spunt, cbs3 eyewitness news. >> hillary clinton touted her debate performance at an event tonight at ohio state university in columbus. a tight race between the presidential candidates. tomorrow is ohio's voter registration deadline. today clinton urged millennials to vote. she told them trump's policies will take the country backwards. >> this is turning the clock back, not just a few years, but centuries. the only way to rebuke this is to vote. use the single-most important fundamental right you have as citizens of america! >> earlier in the day, clinton rallied with supporters in detroit, michigan. >> and we are just a little more than 28 days from election day and time is running out to register voters. super pacs are playing a big role in that effort, especially in pennsylvania, which is a battleground state.

eyewitness news was on the streets with workers from for our future, a pac as they went door to door to register and motivate voters. conservative groups are working to get the amish in pennsylvania and ohio to vote trump. if you want to vote in next month's election you need to be registered. the deadline is tomorrow. in delaware the deadline is october 15th and in new jersey you need to register by october 18th. still ahead as we've seen with the debates, campaign 2016 has been anything but civil. is this a breaking point for voters or just part of the process. we hit the street to find out what people really think. and later tonight, stephen colbert shares his take on last night's presidential debate. at 11:35 right after eyewitness news. >> new tonight president obama signs a disaster relief

declaration for ten counties hit hard by hurricane matthew. that move makes federal funds available to people affected by the storm. the declaration will provide assistance to affected residence in those 10 north carolina counties. the un coordinator made an emergency apail for more than $20 million. aid workers say there will be 750,000 people in need of life-saving assistance in southwest haiti alone. it's been almost a week since hurricane matthew slammed into haiti. the government there says 500 people have died but that number is expected to rise. >> some train service is back at the hoboken, new jersey, train terminal. 8 of the 17 tracks reopened today following the train crash last month that killed a woman who was on the platform and injured 100 others. train tickets will be cross honored with several other transit systems to give commuters additional options.

wick i leaks publishes more e-mails reportedly belonging to hillary clinton's campaign chairman. in this latest bash get into turmoil within the clinton foundation while clinton was second of state. he has acknowledged his e-mails were hacked but one of the e-mails may have been edited. this presidential election has been anything but typical, that's for sure. both candidates have been faced with scandals. >> but could it actually be a good thing that we as a nation are confronting tough topics. nicole brewer joins us. this has everybody talking. >> a lot of times it's an uncomfortable conversation for a lot of people. sunday night's debate set records on twitter and facebook as the most talked-about event

scarf. it is going to be a chilly start to the day tomorrow. break out the coats as you head to the bus stop or as you head out the door to work. it can be a frosty start in many locations. let's take a look outside right now. we'll start you off with a time lapse video. i want to show you the beauty of today, starting to see a few of the leaves change color. we'll look at our foliage report as well but not a cloud in the sky today, completely clear, dry and pleasant. everything looking fantastic and still looks good. we've got clear skies all across the region, high pressure is in control. nothing to talk about, really. we don't even have rain in the forecast for the next several days. we do have one front which i'll show you coming in as we get into the day on thursday. but it looks like it's going to come through generally dry. your frost advisory from 2:00 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. tomorrow. for the northwest suburbs and interior new jersey. low temperatures in these spots in the mid 30s. you want to protect your pets and any sensitive plants.

here is a map where we're seeing those frost advisories. mostly interior sections not the immediate coast. so if you do still have those plants out on the front porch like i do, the flower boxes, definitely cover them up, a pillow case works well, even a trash bag or a plastic bag works well to keep the frost away to keep them alive for maybe a couple of weeks. this is going to be the coldest night we'll have at least until the weekend, perhaps next week. it's much colder in all of our surrounding areas sitting at 46 in wilmington, 45 in millville, 48 in trenton and 41 in mount pocono. you'll wake up to temps in the 30s in many spots. you don't need to be down to freezing for frost to form, mid upper 30s you will see patchy frost out there. this is not all that out of the ordinary. early october is when we generally see this first drop

for philadelphia and nearby suburbs is generally late october. so if we do see frost in some of our nearby suburbs tonight it will be slightly on the early side but nothing crazy. high pressure overhead tomorrow keeps it sunny, cooler start but a nice pleasant afternoon. a little warmer wednesday, mostly sunny, here comes that front on thursday. very warm we can start the day with some fog. front comes through generally dry but it's going to knock us back temperature-wise by the end of the week. we're seeing low foliage all across the region. it's moderate as you head up toward the new york border. the next few weeks you're going to start to see that transition. 45 tonight, it's chilly, frost in spots, 30s in the suburbs. tomorrow deep blue sky, much like today. it's crisp, it's cool, slightly below average and more seasonable wednesday with some sunshine, watch for that fog during your commute. the afternoon looks good, it's going knock us right back to the 60s. crisp, cool and comfy, friday,
