specially. we have flood advisory, that's now going out of effect, along eastern portions of new jersey. but you can see that things are starting to dry out depending on location, further north go likely still see maybe scattered shower here and, there but at least not as bad as it was this morning. meanwhile already pick up over an inch worth of rain in philadelphia. so far today, this is the first rain we've had since september 1st. so the rest of the day still features additional scattered showers, possibly even thunderstorm, but it is far less widespread, far definitely not as heavy as we had seen earlier in the morning, so that's at least some good news. but i know what you are thinking. you are already looking ahead to the weekends after the morning we had. with that said we want to welcome you here to our weekend watch, brand new segment we've got here, cold front coming along this week, bringing with it noticeably cooler less humid conditions. possibly shower along the way. jim, rahel, we send it back on over to you. >> thanks so much, katie n other news this afternoon, now getting a look at the moment a police officer was shot during deadly rampage in west philadelphia. this video captured by camera

outside a barber shop shows the moment university of pennsylvania officer edward miller was hit. he was released from the hospital yesterday. investigators say the gunman, nicholas glenn, went on a shooting rampage late friday night, killing a woman, and injuring five others. people living nearby ducked for cover. >> it was ten, then four more, so i just laid in bed and got close to the wall, you know, shooting through the windows. >> philadelphia police sergeant sylvia young remains hospitalized after she was shot several times. glenn was killed in a police shoot-out. investigators say glenn was angry with his probation officer, and police, and wrote about it in a note found at the scene. >> well, before officer miller was released from the hospital yesterday, got a visit from some of the eagles, zach earth, jordan hicks, all stopped by the eagles, then hopped on plane to chicago for their showdown with the bears. >> very nice gesture there. tonight before the eagles kick off some players say they're

here. so we walk you through that pattern. we do have to address the here and now, of course the rain that just drenched us this morning, oh, what a rough morning drive it was. and we ended up with some very impressive rainfall totals. take a look, obviously very short list. but phoenixville over inch and a half that fell from this morning already, over 3 inches of hamburg, reading picked up 2.33 inches, and the list goes on here, so definitely again very impressive way to start off the work week. we really needed the rain. we were facing nearly 5-inch rain deficit even back to january 1. however this helped put dent into that. meantime this front is still pushing out. drug a lot of moisture, warmth out in advance of it. we are very likely still going to have to dodge some additional showers, if not thunderstorm or two before it is all said and done, mainly just showers left over, then look how quiet it is across pretty much the rest of the us. we get in on the pattern eventually it, will take bit of time here again slow moving

front. so, as we look at future weather the next couple of hours, see how things sort of fizz snell not gone but better than it was, you won't be dodge that huge plume of moisture bringing the heavy rain like we had earlier today. and, even into the overnight, there may still be lingering shower here and there, even tomorrow morning, but at least this is the last gasp of this front. and then it starts to clear out for us, as we look toward to the rest of our tuesday, that's the transition that takes place to bring us much nicer weather in the day ahead. yep, it was very much needed rain. at least it is gone. as we head through the day tomorrow, and again, other than shower in the morning, it is going to start to clear out, back to the 80s as skies brighten up too. less humid for us come wednesday. with high pressure building back in place, will feel real nice, warm, granted but very nice, we officially usher in the fall season with above average warmth as well into the 80s one more, speaking of ushering in the fall season, autumnal equinox will do that for us, december 22 -- september 22, 10:21, we usher

in the fall season, even though our meteorologists saying all right, it is fall like already, september 1, marked meteorological fall here. meanwhile boardwalk plaza oh, what a mess. not one loan soul out there right now. just so dreary. still pouring rain. further north go it is beginning to clear out at least little bit. although again scattered showers, pretty much still the norm for us, for the rest of the day. the heaviest rain is tapering off. still going to be dodging scattered variety of showers on the area radar, through tonight, and again, tomorrow morning. and then we're in the clear for multiple days here, and really, wednesday through friday, looks pretty great right now. saturday, as we mentioned earlier in the broadcast, when the front comes along, could bring shower more than anything though, cooling down through the weekends and also turning less humid at that point. >> we do need the rain. >> exactly. that's what we've had to continue to reminds ourselves of. it was getting to be pretty decent deficit here in the region.
