back in 2008. 28,$800 a year. >> which is huge for our university not only in the tuition cut but you don't have the for the coverage and, you know, showing that lasalle really cares about the students. >> lasalle president doctor colleen hanash says keeping college affordable has been a major priority >> this year we were the only university who a chose to freeze tuition at last year's rates >> the rates will go in a effect for the 2017, 2018 school year. she says in the end most students there save between 1,000 to $1500. institutional aid will also be reduced with a lower tuition >> it definitely helps make my decision to come here. now that tuition went down lower is great >> rosemont started the trend last year when the school announced that it would be slashing tuition by 43% this school year. college president dr. sharon hearsh says the move paid off

afternoon, clouds will roll in. after sunset, a couple of showers could sneak in. i don't think tomorrow is bad. thursday in a friday, is when steadier rain may sneak in. it's thanks to this system right here. you can see the swirl of clouds over the great lakes. the front that came through is out to sea, we're in a little bit of a lull. but this system, it's an upper low pressure system circulation around the great lakes, this will be sliding southward and impacting our weather through the end of the week. it's a cut-off low. the jet stream flow is to the north. a concentrated area of strong wind. when you get a low to separate. it doesn't have anything to move it along out of had here. usually these systems come through quickly. these cut-off lows do not, so very slow moving producing clouds and showers right into weekend. here's what it looks like. we'll time it out. clear skies most of the region, 6:00 a.m. sunshine for most day. the sun will be shining.

generally overnight tomorrow night and into thursday mornings and steadier rain could move through and pretty much all day thursday we'll have the chance for showers and heavier rain thursday, it's tough to time the actual shower activity with these cut-off lows. depends where it forms. it looks like the steadiest may be off to our southwest but you can see even fray, the threat for showers remains all day long. it looks likes we'll pick up over an inch of rain before all is said and done with locally higher amounts of over an inch and a half or two inches especially off on the south and to the west. so rain arrives by tomorrow evening in the form of showers, showers at times thursday, possibly periods of heavier rain thursday and stays unsettled friday into saturday with scattered showers around. your "eyewitness news" weather seven-day forecast again keep this in the 70's. it's not too hot. not too cool either but very cloudy and very showery thursday into friday. saturday, i'm hopeful the sun may peak out here and there. but still chance for showers at any time. sunday looks like your better of
