5:33 am
near 90. in late september, not unheard of, but certainly, atypical. we do have a letter sky, and i will say, it is a tad cool outside. and we're going see that reflected in the temperature readings around the board here in a secretary, but starting off just with a look at storm scan, no store of storms to report. there is frontal boundery starting to nudge in, see the clouds beginning to build across the poconos, as that starts to approach. but it doesn't really bring a lot of moisture with it, as the show goes on, i'll track that for you. but we look briefly at your eyewitness weather health report. air quality not great today. do have air quality alert posted for southeastern pennsylvanian through the state of delaware, also into maryland if that's where your travels take you for anyone that sits in the sensitive category. kids, elder lip, respiratory problems. meanwhile, the pollen level that's low, uv index though is high. and the heat index is even moderate. because again it will spike on that thermometer later today. currently upper 60s from philly on down toward the shore points. flirting with 40's in mount pocono.

sending the kids out to school this morning, i would say it is a morning to specially in the outlying suburbs dress in layers, in the city, ride to school pretty comfortable upper six's, will rebounds very efficiently, even by lunchtime and recess, already in the mid 80s, that's already well above average. we expect to spike to 88 degrees, as we mention, later today. soap, that's a hot day. normal high, 76 degrees, and doing the math in your head, obviously well above average here. but it only lasts for so long. i'll tell you about the cool down coming up later in the show. meisha? >> katie, thank you. another very serious accident out here you guys, take a look at this, very serious accident, involving multiple vehicles, eastbound woodhaven road past the boulevard. all lanes are blocked right now. you guys, you will have to take an alternate around this, grant avenue, street road, probably going to be your best bet. so take a look back there, what you are looking at back there, i'll show you back up shot leading up to it there is isn't the best shot, penndot moving this around. but traffic is being diverted right now, i can tell you
5:35 am
that, as you approach where that accident is. and what we were just looking at couple every minute ago, before they moved the camera here, it was dead stopped all over the place, filtering up to where you are on eastbound woodhaven road at the boulevard. so, anywhere around that, right now, absolutely stay away from the area if you can. if you have to approach that area, you will be sitting therefore quite some time. and then you are going to be diverted. again, better alternate around this, grant avenue or street road, probably going to be your best bet. very serious accident there. another serious accident here near trenton, new jersey, 195 eastbound pass hamilton square road. take a look, only the shoulder getting by right now because of fluid spill as well, alternate route 130, new jersey turnpike, i can tell you right now a lot more coming up. good news blue route now since cleared and reopened. brooke, over to you. >> thanks, meisha. updating breaking news right now in florence township new jersey. this morning, police say one person was killed in a crash overnight. it happened at around 2:30, on west front street and woodlawn

exactly. something for everyone. but before we get to the weather, i do want to give shout out, special welcome to jason, he's in house today. he came all the way in guys from middletown delaware all the way in kent count any delaware to be with us this morning, he'll be with us the rest of the morning, helping us produce the show, how things work behind the scenes, yes, so thrilled he's here today. see bit more of him in our 6:00 hour. but with that circumstances as we check in with our eyewitness weather watcher network. looking today at temperatures that soar very readily, through the afternoon, but currently, off to bit of cool start. take a look at some of the outline ers, through some of the outlying suburbs, couple of the 40's to report here this morning, john jenkins reporting in, 49 degrees, this morning, under nice clear sky. so no blanket of cloud cover to trap in any of the heat that we had a chance to build up yesterday. it is just a lot cool they are morning, we're across new jersey generally in the 60s, from this observation. few nor clouds in chatsworth where mark is reporting from.
5:48 am
one more where see, 54 degrees, this one comes in from barbara this morning under generally clear skies, as well. temperatures had a chance to drop off more readily. switch it on over to storm scan. see what's up. there is a front that's going to be eventually crossing through bringing with it really more clouds than anything. i have to allow for a shower, far north of the city. i don't think philly gets in on it. see how the moisture primarily removed here off even across the canadian border, but more after new england issue than anything. even across central pennsylvania mainly clouds right now. but that's the beginning of the front that eventually crosses through. so while most of the day features sunshine, notice your time stamp where today at 3:00 p.m. generally clear outside? eventually you will put things into motion here. you start see some of those clouds building. again here is just that off chance for a shower. you're going have to go pretty far north to find that. so no umbrellas required. i would say maybe some sun block is though, if you're going to spends the day outside today. getting hot. thomas this front crosses
5:49 am
through, it is just a cloudy start to the morning, and then it clears out nicely for sunshine, and it will be a breath of very refreshing air here for our area. come sunday, at 4:00 p.m., just shy of eagles kick off, not a cloud in the sky. it will be one of those really crisp, really comfortable days. and actually, quite cool. even for the standards. i mean, 07 and sunshine is perfect in my world. but it is actually little cooler than average for eagles game day. remember you can see the game here on cbs-3, then temperatures do begin their rebounds mid 70s come tuesday, wednesday, even as early as late in the day tuesday our next shower chance emerge, but up until that point meisha not looking bad at all. >> no. >> it really isn't. but i can tell you right now, completely different story in the traffic department, and it has been like that all morning long, my friend. take a look at this. we have very serious accident. eastbound woodhaven road, past the boulevard, all lanes are blocked right now, because of this accident. you will have to use an alternate. grant avenue or street road will be your best bet. if you happen to already be
5:50 am
stuck in there or headed toward bear or not going to use the alternate traffic will be diverted ton a side street. now, that side street that you will be diverted onto is looking very, very slow. in fact, when penndot was zooming in on a particular area where you were being diverted, it looked like almost hundreds of vehicles out there right now. so if you can avoid this area, you absolutely certainly want to. eastbound woodhaven road past the boulevard, all lanes are blocked. so i will let you know it is very, very slow moving around there. then we have another serious accident near trenton, new jersey, you will have to use an alternate here as well, 195 eastbound past hamilton square, only the shoulder getting by. also fluid spill here. alternate route 130 or new jersey turnpike probably going to be your best bet. slow moving around this area, as well. another accident popped up in jersey 42 northbound at the a.c. expressway. that will right lane is block right now. that is going to slow you down there, as well. the good news is out of all of those crashes that are still on the roadways, accident
5:51 am
cleared on the blue route. the other one cleared in route 206 southbound, all lanes block as well. very busy morning. drive safe out there. jim, over to you. >> thank you shall meisha. still ahead one of high school's homecoming king and queens have a lot more in common than just being classmates. >> we'll explain whether we >> we'll explain whether we come right bac i'm really good at war. i love war in a certain way. including with nukes, yes including with nukes. i know more about isis than the generals do, believe me. nuclear, just the power the devastation, is very important to me. i want to be unpredictable, unpredictable, unpredictable, unpredictable. priorities usa action is responsible for the content of this advertising.
