moves ever closer to the florida coastline. the hurricane warnings posted right up the florida shoreline, up into georgia, we have hurricane watches and notice out to the west coast, of florida, as we still got tropical storm watches. that gives us an idea how extensive, this storm system at least wind field and the rain field will end up being with this storm system. the it will leakily just encompass, the sunshine state. now looking back here locally it is a lot quieter. we are looking at very tranquil conditions for next few days starting off on a clear, dry note and look at the temperatures in mount pocono, 38 degrees. it is absolutely in the morning in the suburbs to require a extra layer and that is kind of the theme for us next couple days. later this afternoon beautiful day 76 degrees with the sunshine, 70 at the shore and mountains. remember, you can track matthew and our forecast whenever you want. just down load free cbs philly weather app from the apple and

4:45 am
system. because it will get here by the weekend we will have have to allow for wet weather, maybe tropical moisture gets funneled in from matthew but storm itself will stay off to the south and track shows this very well. currently a potent category three storm system moving to the north west now and going straight now northwesterly at 10 miles an hour. still a slow moving system. as of 8:00 p.m. it may strengthen again to category four status. even if it doesn't make land fall this is too close for comfort to the florida shoreline because of the extent of the storm that is why we have impact all the way out to the western edge and extending into portions of the panhandle where they will find heavy rain. look at what happens here come sunday that storm will make a right-hand turn. thankfully weakening but still category two hurricane and it is strange but this storm will start recurving almost going into a loopy loop and it sits
4:46 am
and spins until it just loses its strength and done with. in the meantime forecast rain amounts are impressive. anywhere from eastern florida all the way up here, towards cape hatteras you could have multiple inches, four plus inches have rainfall. so, it will be a rough storm for a very, very widespread swath of the southeastern shoreline. here at home it is very quiet. saturday brings in cloud, showers, pockets of heavy rain but we're in the clear otherwise and cool us off for second half of the weekend, meisha. >> it looks beautiful here. in our neck of the woods. good morning. happy thursday. looking outside right now your drive is looking really, really good. really nice, calm. we have one accident, blue route. we will get to the extent in a moment. ninety-five south at cottman same story looking good, looking nice and quiet. vine, still closed. what we are looking at here is westbound direction on the vine as we take broad street and it is closed between

i'm lucky to get through a couldn't keep up.rgenter. so, i switched to tide pods. they're super concentrated, so i get a better clean. tide. number one rated. it's got to be tide we are taking a live look at daytona beach a very, very quiet beginning to the beach day it looks like in florida but that will be changing, with the passing hours as we continue to track, a extensive potent hurricane matthew, still right now a very strong category three storm system and it is heading that way, moving northwest as we speak. is there other activity to discuss and that comes in the form of the tropical storm nicole, definitely in the getting as much headlines azamat you has because it is not expected to do much.
4:55 am
it will fizzle away with time perhaps bringing in rough surf toward bermuda but matthew is bigger story as it pertains to the south edds are united states coastline. as that storm barrels through bohamas right now it is basically covering that whole island. i heard a collogue describe it really well here. he said, hispaniola, cuba is like a giant boulder, bohamas they are like pebbles. that gives you a sense of there is no real geographic way to break this storm apart. it is actually going to start to redevelop and strengthen more closer toward southeastern united states. back in the sunshine it is nice and warm, off to a cool start, would i dress in layers. there are spots starting off in the 40's, we will rebound to 76 later on in the sunshine right through tomorrow but by saturday cold trent brings our next shot for showers, meisha. seventy-six today. not bad at all, good morning, everybody. still dark. dry so far this morning.

>> good morning. in the world of traffic everything is looking nice, roadways nice and dry. we have a couple minor accidents we will talk about in a moment but it is just construction, katie. >> weather is cooperating too. i would suggest dressing in layers on a day like this. we're off to a cool start and while temperatures drop we will discuss that but lets turn focus where everybody is sort of has their mine, trained here at least in terms of the weather up and down eastern seaboard. so here's another look at that satellite picture down over bohamas that storm is churning, well defined, obvious eye to the system and it is crossing through northwest through the course of the day movement here but over the course of this entire day, bohamas is where it is at and up toward florida later today impact starting to be felt. it is still, not expect to be an impact here, we may see some tropical moisture get drawn north with the frontal passage but that is it. we're really dodging the worst of this storm system.
