mornings, things starting to get cooler. outlying suburbs you want to bundle up the kids seeds g them off to the school bus in a place like quakertown, probably drop another agree or two before the sun eye raises, it is 41 degrees there. eventually see clouds builds in here, that's sign of things to come. there is a cold front that's headed our way. it does bring the next wet weather chance as early as this evening. we will track that front for you coming up. eventually meisha the umbrellas have to be broken out again. >> i love the wet they are weekends, yesterday was perfect. thank you so much. looking outside right now, roadways, nice and dry obviously, schuylkill before spring garden, what you are looking at moving in both directions, looking like fairly typical early monday morning, we know it will be busy, mondays typically are. right now, this is what you are looking at. looking good on the schuylkill. vine open last night, early morning construction, typically used to it at this point. move toward the schuylkill, both directions open.

looking great there. minor accident here overturned truck 295 northbound before route 42, right lane block because of it, another one here that popped out, city avenue at conshohocken, make note every those, also we've got construction out, there as well, construction walnut lane bridge re-opening on tuesday. it was scheduled to open today. now that has been pushed out until tomorrow. your alternate, lincoln drive, midvale avenue. make note of that, also we've got construction pa westbound between valley forge and downingtown. over to you. >> close call for police officers in montgomery county when they get into a tussel with a man caring a gun. >> "eyewitness news" reporter jan carabeo, is live at the scene in glennside, with the details. jan? >> reporter: brooke, jim, here at this fuel business behind me, investigators say armed man, possibly with the intent on committing suicide with police, got into struggle with police officers here, and during that struggle police say the gun discharged five times. now, fortunately, no one was hit. one of the officers was

injured, not by the gunfire, though, but this was certainly a close call for everyone involved. take a look at the video. you can see, investigators have been collecting evidence here at the scene for hours. this is the rival fuel heating and air-conditioning in, limekiln pike and mount carmel avenue. you can see the spell shell casings here. this all started around 8:00 last night in upper dublin, police there contacted by this 32 year old man's family. they say he left home with a gun and intent on committing suicide possibly by engaging police officers. it wasn't until midnight that abington patrol officer found the man here and as he talked to the suspect in abington sergeant arrived. they were patting the man down to put him back of the car when they felt a gun. the suspect's hands were in his pocket at the time. that's when investigators say the suspect took the weapon out. take a take a listen. >> he immediately pulled the gun out, started waiving it, and started yelling shoot me, shoot me. and the one officer dropped

back, and grabbed his -- pulled out his firearm, the other officer dove at him to try to control him and control the gun. they wrestled over the gun for considerable periods of time. the other officer put his firearm away and engaged in the struggle over the gun. they actually discharged the firearm five times so that it was unable to be used against them. >> now the sergeant was injured in his shoulder, again, not by the gunfire, but he was taken to the hospital for treatment. epp also can't hear out of one his ears right now because that gun discharged so close to his head. he is expected to be treated and released this morning. in the meantime the suspect is under arrest. later this morning he will be undergoing a mental health screening. reporting live in glennside this morning, jan carabeo, cbs-3, "eyewitness news", jim, brooke, back into you. >> meanwhile, in wilmington, the bodies of two firefighters killed in the line of duty will be taken to the respective funeral home today. the processions will begin

around 9:00 this morning, 41 year old christopher leach and 51 year old jerry fickes killed saturday. they were fighting a fire in a row home on lakeview road when the floor collapsed. a woman and six children were in the home. they got out safely. four other firefighters were also injured. >> turning now to campaign 2016. there are just 42 days until the presidential election. as we countdown to election day, the race in pennsylvania is tightening. the latest morning call muhlenberg college pole shows hillary clinton holding a narrow lead over donald trump. among likely pennsylvania voters, clinton leads by three-point, and a head to head match up. forty-four to 41%. >> her lead is shrieking. she's down six points from a week ago, when she maintains a nine-point lead over trump in the keystone state. >> hillary clinton and donald trump are making last minute preparations for their first presidential debate tonight. washington post abc news poll

