pedestrian was struck in hamilton township just after 11:00 last night emergency crews were responding to the call in hamilton town ship mercer county this person was hit off i295 off 65a and then taken to the the nearby hospital. driver did stay on the scene. pedestrian's condition remain unknown. septa union members are expect to vote on whether to go on strike. contract for bus drivers, subway, trolley operators expired at the end of this month. if they vote yes, transport local union 234 says the strike will start november 1st. main sticking point is pension plan, the last time transport workers walk was a six day strike in 2009. twu representatives american 5700 workers. hillary clinton and donald trump have their third and final debate wednesday night. while clinton step away from the campaign trail in preparation for debate trump is responding to the latest round of allegations. brooks silva-braga has more. >> reporter: rallies both in new hampshire and maine,

annual aids run portion of this event, began, in just about 30 minutes, as you can see the set up here has already begun and then the walk portion registration opens up at 7:30. come on in here, rob. this is his 29th year that you have done this on the third sunday in october. >> yep judge how cost it feel. >> it is incredible to be back here again this year. you know, we continue to walk, to raise funds for our friend, family, neighbors living with hir disease and to raise awareness about their ongoing epidemic. >> reporter: so let's talk about this. it is hard for people to really understand how far it has come in the fight against hiv and aid. thirty years ago what was it like verse today. >> thirty years ago, you know, we were really watching our friend, die, and our goal, it was to help people die with dignity. today our goal, it is to help people live with dignity. so people can live a long, healthy life with hiv, if they

get into treatment. unfortunate thely in this country only 30 percent of people living with hiv are in treatment to the point where their virus is undetectable. >> reporter: wow, wow, that is the point of the aids run, walk philly and lets talk about that. because you guys have an evolving mission, we have two major points at this, since we've involve, what are those, the major mission now. >> well, beginning in 2017, we will be offering emergency assistance for people living with hiv. things like did you know that for a lot of people don't have have a state id and without a state id you cannot access any services. so for $50 we can get somebody a state id, and get them so they can access shelter care, medical care, and all of the services that somebody needs to live a long, healthy life with hiv. >> reporter: and they are not expensive but you have to make people have access to that as well. >> we may at times help people with the co pay, or we just,

helped a woman returning to work, she was on disability and she's now returning to work, but unfortunately because of the transition in her finances, she actually fell behind on her health insurance premiums. >> reporter: wow. >> she was in danger of losing her insurance because of that. so we're able to help her. she's able to now, going to be able to get back to work, off disability, and, you know, she's doing great. but she had a little struggle there. >> reporter: for money raise today which is in the the thousands i saw a lot of leaders, in that fund raising effort, all this money will be going now trekly to education, as well as to the individuals who need help, who are struggling with and dealing with hiv and aids. >> that is right, because we have to deal were not just the medical issue. >> yes good you cannot treat somebody medically if they don't have a roof over their head or if they don't have have insurance, or if they don't have an id.

whipping go through the pacific northwest as the most potent part of this storm system, comes on shore. >> oh, my gosh. >> reporter: on friday an ef2 tornado with 125 miles an hour wind tore through the coastal town of mansita, oregon, up rooting trees, downing power lines and damaging homes and businesses. bill panos saw it happen. >> it looked like the wizard of oz. that is what it looked like. it just, things were just moving like this. then you could see trees snapping like twigs. >> reporter: in portland streets turned into rivers and several inches of rain flooded parts of the city. seattle has now had more rainfall in the past two days then it got in the previous three months, combined. this monster of a storm system is remnants of the powerful pacific typhoon, it has hit washington and oregon for nearly three days now, tens of thousands of people have lost power and fallen trees have caused injuries.

happening right now. cherri gregg from our sister station kyw news radio is live from the art museum where runners are registering as we speak. are you seeing a lot of people out there just yet. >> reporter: good morning, rahel, yes, buzz is starting as you can see behind me the the setup is picking up as folks begin to show up, register for the run portion of the event which begins in just about an hour. for 30 years, this run has been going on, bringing folks into try to raise money to help stop the hiv and aid epidemic and one very important parties dealing with folks who use intravenous drugs. i want to bring in elvis rose toe, how are you doing. >> great, how are you. >> elvis works for prevention point and i will let them explain what they do because it is some what controversial in today's times. tell us bit. >> prevention point originally started as a needle exchange program back in the 90's and it was as a result of injection drug users were

getting, infect with hiv at a rate of 50 percent. as a result, prevention point has grown into a multi service agency now, all of our services for the most part are free and as a result of that we're the only needle exchange program in the country that has an hiv clinic attached to it. as a result, also, the the work that prevention point has done throughout the years, injection drug users are now getting infected at a rate of 5 percent. >> reporter: from 50 percent, to 5 percent. these are folks because heroin epidemic in pennsylvania especially i mean you have hundreds of people dying every year and thousands using the drug so you guys really keep these folks healthy until they can get treatment. >> yes, everything from making sure that they have medications to food, trying to plug people back into drug treatment, we also do a lot of the the narcan training in the city, overdose reversals training in the city. it is for the most part about trying to keep people alive, until they are ready to keep

themselves alive. >> reporter: every time i had to get a visit to prevention point every time people come into exchange needles they have services there saying maybe you want to come and get some treatment. >> we try to make sure that we have a full multitude of services for the individual. a lot of our clients are homeless addicts so we have everything from food, to showers, to, you know, drug and alcohol services and hiv services. >> reporter: wonderful. thousands of folks will be here today, money raised goes to help the aids fund hi will provide grants directly to individuals who are suffering with hiv, to help them get the care that they need, the run portion of the event kicks off at 7:30 walk at 9:00 this morning. live, eakins oval, cherri gregg for kyw news radio for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". susan komen three day to fight breast cancer wraps up to day. overnight 1,000 walkers were inside resting at the path convention center. they have had a hot shower, meal ape now relaxing before they embark on their final leg

of the 60-mile journey. yesterday they completed 20 miles of the walk, many are survivors who not only raise money for cancer research but they raise awareness. so that others can fight the disease and survive. today they will walk to the philadelphia navy yard. and now we are thrilled to bring you a happy ending for a horse that was in danger. earlier this month we brought you story of cyrus the clydesdale who was crane lifted from the mud. the farm thinks she may have been chased and got stuck but thankfully he is okay and on his way to a new home but in the the before a big send off.
