>> royal couple continues their tour of canada. >> despite a tiny, royal snubbing. >> prince william and the dutchess of cambridge spent the day in vancouver, yesterday, the couple's children, prince george, princess charlotte also in canada. made headlines this weekend when the three year old,
12:19 pm
declined to high five canada prime minister, despite daddy, prince william's urging. >> kids have to be kids. >> i don't know who you are, stranger danger. >> you know, they just got to play. >> bingo. bingo stranger danger, yes, even the prime minister, still potentially a stranger. >> exactly. good parenting in my opinion. have them be afraid, that's good. at least for now, right? okay, so the weather still cooperating right now, yes, the clouds are starting to builds in, that is a sign of what's yet to come. that will be our next cold front, bridges in rain later tonight specially after the p.m. drive. so really getting through most of the day here without any kind of major hitches. although, again, a lot of the sunshine already starting to get skewed by the building collapse. so, we start it off just by going back out to storm scan, even at wider zoom, not much track just yet, we zoom it out one time though that does change. so you can see the leading edge of the colds front. it is pretty obvious, right? when this gets here later tonight, actually going to linger through the majority of
12:20 pm
at least the early morning commute tomorrow before we start to see things calm down and clear out. so, we are going to take you through future weather in a second here. i do want to show you what this general pattern has up its sleeve. because it is more of a week of ups and downs than what we saw last week, where the smooth sailing essentially through the tyne week. a lot of the front has been coming through dry lately, not going to be the case this time. here comes that first system. in the form after cold front tonight. leaving behind overnight rain, and showers, and bat that will linger into the early morning commute. eventually skies do clear throughout the course of the day. now, that front actually will sort of stall out to sea, we'll see another area of low pressure approach by thursday, wednesday looks like a break between systems, but then thursday more wet weather, and this is the system that looks like it will kind of hang out for couple of days. so we will likely have to be dodging some scattered showers, if not thunderstorm, through the majority of our tail end of the week, even into the upcoming weekends too. that's not the best news that
12:21 pm
we have been spoiled lately, and it is needed rain at this point. now future weather i promised you jumping you to 7:00 a.m. typical evening rush at least beginning to winds down at that point. obviously the rain is not here yet. that's good. i would say probably 9:00, 10:00 at the earliest when the far western suburbs really get in on this. so you might wake up to little bit of tapping of raindrops on your rooftop here, through the overnight. but at least at this point it may actually fizzle somewhat through the overnight, then start to pick up again, headed toward dawn, 4:00, 56:00 in the morning, prime time for vehicles to be hitting the road. could be little dicey out there, not just showers, maybe some steadier rain pockets within this, as well. this front is eventually going to clear, but note that even by noontime, this same time, may have some rain to track, southeastern most counties. have to keep close watch on where the back edge of this ends up, regardless things do start to clear out from northwest to southeast. now, another little tid-bit for far down the road, the temperature outlook. and we do have the anticipation into the month of october, and that at least in
12:22 pm
the northeast half of the region will be slightly above average in terms of temperature, maybe into central new jersey some of these northeastern counties in the delaware valley might be well above average when it comes to the temperatures. so, actually looking at pretty typical, in terms of temperature right now, dew points nice and low, it feels very fresh outside, and crisp. temperatures at 71 currently, little breezier than it was earlier on this morning, and meanwhile as we take a quick peak here at one of the live neighborhood network shots outside whitfield, clouds starting to build in, so the rain on the way with time. but again, not until later on tonight. then, we take a look down the road here, thursday, friday, possibly saturday, looking like it is a little un settle. none of the days look like a deluge or wash out, but kind of un settle. might want to keep the umbrella on hand, any time fair weather. >> thanks, katie. >> you got it. >> we will be right back. nope, not yet. sore bye that, vermont principal has eliminated homework for student in
12:23 pm
kindergarten through fifth grade this year saying there is no correlation between homework and academic achievement for kids in elementary school. instead, he said assigning play time, family time, and adequate rest. 's not the first to do this. several schools across the country are also assigning less homework so children can enjoy after school activities. and now we will be right back.
