take a look behind me, this is where fire fighters began arriving to work early this morning hugging each other and patting each other on the bag taking in the the reality that christopher leach and jerry fickes, two of their brothers are gone. aftermath of an early saturday morning fire, whiz began inside of a row home on lakeview road. a that is where lieutenant chris tore leach, a 14 year veteran and senior fire fighter jerry fickes, a 13 year veteran, for the through smoke, flames when the first floor and collapsed in the basement leaving them trapped. both men leave behind children and families, four other fire fighters were injured, two were in critical but stable condition, at crozer medical center as of last evening. the family that lived inside the home were able to escape without injuries and upon learning of the death of the fire fighters, were

overwhelmed by grief. >> it is breaking her heart to know that they passed away in her house. >> reporter: the entire city put flags at half have staff, will mink ton fire chief anthony good says that the entire department, their families, and communities, are in mourning. >> prayers. this is very tragic, a tragic day for the will mink ton fire department to lose two individuals, two of our brothers. >> reporter: vice-president joe biden were among many that contact i am to offer comfort to the grieving fire department and families of the fallen fire fighters. no word yet on the cause of the fire, and federal and local officials, continue to investigate. live from wilmington, cherri gregg for kyw news radio for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". >> cherri, thank you. in the state of washington police arrested suspect in friday's shooting that killed five people. the authorities took the suspect in custody near his

home without incident. brooks silva-braga has the story. >> reporter: police captured the suspect in friday night's mass shooting at a washington state mall. investigators say they apprehended arjon, early sat the day evening in oak harbor about 30 miles from the scene. >> i saw an individual walking, northbound on the sidewalk and i instantly recognized that is personally just viewed on my computer, and i did an abrupt u turn, hit my lights, pulled my gun and myself and reserve deputy eric rumbaum took the individual in to custody. >> possible shots fired, unknown number of victims, law enforcement advised. >> reporter: four women were shot dead in the make up area at macy's and a man died later. shopper fled in hidden changing rooms and other stores. >> it wasn't all at once it was more like a shot and two seconds later another shot. >> reporter: surveillance video shows the alleged shooter arriving at the mall unarmed, and then entering macy's ten minutes later with

a hunting style rifle. victims ranged from a teenager to senior citizen. >> our community suffered a devastating loss of five treasured members of our community hoff done nothing more than what we all have done, on any given day,. >> reporter: fbi searched for the suspect. brooks silva-braga for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". baltimore police say three gunman opened fire into a crowd shooting eight people including a three-year old little girl. a all victims are expect to survive. it the happened last night around 8:30 outside a block of row homes. the suspect as was taken away. baltimore police commissioner kevin davis believed the shooting was an act of retaliation for labor day weekend shooting when a man was fatally shot and two women were hurt. police released video of the deadly encounter of an african-american man that triggered days of sometimes violent protest

hundreds peacefully marched through charlotte streets to protest the shooting but as cbs news correspondent kenneth craig tells us video is raising more questions. dash cam shows officers surrounding the car yelling drop the gun. you hear a woman saying he doesn't have a gun. scott eventually gets out of the suv, as he backs away. you can continue to hear someone yell drop the gun, and then shots are fired. from another angle body camera video shows an officer pointing a gun at scott while the four three-year old stand outside his car. police chief kerr putany says ask the had a gun in his hand but that cannot be seen on the video. department also released a photograph of the gun, found at the scene and test revealed scott's dna and fingerprint on the weapon. police chief says officers were at the scene to arrest someone else but got involved with scott after they noticed him with marijuana and a gun. what we're releasing are the objective facts. >> don't shoot him. don't shoot him.

i do not even want one. >> reporter: it is a brain training computer game designed to activate part of the brain that says, stop, instead of go, to certain foods. >> you think of it like a basic brain skill, that by processing something that is a little bit difficult repeatedly over and over again you get better. practicing it, to a picture of the food, translates to practicing it to the real food. >> reporter: evan dorman a psychologist at drexel university develop the computer program that that he is ten minutes a day for six weeks. the diet is in response to a series of pictures good and bad food, accepting or refusing. it changes, and gets faster overtime. as people get better at the game they should get better at resistance the temptation to eat unhealthy food in real life. >> very strange but it is great, wonderful. >> reporter: even though it is unclear how and why the program works, research shows it does, but maybe in the for everyone. emily has lost 22-pound, in
