probation or house arrest, so she can be at home to raise her two teenage sons. kane argues that the loss of her career, her law license, and her reputation, are enough. but prosecutors call her crimes aggregious, and pushing for jail time. >> this all come after kane was convicted this summer on all nine count of perjury and obstruction of justice. during the trial the prosecution told story of attorney general fall from grace, at first enjoyed mostly positive press, but soon that changed, top deputies and sees orthopedics prosecutors started to leave. prosecutors say a calculated scheme and to embarrass a rival prosecutor led to leak grand jury documents, kane had a campaign consult and the pass those confidential files to a newspaper reporter. she then tried to frame someone else with the leak. kane did not testify at the august trial. so sentencing is scheduled to happen here at the montgomery county courthouse right around 10:00 this morning, of course we will be here to cover it all. for now live in norristown,

investigators tell it is, the neighbor found the man and woman both in their 50's, yesterday, in the 2700 block of 11th street. they believe both died in the home. no details on cause of death. >> two police officers had to shoot and kill a dog in southwest philadelphia. it happened yesterday, in the 6500 block of greenway avenue. police say a man was bitten in the face by a stray pitbull he found a few days before. a woman did try to stab the dog, but the dog would not let go. the man was treated at the hospital. >> well, in port richmond, family dog is being hailed a hero this morning, after it owners life was saved after it was caught in a fire. flames broke out before 4:30, 3100 block of memphis street. neighbors say the dog's barking woke everyone up. when firefighters arrived they found andrea and her dog, shea, unconscious on the living room floor. >> they found her on the floor in the living room, the dog was on top of her, i guess he tried to protect her.

shea was a good dog so that's what shea did. >> she suffered burns to more than half of her body. she is in critical condition. shea is being treated for smoke inhalation at an animal hospital. >> good monday because they did it, the eagles knock off the nfl last unbeaten team, leading into second place in the nfc eels. birds scored only one offensive touchdown against the vikings yesterday, they pulled away thanks to their tough defense. eagles defense controlled the vikings all day. they sacked former eagles quarterback sam bradford six times, forced bradford into first three turnovers of the season. eagles win 21 to ten. coach pederson say the game plan targeted bradford. >> great gahm plane, again it, start up front, but just sometimes just changing things up, to help your guys be in position, we benefitted from this that today. guys did a nice job. >> and in the crowd yesterday, at the linc, angels all-star

>> we're back with something you don't see everyday. rv caring marijuana can i goes up in flames on the delaware memorial bridge. >> this was the scene yesterday as the fire shut down the northbound lanes of the bridge. the companies owner says the van was on it way to new york, to visit college campuses, when it caught fire. no one was injured. meanwhile, tragedy on the highway in southern california, 13 people are dead, after their tour business slammed into a tractor-trailer this weekend. >> now investigators are trying to figure out how it happened. cbs correspondent chris

martinez is on the scene in north palm springs. >> a crane was needed to separate a tour bus and tractor-trailer on interstate ten in north palm springs, california, the bus plowed into the back of the truck, very early sunday morning. >> in almost 35 years, i've never been to a crash where there has been 13 confirmed fatal accidents. so it is tough. >> survivor told police, most of the passengers were sleeping at the time of the crash. first responders use ladders to reach the victims, because the door was inaccessible. >> the trailer itself entered about 15 feet into the bus. so you can see that it was substantial impact. the bus is traveling significantly faster than the tractor-trailer that it struck from behind. >> the bus driver died in the crash while the truck driver was injured, as were dozens every bus passengers. >> changes on most of the victims were unrestrained, and therefore, flown through the

air, and ended up sustaining facial trauma. >> the bus was headed west on i10 back to los angeles from a casino near palm springs. police say the 1996 bus was inspected earlier this year. >> and no mechanical deficiencies were noted. >> federal records show the bus company involved owned one bus, and had one driver. chris martinez, cbs-3, "eyewitness news". switching gears now, with halloween just week away, most people aren't thinking about snow just yet. >> how much, it is looking a little more like winter up north. take a look at this, some areas of vermont got hit with over 9 inches of snow over the weekend, green mountain power reported nearly 3,000 people were without power in southern vermont. but for ski resort, this could be a good sign for the season ahead. >> well, time now 4:42. >> let's get check on weather. katie, i guess we can't complain about cold weather when we see things like that? >> up across new england, a lot chillier, do have couple of showers, you know, actually

