radicalism. brook silva bragga live in linden, new jersey where the suspect lived, brooke? >> reporter: good afternoon, brooke, jim, very busy morning here at the rahami residence, his father muhammad has come out of the building three times in the last two hours, the first time he came out, we were very surprised we went up to him and he said i made comment that we'll hear now. >> the father of terror suspect ahmad khan rahami stood outside the family home this morning and said he called the fbi2 years ago. investigators are now piecing together clues about his 28 year old son, in what might have driven him to bombings in new york and new jersey over the weekend. sources tell cbs news they recovered handwritten note and not book. writings reveal he may have been radicalized. >> as far as working alone, they'll investigate, go through all of the records, social media, his phone.

>> suspect on the run for just 50 hours, before police arrested him in a shoot-out in new jersey, investigators think he left a trail of clues including fingerprints and dna. his face captured by surveillance cameras,. rahami is u.s. citizen born in afghanistan. news has learned he traveled recently afghanistan at least three times and at least once to pakistan. here in new jersey rahami lived in this house in elizabeth. just upstairs from the family chicken restaurant. the rahami's clashed with the community over noise complaints, and accused of city of anti-muslim sentiment in a lawsuit later terminated. rahami underwent surgery for his injuries from the shoot-out, being held on more than $5 million bail, and so far is said to not be cooperating with law enforcement. those charges and that bail are criminal charges, any terrorism related charges are still to come. authorities have been careful to say they don't have yet

"eyewitness news" reporter alexandria hoff joins us live from penn presbyterian medical center with the story, alex? >> brooke, officers sylvia set to be released from the hospital within the half hour, as you can see, behind me, just so much support from her fellow comrads, who came so close to losing two of their own friday night. officer eddie miller released from the hospital yesterday. the second officer injured, eddie miller, spoke publicly for the first time last night after he along with philadelphia police sergeant sylvia young were shot numerous times in a rampage at the hands of suspected gunman, nicholas glenn. miller is seen here, at the moment he was shot in his hip and leg. >> training just kicks in, and you do what you have to do. >> the violent tear began late friday night. police say glenn fired 18 shots into young's police

cruiser before shooting into a night club injuring security guard and then into a nearby vehicle, containing a man and a woman. that woman later died of her injuries. miller was shot during a shoot-out with the suspect that took place in a alleyway. glenn was killed in that exchange. for sergeant young, police call her recovery a miracle. saying that of the 18 shots fired at her, a number of them hit into her bulletproof vest, and then struck her weapon, disable it. >> sergeant sylvia young is 19 year veteran of the force, as we mentioned before, she is expected to be released from the hospital within the half hour. reporting live from penn presbyterian medical center, alexandria hoff, back to you. >> thanks a lot, alex. detective say they're searching for who hit and killed a philadelphia man in the rhawnhurst neighborhood and never stopped. to making a arrest. >> philadelphia police are looking for the person who was behind the wheel of this white chevy cobalt monday night in rhawnhurst. investigators say, the driver seriously injured a 49 year old man, during a hit-and-run in the parking lot of this wells fargo bank at bustleton and bleigh. the crash happened before 11:00 in front of several eyewitnesses, it was with their help police say they tracked the car so quickly. witnesses provided the description and tag information. investigators tracked the registration. and found the smashed vehicle about a mile away on the 7,000 block of rutland street. police say the owner lives on the block, but no driver was found. >> now you are looking at serious crime, for a hit-and-run, and this individual doesn't survive the injuries, you're looking at vehicular homicide. >> the victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition with serious head injuries. police say, he was just about a block away from his home when he was hit. as aid searches for the person responsible, investigators are also trying to determine if this hit-and-run was truly an

starting to see few peaks of sun for philadelphia. not going total sunshine today, but notice increase in sun hour by hour, late in the day. visible satellite shows the bigger cloud cover from the city on south and east. that's where we find the coolest temperatures. so we have the sun, and it makes sense, upper 70s, close to 80 up in allentown, 77 in philadelphia. but lower to mid 70s in south jersey. and as i mention, pretty muggy, dew point temperatures still running hi, for late september. in the upper 60s, that's somewhat of tropical like air mass, so feeling steamy throughout the day today. now, tomorrow we start to drop some of the dew points, call it not bad really for the rest of the week. stays warm. now the reason for the humidity, kind of stuck in the tropical flow right now. this is water vapor imagery, it shows the circulation of the upper atmosphere, areas in green note orange areas dry, need the drier air to push its way into the delaware valley to push out humidity. that won't happen. it will take some time, not until tomorrow, we start feeling the difference, there is the south flow, lingering

those clouds around, couple of showers across jersey shore. tropics still very active. two storms we're watching. this is tropical storm karl, forecast to become a hurricane over the next five days, and potentially impact bermuda this weekend. so if you have a trip planned out to bermuda, not the best ideal conditions there. farther west, we head to tropical storm lisa, newly form storm, forecast to stay over the open waters the atlantic, that's some good news. back home slow improvement as far as the sky cover goes, front showily moves or shore, lingering showers over the carolinas the next few days, high pressure moves back over the delaware valley tomorrow. that locks us in the dry pattern, here we go again, several days no big rain chances coming in our forecast. and it stays warm. here is the overall pattern, jet stream to the north, all of the cold air still up in canada, this time of year usually start to see the jet trying to come southward, on holds little bit. so through friday, in a warm pattern but watch what happens. the weekend little drop in the jet stream. that will will bring more of
