mark in some spots. the lets look at what we are feeling right now. we can feel the chill. temperatures in the the lower 50's. about 10 degrees below average. we should be around 54. it is only 53 in the city. only 49 in allentown. chilly 40 degrees in mount pocono. again once that sun goes down these temperatures will plumet. the expected low in the city tonight, 38 degrees, that is 7 f 45, this is coldest night since april 10th of this past spring, it has been a very warm stretch but now, things are changing. here's what to expect when you wake up tomorrow morning 6:00 a.m. upper 30's in philadelphia. look at northwestern suburbs at or below freezing. the mount pocono, allentown, reading, lancaster. those are parts of the area contains in the freeze warning. anywhere shaded in purple that does include lehigh valley as well that is freeze warning for you, a frost advisory has been issued for city and suburbs lower bucks, montgomery, delaware county, cape may county and southern, delaware as well.

these are spots where temperatures will fall in the mid to upper 30's. cold enough for some frost but not the cold enough for a hard freeze, but a hard freeze does mean end of the growing season for many spots across our area, sure sign that winter is not far away, another sign that maybe some sleet, snow or freezing rain for portions of our area thursday, coming up we will break that down when i join you inside. for now back to you. two suspects are dead following a police raid in maryland. that is on the delaware/maryland border. it unfold at new easton inn on east pull ascy highway. we now have the latest developments live from the scene. >> reporter: two suspects were armed, fugitives wanted in delaware on felony charges. the search ended here, as this motel was not the way police intended. the swat team was seen here going from door to door to ensure other hotel guests are safe making their way past a window riddled with bullets after police opened fire. shots rang out just before ten this morning, cecil county

sheriff and maryland state police officers tracking down two fugitives from dover, delaware at new easton inn on route 40 in maryland. man and woman wanted on felony gun charges in connection with the delaware shooting. officials say that they refused several commands to earned iser. >> the male suspect stepped out, raised a handgun, refused to obey order of the the police officers, and the officers, fired. he was wounded. seconds later a female suspect came out armed with the handgun and raised that handgun, again refusing orders, and officers shot for as well. >> reporter: both suspects were declared dead at the scene, investigators say they are both 25 year-old but not the yet releasing their identity. reporting from el kton maryland, amy yensi, cbs-3 eyewitness muse. philadelphia police hope you recognize this man, they say he stole a section of the brass railing from the staircase at philadelphia's historic union league. the it happened early monday

morning on south broad street. surveillance video shows that suspect walking with the brass railing, that union league officials say he removed with his bear hand. part of the building, staircase also collapsed. union league says it will replace stairs and railing as soon as possible. also in center city someone smash the front window of boyds on 18th and chestnut. police were called to that store around 4:45 after a burglar a alarm sounded. authorities say that in addition to that shattered window they found some window display and car bumper on the sidewalk. it is unclear if anything was taken from the store, it remains under investigation. former pennsylvania attorney general kathleen kane is out of jail on bail after serving about two hours of a ten to 23 month sentence for leaking grand jury documents. tonight, as kane appeals her conviction we are a closer look at the where she will serve time and what her life will be like behind bars. the from statements made by kane's legal team it would be a sure bet that commonwealth disgraced ex-attorney general would request placement in protective custody. >> if she so chooses to be in protective custody we would act accordingly to her wishes even if we deemed she needed to be segregated, we will treat her just like everybody else. >> reporter: full work up is done of all inmates, charges, bail, prior offenses, drug and alcohol abuse are all factored in. statements made on behalf of kane in court suggested sending her to prison would be a death sentence. its claims former offices work in breaking up heroin networks makes her a target. prison officials didn't have much reaction to that except to say. >> our goal, it is to make sure that nothing happens that shouldn't happen. >> reporter: now, of course, if kane was to gamble and choose general population, that would be a unit in the women's ward. we are going to take new to that unit coming up at 6:00,

kane's strategy is she beats this on appeal but legal experts say that is a significant long shot. ill will's see new an hour. live from eagleville, montgomery county joe holden for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". well, tonight path attorney pike's northeast extension is back opened after a crash involving four tractor trailers. it happened on the northbound side between lansdale and quakertown exits around 5:15 this morning. police say none of the truck drivers were seriously hurt. the crash caused a serious backlog in the morning rush getting underway. highway reopened about two hours ago. a gunman returns to its former work place and goes on a deadly shooting spree. violence happened at freight car america in roanoke, virginia. investigators say suspect rode his bike to the plant this morning. he then shot and killed an employee and wounded three others before taking his own life. the suspect was from kenya and came to virginia as part of the refugee program. police say this was not the a terror attack. manhunt is underway for

suspect who shot two people and two police officers near oklahoma city. mimal van has been posting live video messaging on facebook while on the run in the stolen pickup truck. he was last seen machine when investigators say he pulled an assault rifle on officers attempting to question him, and they say van fired several shots. >> unaudible. >> you want to know what is up next? stay tuned tour local news. >> investigators say van was wanted on previous charges of child sexual abuse. investigators are on the scene of the freak theme park accident in queensland australia. officials say four people were killed, accident happened on a river rapid ride at dream world park. >> we are deeply shocked is and saddened by this and in our hearts, and our thoughts, go to the families involved. >> reporter: at one of the the australia's most popular parks, police say just after

to start first with why philadelphia, we know you guys that we have heard from trump that he thinks the election is rigged here. we have heard from locally lex officials who say we are confident in the election result here. what did you find today. >> reporter: of course, g.o.p. nominee has put focus on pennsylvania, and philadelphia, specifically, we're also talking to a cyber security expert who says that there are voting machines in this state are vulnerable, to tampering. that is something we're looking at in our report on the "cbs evening news" with scott pelley tonight. >> when you mentioned vulnerability, was tampering are they talking about cyber attacks in that situation. >> reporter: well, no because these machines are electronic but they are not connect to the internet. so it doesn't appear in this case in this state that they could be vulnerable to a cyber attack but they could, according to this cyber security expert, we spoke with, be vulnerable to

your age enough. >> no. >> reporter: what could they learn from you. >> new ideas, even better ideas. >> reporter: these students say they learned voting empowers them to shape the future. rocks san, cbs news, newark, new jersey. another student polled by scholastic shows students choosing hillary clinton by a larger margin 52 to 35 percent. that poll had mirrored election results since 1964. justin timberlake may be in trouble for snapping a selfie as he voted inside a polling station in his home town of memphis. he posted photo on instagram. tennessee state law bans selfies at polling stations. law enforcement say they are investigating. be careful ballot selfies are illegal in many states including new jersey. legal status is mixed in pennsylvania revealing your ballot is against the law but state officials say recent court cases found a first amendment right to take ballot selfies. and delaware has a policy
