hillary clinton continues to deal with leaked e-mails from her campaign. "eyewitness news" reporter alexandria hoff is live in the cbs3 sat center with the latest tonight. alex. good evening, justin. while hillary clinton stepped away from the campaign trail in advance of the final presidential debate next week donald trump had three events in the northeast. and today responded to the latest round of allegations by going on the offensive. >> ♪ >> reporter: at a rally in portsmouth new hampshire this afternoon donald trump denied any wrongdoing in a growing list of accusations of improperly touching women and suggested that the accusers stories were evidence of corruption. >> remember this. it's a rigged election because you have phony people coming up with phony allegations with no witnesses whatsoever. >> reporter: the clinton campaign responded to their rigged election comments with a statement saying "the american electoral system is free fair and open. adding voting should be encouraged not dismissed or undermined because a candidate is afraid he's going to lose.

latest as we count down to election day. a woman is facing charges after she's accused of assaulting a deptford township police officer. 56-year-old hinson was speaking to the officer through a closed door at the deptford park apartments when she suddenly opened it tossing that liquid in his face. hinson was arrested after a struggle and the officer was taken to a hospital but has been released. police captured a woman in connection to a house fire in west philadelphia. police say neighbors identified a 26-year-old woman as the suspect. flames broke out this morning on the 4900 block of girard avenue. we are told she's being treated for burns to her hands. no residents were hurt. and caught red handed. police arrest a man seen slashing tires near city hall. this morning patrol officers say they found a man stabbing tires on multiple cars. police approached and placed him under arrest. that's when a witnesses came

forward saying they saw that same man slashing tires nearby. police say 16 total cars had their tires slashed. police are trying to figure out just how an suv and crashed into a and apartmenting in northeast philadelphia this morning. one person living there says the suv hit a building at the ashley court apartments on bustleton avenue around 3 a.m. police say two people were injured from the impact. that resident telling us the impact of that crash scared him and his family right out of bed. >> i first thought was my kids okay and i thought we were at first being robbed. then when i saw the headlights i thought it was a fire and then i saw the car and i was like oh my god. so i grabbed ever one up got out of the room and got out of the house and didn't know what to do. >> we are told the injuries are minor and so is the damage to the building. but the cause of the crash is under investigation. and turning now weather. it's been a perfect fall day across the area. joining us now meteorologist lauren casey and lauren, i'm wondering will it be staying beautiful to close out the

weekend. >> yes, we'll keep the sunshine around but what a beautiful start to the weekend, perfect pumpkin picking weather temperatures around average 63 degrees the high temperature today in philadelphia. hitting average right on the head we topped off in upper 60's in allentown, upper 50's in the poconos and some mid 60's down the shore and right now temperatures starting to cool off now that that sun has set. 62 degrees in philadelphia. we're in the middle 50's down the shore, nice calm winds in the poconos about to drop off into the 40's. and it will be a cool start for the walk run philly 5k tomorrow. 52 degrees for the 7:30 hour. 57 degrees by the 9 o'clock hour but nice sunshine. don't have to worry about any rainfall and temperatures will rebound nicely as we head into the second half of the day. we'll kick off a warming trend tomorrow but for tonight the moon has already risen across the delaware valley and it will be a supermoon. more scoop on that. warming trend starts on sunday as we head into next week talking about some 80's in store potential record heat. we could see a couple of days

in the 80's. i'll let you know when you may have to turn on your ac in october in your full forecast in a couple minutes. justin. >> union members are voting whether to go on strike. if they vote yes, transport workers union local 234 says the strike will start november 1st. the main sticking point is the pension plan. the last time transport workers walked away was a six day strike in 2009. twu represents more than 5700 workers. now to a happy ending for a horse that was deep in danger. earlier this month we brought you the story of cyrus the clydesdale crane lifted from mud. he's okay and on his way to a new home but not before a big sendoff. on a brisk saturday a warm reunion and hug. >> it's a great feeling. >> reporter: that's rescuer steve and rescuee cyrus.

he was saved thanks to members of the chester county rescue task force. >> the first thing we did was try to get a sling around him to support him. >> at 18, cyrus is more than 1,000 pounds so saving him was not simple. the task force had to dig through high mud and then use their tools and tenacity to pull cyrus free. it took hours. then after rounds of evaluation for a pneumonia scare and antibiotics he was back at the thornbury farm stables but not for long. >> well, we're going to take him down to virginia today to his family. and he's going to live the rest of his life happy. >> soon cyrus and his adopted family will be joined by another horse said to be in inseparable from cyrus. >> so, how did all this happen? the farm thinks cyrus may have been chased and got stuck in the mud. his handlers say he's feeling stronger so he he's going to his new home very healthy.

beating breast cancer one step today. about a thousand walkers are resting after completing a 20-mile trek. they're taking part in the susan g. komen three day and anita oh he -- joins them. >> reporter: as the sun rose over philadelphia -- [cheers and applause] >> reporter: so did about a thousand people who laced up for day two of the susan g. komen three day. >> three days, baby. >> 60 miles that's not a lot. >> no. been through this before. been there done that. >> reporter: for many here the cause is personal. >> next week is my 11th cancer anniversary. >> reporter: doctors diagnosed anne moss with breast cancer in 2005 after a route teen mammogram. thanks to treatment he she survived. >> stay positive. that's the most important thing. >> reporter: now each year she joins her pink family for a 60-mile walk over three days in order to raise awareness and money for cancer research. >> there may be a few aches and pains along the way but it's nothing compared to what people going through chemo and

other things like that are up against. >> reporter: but from the midst of pain, the biggest blessing they say is the community they found along the way. each year jim hill man of san jose california walks in all seven cities that host the event. >> i get involved because my mom passed away from breast cancer in 2004. whether you're down emotionally physically it's always there to support you and to lift you up. >> reporter: now the participants will walk another 20 miles on saturday and then another 20 miles on the last day, sunday and end up at the navy yard. reporting in philadelphia, anita oh cbs3 "eyewitness news." >> all right and this afternoon "eyewitness news" caught up to the president and ceo of susan g. komen to explain a very important goal this year. >> we want to reduce the number of breast cancer deaths currently at 40,000 per year. and that number hasn't budged much since we got into business here. but we want to reduce it by 50 percent in a decade.

>> two more people have been found dead in north carolina in the wake of hurricane matthew. that brings the death toll there to at least 43 in the u.s. north carolina governor pat mccrory announced today those bodies were found after flood waters receded. many communities remain under water one week after the storm and 13,000 remain without power. matthew is blamed for more than 500 deaths in haiti. and drenching downpours have caused flooding out west and the rain is still coming down in oregon. in portland rising waters stranded cars. emergency officials are urging people to avoid high water areas. so far, no word on any injuries. and in nevada wildfires burning in carson city have destroyed 22 homes forcing hundreds of evacuations. a state of emergency has been issued as the winds and flames spread along sierra nevada.

500 firefighters are battling blazes. so far no injuries have been reported. and a local world two vet celebrates a milestone. >> ♪ [cheers and applause] >> "eyewitness news" was there as family and friends help celebrated in wilson jr.'s 96 birthday. at 22 he was drafted into the arm during world war ii and wilson shared his thoughts on celebrating yet another birthday. >> i feel good. 96 years old. i didn't do bad. >> wilson passed down his love of public service. he is the proud grandfather of a philadelphia police officer. and when some philadelphia students return to class on monday some things may look a bit different. "eyewitness news" at cook wissahickon elementary school where employees spruced up the school. they planted trees and painted.
