the race for the white house swings in new jersey tonight. donald trump campaigning in the garden state, while hillary clinton is off the trail. clinton at home preparing for the debate. good evening, i'm justin finch, natasha brown has the night off. both remain on the defensive, clinton on more leaked emails. liquid in his face. henson was arrested after a brief struggle. the officer was taken to the hospital and has since been released. police have captured a woman in connection to a house fire in west philadelphia. police say neighbors id that 26 year old woman as the suspect, police rather flames broke out this morning on the 4900 block of girard avenue. we are told she has been treated for burns to her hands. no residents were hurt. >> caught red handed, police finds a man slashing tires, officers say they saw man stabbing tires on several cars. police approached him, and placed him under arrest. that is when a witness came forward claiming they saw that same man, slashing tires nearby, police say, 16 total cars, some city owned, had their tires slashed. anarchs beautiful day made way for a cool night. but a warm up is in the works. meanwhile, lauren casey in the weather center. >> thanks so much, justin, beautiful fall day today, getting out there, checking all fall colors, perfect pimp

towns and major cities in its path. ben tracey with more from seattle, washington. >> fierce winds are whipping through the pacific northwest as the most potent part of this storm system comes on shore. >> oh, my gosh. >> on friday, an ef2 tornado with 125-mile per hour winds tore through the coastal town in oregon. uprooting trees, downing power lines, and damaging homes and businesses. phil saw it happen. >> it look like the wizards of oz. that's what it look like. just things were just moving like this. then you could see the trees just snapping like twigs. >> in portland, streets turned into rivers, as several inches of rain flooded part of the city. seattle has now had more rainfall in the past two days than it got in the previous three months combined. this monster of a storm system is the renmant after powerful pacific typhoon t has

wallopped washington and oregon, for nearly three days now, tens of thousands of people have lost power and fallen trees have caused injuries. >> kind of shocked. we just heard this loud thump. >> stella's car was crushed by a tree in her work parking lot. olympic national park, the coast guards had coast cued 40 kids and six adults, who were trapped at a lakeside camp that lost power. >> the winds is expected to howell here tonight, in what could be a historic winds storm. all day forecasters have been telling people to get their preparations done while they have the time. they're expecting a lot of people to lose power, and a lot of trees to come down. ben tracey, cbs news, seattle. meanwhile, two people have been found dead in north carolina in the wake of hurricane matthew. there bridges the death toll to at least 43, in the u.s. north carolina governor pat mccrory announced today, those bod wrist found after flood waters receded. many communities remain underwater, one week after the storm, and 13,000 remain without power. matthew is also blamed for

more than 500 deaths in haiti. tonight police are trying to figure out how an s.u.v. wounds up inside a northeast philadelphia apartment building injuring two people. resident says the u so suv hit building at the ashley court ants on bustleton avenue around 3:00 a.m. he tells us the impact of the crash scared him and his family right out of bed. >> i first thought it was my kids okay, then i thought -- at first being robbed, then when i saw the headlights i thought maybe it was a fire. and then i saw the car. and i was like oh, my god. so i grabbed everyone up. got out of the room. and got out of the house. and didn't know what to do. >> we are told the injuries are minor, and so is the damage to the building. the cause of the crash is under investigation. union members are voting tomorrow on whether to go on strike. the contract for bus drivers, subway, trolley operators, expires at the end of this month. if they vote yes, transport workers union local 234 says the strike will start november 1st. the main sticking point is the

center city philadelphia. lit up in the komen pink. southwesterly winds at around 3 miles per hour, southerly component to the winds flow, will drive in more warmth than moisture, especially headed into the next several days. temperatures right now are getting chilly specially in the lehigh valley. down to 46 degrees right now in allentown, we're at 43 mount pocono, have already fallen back to the middle 40's in ac. dew point, they tell us about how comfortable it feels when you step outside. yesterday dew points down into the 30's. so crisp, still feeling very comfortable with dew point below that 50 degrees threshold. but as we head into tuesday and wednesday, dew points will be up into the 60s, that muggy factor is going to return, but for tonight, feeling dry, and a little cool, down to 44 degrees in reading, 45 the low temperature in allentown, we bottom out 45 degrees in wilmington. storm scan3 showing us the trend of the day today, high pressure in control, so really not a cloud in site up and down the i95 corridor. but, as we saw earlier in the show tonight, just inclement weather, impacting parts of of
