>> three bear sitings this morning, have left people in radnor township a little shaken this noon. >> well, "eyewitness news" reporter rahel solomon live in bryn mawr where one school has been placed on lockdown. good afternoon, rahel. >> reporter: good afternoon, brooke, jim, outside of ice on elementary. take a look behind me, you can sort of see the center of the activity this afternoon. you can see radnor township police car down there, also see if it is positive to zoom into those wooded areas you can see some officials out there. now, this is where a radnor township employee just told me that he came face-to-face with a bear. i asked him what it look like, he said appeared to be a juvenile. we take you now for an air val view to police activity in the wooded area as well as behind the school. radnor officials telling me within the last few weeks they have seen at least three to four police sitings reported by different neighbors in this area. that will township employee that i spoke to short time ago, again, when i asked him what it looked like he said it

was a juvenile. this is how he said he end countered the bear. >> we didn't see anything. i saw guy caught g -- cutting grass, i said to the guy cutting grass don't go by the woods, there was bear siting. and couple minutes later i was just sitting here on my car, he popped out, just looked around, big field i guess, decided to turn around and went right back into the woods. >> now, according to radnor's website, it there has been increase in bears in pennsylvania in recent years, so we should expect more human contact with the bears, but again, as we heard from the township employee, the bear didn't seem too concerned with him. they do not appear to be inherently dangerous, meantime, iceon elementary school, just spoke with official, said the lockdown went into effect around 10:00 this morning, you can see, if we can take a look where the playgrounds is compared to the center of activity this morning where that employee saw the bear, that it is quite close.

so it is very alarm alarming for officials, kiddos during recess being so close to where a bear was cited this morning, they tell me that the lockdown will probably stay in effect until dismissal today. radnor township police say they do expect to be here for dismissal to help parent out to make sure the kids get out of school safely. dow hope everything will be back to normal tomorrow. as far as the bear is concerned, i'm told the game commission will likely try to place a trap, they've not located the bear yet. they'll try to place a trap and hopefully safely get this bear out of this highly populated area. reporting in bryn mawr, rahel solomon, cbs-3, "eyewitness news". >> you're right, that seems pretty close. thanks for that information. police are searching for the suspect who they say opened fire on another man this morning in west philadelphia. chopper three right here over wyolucing just after 9:30 this morning. police say someone shot a 25 year old man four times including twice in the chest. that victim was returned to

presbyterian hospital. he is listed in stable condition right now. former itt tech students are getting the chance to go back to school. >> they could be back in the classroom as soon as next month. all four locations of itt tech in our area closed earlier this month. all day today community college of philadelphia is inviting former students to meet with their admissions department, up until 5:00 tonight. ccp's fall term starts october 4th. the state of north carolina has been in hot water over their stance on same sex bathrooms. and this morning, it all boiled over. the ncaa has made the decision to pull seven championship events from the tar heels state. cbs news correspondent kenneth craig with the latest. >> reporter: ncaa says its decision to pull seven college championship events out of north carolina is direct result of house bill two, state law, that opponents say allows discrimination of lgbt people. >> fairness, and inclusion, are right at the heart of what the nca does, what

universities do, and so for our university president this was the proverbial no brainer. >> house bill two requires trans gender people to use public bathrooms, corresponding to the sex on their birth certificate t also excludes gender identity and sexual orientation from anti-discrimination protection. state republicans called the ncaa decision on surrounded, and silly. >> i don't know what the ncaa, doing, but certainly not standing up for the privacy and safety of their athlete. if they were standing up for the privacy and safety of their athletes they could care far more about the women being raped by bail or football players. >> in july, the nba announced it was moving the 2017 all-star game from charlotte to new orleans because of the law. state democrats fear more fall-out. >> having the worse anti-lgbt law in the nation on the books is deadly. further north carolina economy, for tourism, and for our continued ability to host critical events like ncaa

at this point. the last day that we actually had measurable rain was september 1st. that's when, or rather, so far this month, we've only had just shy of half inch of rainfall to actually report. that is at philadelphia international airport. so it has been somewhat of a dry month, thus far anyway. don't see any deluge type rainfall coming our way. any time super soon. so, again, we're not in a dire status right now, but we could use the rain, that's really it. storm scan3 pretty quiet, nice area of high pressure locked in place, we do have area or rather a frontal boundery more specifically and eventually it will be crossing through our region tomorrow night specifically. but i have to tell you even this looks as though the brunt of the moisture will bypass us to the north here. take a look what happens in future weather. so, starting to moisten up the atmosphere first and for most. tomorrow does turn steamier, hotter day, see that in the seven day, but here is the next chance for rain. notice heaviest moisture, i mean, way removed, all the way up toward maine, atlantic canada, we might see couple of showers or thunderstorms out of this. even over the course of time, see how things fizzle out?

you go from seven p.m. to 10:00 p.m. might be shower or storm in a few spots. otherwise a lot of you might not see drop of rainout of this mainly tomorrow evening, tomorrow overnight. then by thursday high pressure back in place for couple of days. meanwhile we turn the focus to the tropics. tropical storm ian has been swarmed, if you missed that memo. meanwhile does not appear at this point like this storm will have any kind of direct threat to land. so, bermuda in the clear, atlantic canada in the cure, definitely good news, we will keep you posted if that should change, but the update we like to give if you things are brewing in the tropics. no clouds in the sky. beautiful live picture outside middle township high school cape may courthouse currently 73 degrees. little warmer everywhere else. almost like 78 through 80, magic number, the magic range that we have across the board right now, slightly cooler but still very comfortable at mount pocono, currently at 70, do expect we'll tack few additional degrees on for the daytime high. eighty-four in the sunshine for the rest of the day, tomorrow though again it get hotter, more humid, tomorrow night is when we see that shower or thunderstorm,
