major weather head line even here locally people want to know about matthew and i zoom it out to show you about only tropical system we're still tracking. tropical storm nicole is out there expect to have virtually no i am ago. certainly on the east coast but it may bring up some stronger surf, and that within about it. matthew in the meantime still very, very strong category three storm. you can see a well define eye over bohamas right now and moving northwest and making that curve to the left a bit. eventually it will strike the florida shoreline and we will have much more on this system as show goes on but bringing it back here locally to get you out the door it is quiet as can be, no cloud cover, if there is any at all, it is pretty thin. temperatures about a chance to drop off readily throughout lying suburbs, cool enough start i highly suggest an extra layer but that wind nice and calm regional wide, high pressure hooking us up to a gorgeous day.

philly.com. in other news one people are recovering from injuries after they were rescued from the house collapse in trenton. chopper three over wayne avenue where a gas explosion tore through a duplex around 3:00 in the afternoon yesterday, inspectors will be there today to see if the homes could be salvaged, neighbors helped rescue two people from the wreck age. >> we saw them clawing at the windows so a couple guys off the street threw bricks in the window and then tire on the street and i saw the tire and they climbed out of the house. >> boy, four families totaling 14 people in the care of the the red cross this morning. search is on for a gunman police say is responsible for deadly shooting in kensington. the it happened in the 100 block of east sterner street around 70:00 last night. police say someone shot a 47 year-old woman in the head neck and shoulder. she was pronounced dead at the scene. investigators say she may not have been the intended target. four more arrests been

>> what do you see. >> just smoke. >> i just see colors. >> wow. >> i don't like colors when it comes to weather. >> brighter color typically worst the weather and as we track hurricane matthew right now, satellite not looking creepy but it is not looking very happy right now, this storm system is expansive, continues to show a very well defined eye moving northwest as a very strong category three storm system and we have multiple locations where you've got hurricane warnings or watches in place and they extend all the way up to south carolina. thousands, actually millions of people being evacuated right now as a result. now this storm does not pose a threat to our shoreline thankfully but it will take a strange path and we will go through whacky hurricane paths we have seen. ivan from 2004 went in a giant loop, my husband's cousin rick, he had on bring his boat out of the water in pittsburgh because of the flooding there that storm system.

wrong way lenny, didn't come from the atlantic but develop in the caribbean and went wrong way, you see those storms from the atlantic and off to the west. esther did a loop in 1961 and kyle long lived storm all the way out in the western atlantic went across the ocean, loops it back and then came back again. that was a very extensive system and ginger was one just like tonight 1971, look at this, it is like a toddler took a crayon to the atlantic. matthew, kind of in that same category. the storm did get on a set path as it crossed over haiti, cuba and bohamas but it is expect to make a loop because of the way atmosphere flow is. jet stream will suppress it for many days on end and as a result it the is just stuck and sit and spin and go in the loop before finally fizzles to nothing. in the meantime at home it is all quiet. high pressure in place. beautiful weather buttories a cold front that moves in and

job and every time he tried to push mike pence to defend what donald trump has said ape done pence just bobbed and weaved because trying to defend donald trump is an impossible task. >> reporter: trump and clinton square off in st. louis on sunday. hena daniels for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". ratings are in for tuesday night's vice-presidential debate and they were the lowest since the year 2,000. 37 million viewers tuned into see mike pebce and tim kaine argue issues. that is not even half off the record number of viewers who turned in for the first presidential debate. people who watched on the internet or mobile devices were not included in the ratings. well, concerns are growing that hackers could try to affect this years presidential election. according to the department of home land security, 24 states have asked for department's help with they're lex system. it is not clear which states asked for help, although

regain strength as it inches closer to florida tonight. heavy rain, powerful wind and storm surge are expected. the deadly hurricane is expected to bring similar conditions, to georgia, and carolinas over the next few days. >> katie's been busy tracking matthew and what it means for south as well as our area. >> hi there, katie. >> that is exactly a thankfully not an issue for our area but i have been keeping a close watch for a week and it has looked like it might still move up the eastern seaboard as of yesterday though a very substantial, significant shift in the modeling and it continued to stay that way. so confidence is growing that we are not going to have to bear any kind of direct threat but for the southeastern coastline this is a very, very devastating storm system. looking at the current just statistics on the storm it is a very potent category three season with 125 miles an hour sustained wind. it is about 5 miles an hour shy of the being a category four and likely does in fact

start to, just restrengthen here, later on today approaching cape canaveral nearing land fall at that point. as we go days out in the weekend, it will be recurving and basically just going in a big loop out to sea, however, because it is getting suppressed to the south other than tropical moisture getting drawn north we will have not to deal witt, but because it is day's long event, this is very, very, and, you could end up not even, four plus inches on have rain. there will be spots where we have a foot of rain out of this combining this with the storm surge we expect with the category four system it is a wall of high water getting shoved on shore. that is why they are evacuating people more than anything, storm surge can be deadly and as long as you are up on higher ground you'll be safer but very low ground here obviously down in the the south east. here's the storm system. here's the next frontal boundary the one crossing through our area this weekend.
