the dangerous discovery, that has parent and grand parents scratching their head, heroin found inside of a lunch box in a trenton kindergarten. those drugs spotted by a teacher in the hand of a five-year old child. good evening after one i'm ukee washington. aim jessica dean. "eyewitness news" reporter cleve bryan has been following this all day and joins us live from trenton with more, cleve. >> jessica, this is the international academy of charter schools kindergarten through second grade building. even though some of the them may have been exposed to this dangerous drug police don't believe any of them consumed the heroin but they are working with the division of child protective services to try to determine how it got in that lunch box. >> it is terrible. >> reporter: question parents can't seem to wrap their heads around how could a kindergartener end up with 30 packs of heroin in his lunch box. >> i'm surprised. i'm numb, i don't know why

would someone, allow kids to bring stuff like that into school. >> reporter: on monday international academy of trenton charter school at bellevue avenue called trenton police to report drugs. police saw five-year old playing what looked like a candy wrapper. closer look revealed drugs in a folded wax paper and then student's lunch box there were 29 more packets. police say it is heroin. >> the problem is it was in the child's home. >> reporter: charter school released a short statement saying they are following the procedures specified by law and working closely with the local authorities to handle this manner. school is doing things to keep kid safe. parent say at very least there should be a discussion about drugs and checking lunch boxes or school bags. he was lucky, right. but now people are involved. agencies, the state, folks that should be involved are actually involved now because it happened. what about the child who is in their home, and they didn't

bring it to school. that child is still in danger. >> reporter: trenton police described this as an active investigation. they have not given us any indication if it is parent or anybody else who may have been involved with putting the heroin in the lunch box. right now they say that the little boy was taken to the hospital, on monday, and he was tested but they didn't find any drugs in his system. reporting live from trenton, cleve bryan, cbs-3 "eyewitness news". >> cleve, thank you you. a delaware county pharmacy is the scene of the violent robbery and tonight police say suspects may be responsible for other similar incidents. "eyewitness news" reporter joe holden is in upper darby right now you to tell you more, joe. >> reporter: ukee, good evening. we have our hand on the fbi bulletin that tells story behind all of these hold ups. in three of these robberies two in delaware, one in syringe field township we are told robbers were armed. upper darby police say one in this township robbers used

physical force. two workers inside this upper darby pharmacy were roughed up monday morning in a violent robbery. police described it. >> one is like 51, other is 58. like i said they pulled their hair. they really, they were, i described it as a despicable cowardly act. >> reporter: thinks still picture of those two men. at first they check out the store and left. ten minutes later investigators returned to get this, and only then did they put on masks. police say they made off with thousands of pills like tylenol and cough syrup but missed most powerful of drugs. >> these guys that do these robberies, i always call them terrorist. they are urban terrorist. they put fear into people for what? dough get a job. >> reporter: investigators in delaware and springfield believe this pair may be responsible for other pharmacy robberies. >> it is right around the corner from my house. >> reporter: anthony is a

upper darby township committeeman and had tough word for rob hours roughed up those two older women. >> upper darby will not stand for this nonsense, couple thugs coming in looking for dope, cash, whatever, it is who arable. >> reporter: fbi tells news one of the robberies in delaware those robbers got away after stealing a cat. as for the one in upper darby township we did speak to the owner of that pharmacy and tells us other than being rattled two women roughed up are doing okay. live outside upper darby township police, i'm joe hoed even for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". police are investigating a fighting of a man near fourth and lehigh street late this morning. victim was selling toilet paper and other cosmetic a at fair hill square some one pulled a gun on him and shot him in the back of the head as he ran away. man collapsed near a fountain and at last check he was in critical condition. we spoke with the victim's father in law. >> it is ridiculous, you know, now nobody wants to talk, or

came with the problems they have. they have to do firearms and that is ridiculous. >> reporter: in all, there have been five people shot and killed in kensington in the past 24 hours. atlantic city police say officer josh fatal could released from the hospital as early as tomorrow. the officer was shot in the line of duty earlier this month while pursuing three robbery suspects near caesars parking garage. two are facing charges. another was fatally shot by police. a go fund me for officer fatal, a page has raised nearly $106,000. taking a look at the weather we are dealing with a september sizzle, back in the 90's out there meteorologist kate bill other is on the skies deck with more on how long the heat will stick around, kate. >> for another couple hours, heat will be here for a little while longer. not feeling too bad out here as dew points have dropped, but it is still hot. as you can see though as we look at temperatures it is already, starting to change.

