"eyewitness news" reporter joe holden is live outside montgomery county correctional facility with a exclusive look at life on the inside, joe. >> reporter: jessica, ukee, good evening. at this point right now kathleen kane got about a two hour taste of what life is like behind these walls, it is expected that she will go into segregated population but we did get a look at women's ward if she chooses to go that route. kathleen kane was to roll role dice and choose to spend her time in general population she would live here for first month. this is u2, women's wing of the montgomery county corrections fat it is. in take area as it is called was cold, full of stainless steel surfaces, bunk beds and

fluorescent lighting. >> this is not shawshank redemption it is in the like tv, you know, we are professionals here. >> reporter: on our exclusive tour of the prison we saw about a dozen inmates doing odd jobs, sweeping, mopping, kane could land one of those jobs if she chose general population but that is unlikely according to arguments about her safety made by her lawyers. in interviews with prison officials we have learned kane can choose protective custody but those inmates are significantly limited in what they can do. >> with protective custody type classification she would have capability to come out during the course of her day and this were going head count. >> reporter: kane was here after her ten to 23 month sentens was landed down. it took her family 45 minutes to raise the 75 grand to bail her out. inmates said this area chatted about it and were confused how kane managed to be released. county judge presiding allowed it while kane's appeal thinks

square park. this is the suspect 17 year-old man, who surrendered to authorities saturday and facing numerous charges including attempted murder. on october 18th police say he opened fire on a good samaritan trying to stop him from committing a robbery. that good samaritan was shot multiple times and is now recovering. two suspects from dover delaware were killed in an armed standoff with police in maryland this morning. it unfolded at new eastern inn on ease pull ascy highway on the delaware maryland border. brandon jones and cecily porter were fugitives. they were wanted on felony gun charges, in connection with the delaware shooting. police say officers were forced to open fire where the suspect brandished handguns and refused to drop them. the weapons turnout to be bee bee guns. no one else was hurt. october chillies moving in the region prompting a freeze warning for on is areas, meteorologist kate bilo is live on the cbs-3 sky deck and kate, whipping wind have of change are coming our way.
