"eyewitness news" reporter justin finch is live at birmingham township and really cool night for fire fighters. >> rahel, jim, good morning. birmingham township police are back on the scene to secure that home telling us that state and local fire marshals will need that home secured as they continue their robe into the fatal house fire overnight. lets take to you video of the aftermath of the overnight fire fight on the 300 block of south birmingham road, that is just north of the brandywine creek state park and west of 202. first call that the fire came in close to 11:10 and that

blaze took an hour to bring under control. tanker trucks hauled in water so crews could continue dousing flames and hot spots at the this single story house and then by midnight that sad sign a request for medical examiner and a victim found inside, a few hours later a loved one did show up to identified that lone fire victim and details about that person have not yet been released, this morning. looking live, the restoration work at south birmingham road here you can see that boarding is going up around that home. we are told that the damage to this house is so extensive that the cost for the search for the fire will continue in today light hours here, good morning. we have one person who has died as a result, no word of any other injuries at this time fire fighters or surveillance but police will have more on the fire later on this morning, rahel and jim back inside to you. another fire overnight

this follows a series of attacks on temple university students and police. in one incident surveillance video captured a mob of kids, beating and robbing three temple students, friday night, and another mob assaulted and robbed three people, on the 1700 block of cecil b more avenue. four teens have been arrested. >> we will continue to to do what we have to do to keep people safe here. i mean, these things happened, and we don't like when they happen. we are embarrassed and disgusted when it happens. we will continue to work with everybody in the temple community, community surrounding the temple campus and everyone in the city to get ourselves in the the better place. >> police from both philadelphia and temple university plan to increase patrols. teenager mehdi fraiji is charged with attempted murder after a shooting in rittenhouse square. police say the 17 year-old suspect shot a man multiple times last week after a man tried to stop mehdi fraiji from robbing a couple. he turned himself into police saturday and victim is now recovering. it doesens of nearby neighbors are discussing neighbors to

"eyewitness news" reportser justin finch is live at the scene this birmingham township. justin, good morning. >> reporter: good morning. significant indeed, in fact, restoration work is underway right now as is search for a cause for this overnight fire that did claim one life overnight. hours after the blaze was out fire crews remained on the scene as state, local investigators got to work. by midnight a sad sign a

request for the medical examiner, one victim found. the within a few hours loved one showed up to identify that lone fire victim, "eyewitness news" was there as fire fighters pulled water from tanker trucks to keep dousing flames and hot spots at this single story house on the 1300 block of south birmingham road, first calls for fire came in close to 11:10 last night as blaze took an hour to income down. we are told search for a cause may take sometime because damage to this house is just so severe. back live, again restoration work going on here at the this home and we are told that search for a cause will continue in daylight hours. township police telling us they will release more information about the fire, the victim and other details, later on this morning. we did also see a smoke alarm here on the scene, no word if that was working at the time of the fire and again one person dead and in reports of any other injuries this morning. rahel and jim back inside to

you. meanwhile "eyewitness news" has an exclusive look at the what former pennsylvania attorney general kathleen kane's life will be like once she's in jail. kane was sentenced to ten to 23 months for leaking grand jury information, while she's free, right now, while she appeals. if and when she serves time she will do it at montgomery county correctional facility in eagleville. this is what it looks like inside the jail. kane could choose to be in the general population and likely get a job sweeping, mopping or she could choose protective custody but in those cases inmates are significantly limited in what they can do. >> with a protective custody type classification she would have capability to come out of her cell during the course of the the day unless we're again doing a head count. >> kane was at jail briefly after her sentence was handed down. it took about 45 minutes for her family to raise $75,000 to bail her out. just 13 days left in