you can see green invading the poconos and into the lehigh valley, that is cool air, coming in behind a cold front and that will sweep through the area tonight, and you can feel cool down baking up in the middle of the night and stepping outside it will feel different. tomorrow's high about 15 degrees cooler then today's highs. right now 91 in philadelphia. ninety in wilmington. still 90 in atlantic city. dew points have dropped, technically pleasant out here with the dew point of 55. still feels hot with temperatures in the 90's, we should be in the 70's. the here's new records to take both wilmington and trenton both record, they got to 39 in those spots, atlantic city here in philadelphia and allentown we all tied records, the high today so far 92 degrees. you can see on storm scan three showers and storms approaching lehigh valley, those will fizzle but could impact city late tonight. it is behind those showers though that the cool air lurks and coming up in the full forecast i'll tell you how cool it will be and have latest on tropical storm julia and tell you whether that will impact us at all.

for now, back over to you. kate, thank you. an alleged conn man from south jersey is back behind bars, he is accused of using telephone dating services to defraud woman out of thousands of dollars. patrick giblin of ventnor was on probation. prosecutors say he lured woman from the u.s. and canada into a relationship and then asked them for loans. he did not intend to pay. >> someone convinces someone that they are romantically interested in them and that if they give them money and they will come visit, that would be a material miss representation. >> in 2007 giblin was sentenced to nearly ten years in prison for defrauding more than 50 women. beverage companies filed a lawsuit to block philadelphia soda tax from taking effect in january. the tax amounts to 178 cents on a 12-ounce can of sewed a plaintiffs say the new tax violates the law because it duplicates the state's sales tax and unfairly taxes soda at a higher rate then other drinks. mayor jim kenney wants to use

we cannot rule out heading back to the 90's again but chances are diminishing. average high is just 79 degrees and those averages will be steadily dropping through the next month or so. lets look outside, we will go to our live neighborhood network. it is looking ominous in broadheadville pleasant valley in the poconos. dark cloud moving through. we have had showers in that region. kutztown showing an increase in clouds as well. 75 degrees right now but cloud moving in and there could be a couple showers, right now, just refreshing that image. it is looking more overcast, gray skies and couple of showers, kid outside on the soccer field but they are hitting a single at whitefield elementary school in reading. tark as well as these showers and cloud move in. same story in bernville showers and thunderstorms moving out the but they have had north wind at 16 miles an hour and that is bringing this cooler air right back in the region. showers are kind of few and far between, sparse, nothing severe but just stray shower or thunderstorm over portions

of the lehigh val any to berks county. these are moving south and east. can't rule out philadelphia i can go ape shower or storm. but it does look like mostly will fizzle before it gets here because boy do we need rain. today's high of 92 degrees not only tied record here in philadelphia but it brings us to 45 days in the 90's so far this year. we tend to refer to 2010 as gold standard of hot years, 55 days in the 90's in 2010. we have sizzled all summer. we are not that far off that mark only ten days shy and this is hottest year since 2010, by a pretty wide margin, more than six days to the next closest contender there it has been hot, you have not imagined it, very the hot, steamy summer but now things are changing. the once these showers move through notice how they fizzled through the next couple hours, cloud bank moving through overnight. tomorrow morning we will start with clouds to the south, and then sunshine to the north. here's 7:00 a.m. starting off nicely in the lehigh valley,

bucks county, montgomery county, possibly a couple clouds hanging on down the shore in the morning but that front continue to push through and we will go from highs in the 90's today to highs only in the 70's tomorrow but a 15-degree drop in temperature and drop in the dew point as well. it will feel like a hint of fall in the air. problem business that front fizzling we will in the get rain. we are in a significant rainfall deficit. we are 4.24 inches below average on the year so far. only 25.32 inches since january 1st, normal close to 30 inches. we have tropical storm julia and ian. ian is not a threat to us or united states. but julia bringing flooding rain to the coast of south east and it will sit and spin for days upon days right here near the coast of south carolina with devastating flooding possible along the coast. tonight a stray shower or thunderstorm depending where you are. we will clear it the out. next two days are stunners. the saturday looks good. chance for shower late sunday
