can see taking a quick look at temperatures last hour was 95. we have trooped 3 degrees in the past hour and that should ease things just a little bit in the next couple of hours. ninety-two well above average. ninety-four in trenton. ninety-four in reading and lancaster. as we said all summer that is only half of the story. you have to factor in humidity. dew points in the 70's making it feel like triple digits at cross vast majority of the the viewing area 102 is what it feels like right now. feels like 103 in millville and feels like 106 in dover. heat advisory has been extended until 6:00 tomorrow for vast majority of the region. highs in the low to mid 90's tomorrow, heat index values in the triple digits. coming up we will tell but the chance for thunderstorms tomorrow, more heat on sat take and when heat finally breaks, that is all coming up when i join you inside.

"eyewitness news" reporter anita oh is live in camden with more on that, anita. >> reporter: it still steals hot and humid out here. that led several school advertise tricks in our region including camden, trenton and reading to dismiss students earlier today but that decision left some parent with mixed reactions. two days into a new school year, and. >> it is too hot. >> it is unusually hot. >> reporter: that is why camden city schools announced 1:00 p.m. early dismissal for all public schools on thursday. >> some buildings are over a hundred years old and we have to make sure students are safe, and students with as marks students with other conditions that we need to have have top of mine. >> reporter: although they had to adjust their schedule many we spoke with, agreed with

in new castle where tractor trailer crashed and spilled millions of blank pennies on to the highway. just hours later there were more traffic headaches for drivers in the first state, another tractor trail are crashes on the very same highway. now two crashes happened at several miles apart and caused backups just as long. "eyewitness news" reporter alexandria hoff is in new castle will to see how evening commute is fairing, alex? >> reporter: well, ukee, traffic right now looks pretty typical for the early evening commute, hours, perhaps headaching up for a not so typical jam up today. if there was a penny for each moment of frustration felt on i-95 in delaware today one might have around 5.6 million of them. that is how many unstamped pennies a tractor trailer was carrying when it lost control and overturn in the northbound lanes near 295 split just before 2:00 a.m. sending 40,000-pound of copper wafers down the highway.

>> how about that, alex, thank you. female student died from a self inflict gunshot wound after shooting and injuring another student at a high school in west texas. shooting started this morning at alpine high school in alpine texas. that is a town of 6,000 people about 220 miles south east of el paso. the motive for shooting is unclear right now, federal law enforcement officer who responded to the scene was shot in the leg, when another officer's gun accidentally discharged. high school in pittsburgh went into lock down after a shooting outside. police say a 17 year-old teenager was shot outside a convenient store and then ran in the school. he was treat by nurse until paramedics got there teen is in serious condition at a area hospital. four juveniles were arrested. police want a home invasion robbery in northeast philadelphia last night. investigators say 19 year-old forced open the front door of the home in the 2,000 block of oakmont street. he then pistol whipped a male

the next couple days and settle overhead into the saturday and push through on sun take and that is when we will get relief from this extreme heat. ninety-two in philadelphia down from the the day time high which will be likely 95. we briefly hit 96 that would tie record for 1939. ninety-three in allentown. ninety-four in reading, lancaster and trenton. atlantic city 93. ninety-six in palmyra. ninety-three in quakertown. here in doylestown we are sitting at 95 and it feels hotter. look at this dew .74 degrees dew point. reminiscent of the heat we felt in august and late july with dew points well up in the mid 70's, that puts us in the insufferable range. it feels like a steam bath outside. there is a breeze, that helps just a little bit and as i mentioned earlier sunsetting soon are means those high temperatures fall off faster then midsummer but still right now feels like 102 here in philadelphia. tomorrow at the height of the afternoon just a couple degrees cooler on the heat index feeling like around 100. today is hottest feeling day

of the next few days but you know once you get a heat index of 100 or triple digits it is negligentable either way. dangerously hot. but when you you step outside. not a whole lot, and we could use rain and tomorrow we have sunshine, storms this is to the north, and straight one late afternoon and early. then on saturday more cloud then sun, generally dry day, saturday night is when the trent pushes through with the chance for shower or thunderstorm, behind that we will drop the heat, and things get a whole lot better, for sunday. we have two full days on steamy night to get through before any relief arrives. tonight's low is 78 degrees, warm and steamy that hit or miss shower or thunderstorm, tomorrow hot and humid again 93, record is 94, and that is that old record that was set this 1884, 132 years ago, and depending how much sun we see we have a chaps to tie or break that record tomorrow.
