like i said, afternoon, start to see showers moving in from the southwest to north and east. we take you to the live neighborhood network from the palmyra cove nature park across the river, see skyline there. 589 degrees, a light breeze, 1 mile per hour wind out of the northwest today. so, wind not an issue. that is going to change later tonight, tomorrow, the winds will kick up out of the north, and that will start to bring in that cooler, fall air mass, into the region. there you go. there is matthew about 20 miles southeast of hilton headment look at all of the heavy rain. over most of south carolina, moving into north carolina as well. then that moisture moves northward, into central virginia, and then you get some rain in western pennsylvania, the cold front. these two features combine together will bring some showers in here, especially this afternoon, into tonight. wind speeds through the day today like i said, not real a problem. they'll be out of the east, and this evening, still looking okay. but once we get the cold front through, northerly winds overtake the region by the

time you wake up tomorrow morning. pretty good wind, ten, 15, maybe 20 miles per hour out of the north. that's going to rush in the cooler air. it stays breezy, throughout the day on sunday. so here is the latest as of 5:00 a.m. on matthew again, winds at 105, just off the south carolina coast, starting to move more north-northeast, will ride the carolina coastline over the next 24 hours, still piling up the water. so we have the storage surge, five to seven main even six to 9 feet or part of south carolina into the southern half of north carolina. so hurricane warnings remain in effect through myrtle beach, even tropical storm warnings up through hatteras as the storm continues to move to the north and eastment look at this winds field. hurricane force winds in red. it does make inland, we have gusts 85 miles per hour around tiny island the past hour. and those hurricane force winds ride along the coastline then the storm starts to move out to sea by tomorrow morning. so improving conditions. this time sunday, that's good news. this doesn't show justice,

starting to make the turn to the north and east as expected riding along the carolina coastline, winds still at 105 for maximum sustained, so that's category two storm, again the track continues to the north and east, then tries to make the loop back to the bahamas over the next four days, good news is the storm will slowly weaken in time. by this time tomorrow morning, much better for the carolinas, storm starts to move out to sea winds start to diminish, still tropical storm as early as early monday morning, look at the ones respect just pounding the carolinas so this will pile up the water here, so storm surge, potential, maybe six to 99 feet for the carolinas, through the next 24 hours, still very windy, late tonight, across outer banks, then the storm starts to move off shore. the winds switch out of the northwest, off shore winds, putting ends to storm surge. so better news there. and in the next day. look at the estimated rainfall amount. last 48 hours, you get to the orange, that's 5 inches of rain, then you get to the darker purple here, look at that, ten maybe 12 inches,

probably going to get to up 15 maybe close to 20 inches every rain before the storm is out of here. it is the colds front that's going to bring us some rain today help push matthew out to sea early tomorrow morning, and then it continues to push to the east eventually back to the south. high pressure replaces cold front, that bridges in the cooler drier air mass, starting early tomorrow morning, you will feel big difference. today, mild, low 70s, ahead of the front. tonight cool 50's to about 60. then tomorrow's highs struggle to make it back into the mid and upper 60s, even with some sunshine. so for today, watch out for the showers, afternoon, 72 degrees for the high, still going to have some rain around tonight. specially some steady rain south jersey 55 for the low. here is the extended forecast, nice october weather, early next week, look at columbus day, six an in the sun, keep it upper 60s about 70 over the next several days, over night lows, rahel, down into the 40's for the city. maybe even some upper 30's in the coldest suburbs. >> that's when it feels really cold at night. >> that's when it start settling in, winter around the
