>> three bear sitings this morning, have left people in radnor township a little shaken this noon. >> well, "eyewitness news" reporter rahel solomon live in bryn mawr where one school has been placed on lockdown. good afternoon, rahel. >> reporter: good afternoon, brooke, jim, outside of ice on elementary. take a look behind me, you can sort of see the center of the activity this afternoon. you can see radnor township police car down there, also see if it is positive to zoom into those wooded areas you can see some officials out there. now, this is where a radnor township employee just told me that he came face-to-face with a bear. i asked him what it look like, he said appeared to be a juvenile. we take you now for an air val view to police activity in the wooded area as well as behind the school. radnor officials telling me within the last few weeks they have seen at least three to four police sitings reported by different neighbors in this area. that will township employee that i spoke to short time ago, again, when i asked him what it looked like he said it

was a juvenile. this is how he said he end countered the bear. >> we didn't see anything. i saw guy caught g -- cutting grass, i said to the guy cutting grass don't go by the woods, there was bear siting. and couple minutes later i was just sitting here on my car, he popped out, just looked around, big field i guess, decided to turn around and went right back into the woods. >> now, according to radnor's website, it there has been increase in bears in pennsylvania in recent years, so we should expect more human contact with the bears, but again, as we heard from the township employee, the bear didn't seem too concerned with him. they do not appear to be inherently dangerous, meantime, iceon elementary school, just spoke with official, said the lockdown went into effect around 10:00 this morning, you can see, if we can take a look where the playgrounds is compared to the center of activity this morning where that employee saw the bear, that it is quite close.

so it is very alarm alarming for officials, kiddos during recess being so close to where a bear was cited this morning, they tell me that the lockdown will probably stay in effect until dismissal today. radnor township police say they do expect to be here for dismissal to help parent out to make sure the kids get out of school safely. dow hope everything will be back to normal tomorrow. as far as the bear is concerned, i'm told the game commission will likely try to place a trap, they've not located the bear yet. they'll try to place a trap and hopefully safely get this bear out of this highly populated area. reporting in bryn mawr, rahel solomon, cbs-3, "eyewitness news". >> you're right, that seems pretty close. thanks for that information. police are searching for the suspect who they say opened fire on another man this morning in west philadelphia. chopper three right here over wyolucing just after 9:30 this morning. police say someone shot a 25 year old man four times including twice in the chest. that victim was returned to

presbyterian hospital. he is listed in stable condition right now. former itt tech students are getting the chance to go back to school. >> they could be back in the classroom as soon as next month. all four locations of itt tech in our area closed earlier this month. all day today community college of philadelphia is inviting former students to meet with their admissions department, up until 5:00 tonight. ccp's fall term starts october 4th. the state of north carolina has been in hot water over their stance on same sex bathrooms. and this morning, it all boiled over. the ncaa has made the decision to pull seven championship events from the tar heels state. cbs news correspondent kenneth craig with the latest. >> reporter: ncaa says its decision to pull seven college championship events out of north carolina is direct result of house bill two, state law, that opponents say allows discrimination of lgbt people. >> fairness, and inclusion, are right at the heart of what the nca does, what