still disturbance still moving through the area, but right now, very quiet at least in the city of philadelphia, as we overlook it here from palmyra cover nature park. tranquil beginning to the morning, still tad breezy though. the running theme region wide throughout the course of the day. aforementioned disturbance, right now, actually too mild for anything but plane old rain, even up across connecticut, rhode island, generally speaking see more sun than anything here today. now, bigger pictures, actually very, very tranquil. you look east of the mississippi of the other that this disturbance, it is just quiet, which is lovely to see. don't have to worry about any major storm systems across good portion of the united states, however, eventually there is going to be the potential for rain. we do have these side issues, namely here, it is the wind. that will continue to again be something you in the throughout the course of the next few days, also see sunshine, trade off there. we look forward in the forecast, talking about sustain wind speeds that generally top off into the teens, throughout the course of the day. so this is by noontime. still holding tough.

likely to be little breezier at the immediate shore line. but even toward the tail end of the day, it does look like we will still have the breeze overnight it, should taper off at least little bit. although down the shore could you still have to suffer through the breeze right through the overnight hours. meanwhile, temperatures as they stands into the mid or up ear's, couple of low six off's, wildwood. but when you look at the broad picture here, we don't stand alone. actually cold nerve birmingham right now than it is here in philly. so it gives awe sense that the chill absolutely settled in through the course of the weekends, it hasn't had a chance to really respond yet. now we would be able to continue the warming trend if it weren't for another cold front scheduled to cross through, even though it comes through very quietly it does obviously knock our temperatures back. so the majority of the work week below average, substancially so, into the 50's at best, by thursday, new round every rain likely, and at this point it is looking like primarily the p.m. hours, that will be affected. meisha, over to you. >> all right, katie, thank you so much. good morning, everyone, happy

mondayment looking at roads, 95 south at girard, what you are looking at, i would say even in the past ten minute, slowly starting to pick up little bit. we can expect that on a monday, probably pretty busy today. snow is a look outside for you, a lot of vehicles out there, boulevard southbound moving in the southbound direction toward the schuylkill. you can see what it is looking like there again it is looking good, it is looking how it should. but i will warn, that there is when we start to see this many vehicles out there even before the 5:00 hour, good indicator by 5:30, moving into the 6:00 it will heat up little bit. schuylkill headlights eastbound direction at gladwynn, what it is looking like there, actually looking pretty good. still quiet on the schuylkill. construction northeast construction between lansdowne, quakertown, right lanes blocked, both directions there, for that construction project. plus pa turnpike at bensalem on the ramps both directions. heads up on that for those of you jumping on the pa turnpike. ninety-five just this is just reminder northbound between delaware service area and christianna, right lane

>> good morning, happy monday to you, we are welcoming the work week in with a seasonable forecast for you. overall a very quiet one. that said, there are couple of rain chances along the way. the other side issue will be wind that we have to contend with for the next few days, as well. how much, along the way, the winds does eventually taper off. specifically into the mid week you could even see little bit of frost. so let's get you out there, just to start things off. look at the bethlehem field camera, outside from high atop hotel bethlehem off in the distance. see sheen on the road surface, has been little rain rolled on through.

generally speaking we are going to see things drying out pretty quickly here this morning. let's go next to storm scan. you'll see the left over speckles of green when i put things into motion, you can see, where it came from. it was a steadier batch of rain in fact that rolled through lehigh, northampton county, now tapering off. that's just a sign that this latest little disturbance is nudging on out of here. meantime, a lot chillier going further north. allentown only at 48 degrees, but we are at least flirting with or actually into the low 60s in many locations at the moment. fifty-nine in palmyra. mid 50's generally through some of the outlying suburbs north of the city. but, as the day goes on, we expect very typical day. you know, normal high is right around 64, so nod bad, we cool off again come tomorrow, wednesday, and thursday for that matter. now, especially heading into thursday morning, and even wednesday morning, i do think you could end up with maybe little frost out there. so that's where the potential goes talking temperatures that bottom out in the 30's, those couple of mornings, that's philadelphia temperature, first time this season, but by
