behind children and a grieving family. the aftermath of an early saturday morning fire, which began inside of a candy park row home on lakeview road. fire officials say that is where lieutenant christopher leach a 14 year veteran and senior fire fighter jerry fickes, a 13 year veteran, for the through smoke and flames when the first floor weakened and collapsed into the basement leaving them trapped. both men leave behind children and families, four other fire fighters were injured, two in critical but stable condition at crozer medical center as of last evening. the family was able to escape without injury and upon learning of the death of the the fire fighters were overwhelmed by grief. >> you know, she's just so devastated. it is breaking her heart that they passed away in her house. >> reporter: entire city put flags at half staff,

encounter with an african-american man that has triggered protests in the city. hundreds marched through charlotte street to protest shooting that cbs news correspondent kenneth craig tells us that the video released by police is raising more questions. >> reporter: dash cam video shows charlotte police officers surrounding a car yelling drop the gun, drop the gun, you also hear a woman saying he doesn't have a fun. scott eventually gets out of an suv, hand at his side as he backs away. he continued to hear someone yell drop the gun, and then shots are fired. from another angle body camera video shows an officer pointing a gun at scott while the four three-year old stands out the side his car. police chief kerr putany says scott had a gun in his hand but that cannot be seen on the video. the department also released a photograph of the sun found at the scene and said tests revealed scott's dna, fingerprints on the weapon. police chief said officers were at the scene to arrest someone else but got involved

we're in paris. this is a beautiful, beautiful pit bull and we will tell you more about her. she's just absolutely delightful. but we have a couple of other animals, before we take our tour of the pennsylvania spca that i want to show you. this is the darling dog waffles, waffles two months old. i have to say waffles was adopted yesterday. we shot this yesterday, adopted yesterday. >> that is how fast. >> they can get out. this dog was dropped off at pennsylvania spca property found by one of the veterinary nurses. but waffles, i'm so happy you are in a new home. there are plenty of other great dogs there and cats. let me show you this darling thing. this is parsely a six year-old male cat. isn't he beautiful? look at the markings. domestic short hair available for adoption with a lot of other cats. and, the art of jillian cokier, the wonderful pr director there. who have lots of animals with the the pennsylvania spca.