"eyewitness news" anchor jessica dean in new york for debate. >> in other news, baseball resumes today after the marlins pitcher jose fernandez died in a boating accident this weekend. a vigil is growing for the 24 year old outside marlins park. fernandez and two friends were killed when their boat smashed at full speed into a jet i off miami beach. investigators removed the wreckage yesterday. fernandez, native of cuba, who received his u.s. citizen ship last year, in addition to his family, he leaves behind a pregnant girlfriends. >> well, the suspect in friday's mall shooting in washington will be arraigned later this morning. police say 20 year old arjon

martin walked into face i's friday night, fatally shot five people. right now investigators are looking into his past, searching his house, car, interviewing his relatives. >> the city of charlotte is no longer under curfew after a police officer shot and killed keith scott last week. >> protesters gathered outside the panthers game yesterday and kneeled during the national anthem. >> keith scott was fatly shot by police last tuesday, authorities say scott had a gun when he got out of his vehicle. police believe the video of the shooting but it still leaves a lot of unanswered questions. the eagles have next weekend off. it is too bad. because the birds are on a big roll. yesterday, they dominated the steelers, one of the best teams in the nfl. now this could go down as one of the most eye-opening plays of young carson wentz's career. he scrambled out of trouble and find darren sproles, who

pittsburgh. >> cedar rapids, iowa are bracing for flooding this morning. forcing several thousand people to leave their downtown homes. forecasters expect the swollen river to crest at 23 feet tomorrow morning. officials say it could be days before people can return home. the school district says it is cancelling classes through wednesday. well, the time now is 4:43, they've got too far water. we don't have enough. >> looks as though we'll have a chance to see some of the deficit get chipped away here in the days ahead t means of course you'll see with wet weather along the way potentially, messing with some of your outdoor plans, one system that's going to be the problem child for us for the next couple of days. it stalls out nearby. that's where the threat for wet weather will be coming from. for now, all is very, very quiet here at the local level. we do still have high pressure in place. few clouds beginning to build off to the northwest. but you only have to zoom it out one time to see that there is a lot of activity taking place across the midwest,

great lakes region. that's the leading edge. what happens is that front will cross our region, clear the coast, then it stalls out, then these areas of low pressure will be riding up along it, so we will see additional chances for rain as the week progresses. now for now, we start off with bright sunshine, jumping you to 8:00 a.m. see the clouds begin to build in southwest off to the east and northwest times. there may be a little sprinkle in the far western suburbs late this afternoon, but really later tonight that the rain starts to get going. really through the overnight. might hear the raindrops, meantime, pocket of rain could be locally steady but mainly showers and about this same time tomorrow likely to get the morning drive off to pretty damp commute. we will eventually end up with skies starting to clear with time. maybe lingering showers. so in the after none at the shore. so meantime, we start offer just as clear as we started yesterday. which mens, it will be one of those cooler starts to the day. not terribly breezy though. what you see is what you get on the thermometer. we rebounds to seasonable 75. meanwhile, showers build in

>> happy monday everyone, waking up here hopefully on the right side of the bed. because we have a couple of great things going for us here. the weather is still very, very cooperative for now at least, of course coming offer the awesome eagles win. let's turn the focus what lies ahead here. there are changes brewing. you can see that very well with this menacing looking frontal boundary. that's eventually going to bring the next wet weather chance likely as early as later tonight. for now, things still very calm, still very collected and actually will get through the better part of the day without a hitch here. clouds do start to build with time, that again is a sign of things to come. for now clear, cool, and certainly with temperatures in the low 50's at best, you will want to dress in layers. but, by later today, even though we are still going to rebounds to pretty typical mid 70s across most of the region, there are clouds building in overhead. and the showers eventually develop later tonight, but i would say 8:00, 9:00, 10:00 or so from west to east see things moving in.

currently here's where we stand, 49 in trenton, 41, that's the one that really stands out, obviously the coolest spot of the pack, of course in the mountain us terrain, by comparison, not as harsh but still pretty typical in philadelphia, 55 currently, probably drop more before the day is said and done. stay in the 70s through wednesday, tomorrow morning specially, still looking for that rain to be lingering before skies clear. we catch break wednesday. and another area of low pressure bridges additional showers for thursday, and probably friday, too. so, it is sort after up and down kind of forecast, meisha. but we do need the rain. we've been awfully spoiled lately, right? >> absolutely, no complaints here. great warning about tomorrow morning. we know katie even with just a little bit of rain it, takes absolutely nothing to slow us down. i hate to say that but it is true it, takes nothing. so looking outside, we are enjoying the nice dry roadways right now plus it is still early, so you have open roadways, as well, boulevard at wissahickon avenue. both directions looking good. i would say looking actually really good.
