this is unfolding this chester township. "eyewitness news" reporter anita oh joins us live with the developing details, good afternoon, anita. >> reporter: good afternoon, jim, and jan. we are told both of those trains crashed straight into each other around 8:30 this morning. we are told that four csx work are have minor yours but they are expect to be okay. as you can see behind me, one of those trains is sitting right on top of the other one, they are on the same track. now, chopper three was over the scene earlier this morning, we are here, by the tracks off concord road in chester township. fire officials tell me that one of the trains was leaking an unknown amount of diesel fuel but that spill has been contained and hazmat crews are working to clean up this spill now. as far as your, all four again are csx crew members, two of them from each train. they are all expect to be okay. chester township's fire chief jeff comeshack tells me injured workers were walking

around and talking when crew is a arrived but two of them are being checked out at crozer-chester medical center right now. we know one was carrying milk goods, other had 64 empty cars. one of the trains was traveling from richmond, virginia to new jersey. the other was going from canada to atlanta, georgia. we spoke with the neighbor who described what he heard, when the trains collided. >> it sounded like somebody kick my friend's door in. we ran outside, and i mean i saw the trains crashing. >> reporter: we do not know at this time why those trains collided, that is all still under csx investigation, although, investigators do tell us that one of the trains blown a stop sign or was not supposed to be the at track at this time. live from chester township anita oh for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". this is second rail crash in that area in matter of six months. in chester city last april, two workers were killed when an amtrak train struck a piece

of construction equipment on the track. dozens of people on the train were hurt, the official cause of that crash remains under investigation. major lane closures on the pennsylvania turnpike this noon. the turnpike is currently closed in both directions, between the delaware river bridge, and bensalem interchanges. that is after the bed of a dump truck got caught up in live wires, during the morning commute. traffic is still backup as maintenance and emergency crews are on the scene. both eastbound lanes were shut down to allow westbound traffic to divert, through the inner lanes which were under construction. authorities are estimating the closures to last until about two or 3:00 this afternoon. now in campaign 2016 donald trump's running mate mike pence is back on the campaign trail in our area after a scary landing at new york's laguardia airport last night. pence will rally with supporters in bucks county this a afternoon. >> reporter: hi jan, people have within here for a couple hours on a breezy kay here in bensalem, bucks county. there is probably 200 people behind me waiting to get in, governor pence will speak at 2:00. lets talk about what happened last night. this happened in laguardia, the trump/pence train skidded off the runway. no serious injuries. just under 50 people on board, lot of campaign staff, some members of the press core, but nobody was hurt. that was the main thing. governor pence was on cbs this morning, talking about the events, just a few hours ago. >> we're great, thank god, and just a very grateful for the concern expressed for us. there was ten seconds of uncertainty as we landed, we had a low ceiling, came in, but once we were on the ground, you could tell they were trying to brake, stop the aircraft as quickly as possible. it slid back and forth a little bit and then left the

it felt really chilly. that win was hug for a short time there. it is still definitely noticeable but depending where you are it is making it feel colder. here in philadelphia, what you see is essentially what you are getting with the the thermometer readings. just like that wind picks up, lets go to the graphic and save me my hair day dignity. lets take a look. storm scan is quiet. basically empty. we did see high clouds moving in the late morning just left over moisture remnants on the back side of our cold front but at the moment we have nothing but bright, blue sky overhead, look at the temperatures. they tell the story, for one thing it is colder toward mount pocono, by almost 20 degrees here. fifty-two currently at philly international. fifty-four in atlantic city. wind speeds are noticeable. they are coming out of the northwest as high as the mid 20's, and what that does is, of course, make it feel colder then it actually reads for some of you. here in philadelphia it still feels close to what the thermometer read because the wind is off and on but in a

place like mount pocono at high noon it feels like it is only 25 right now. very chilly beginning to the afternoon up that way, but with that said around the region as a whole we didn't expect to read out all that much. we had a potent cold front passage obviously. we expect to flirt with 60 but you won't hit it. forty-six at best, up in the poconos, and we will hit 57 degrees, meanwhile here in philadelphia. as we head to the weekend not only is the worst of this blusterly wind taper off but we are looking ahead to the significant warming trend. coming up later we will talk about that good news how warm it will get but also i've got details on what promises to be a decent halloween forecast, down the road, as well, so stay there for the full forecast later on, guys, back to you. >> i'll take it, thank you. a warning now from lower merion police about a new scam hitting our area. conn artists are looking to cash in on cheating spouses. it is in the form of the personally addressed letter saying that scammers have evidence that you cheated on your spouse and if you do not

well, traffic was at a stand still this morning on the george washington bridge, as a man tried to climb a tower on the new jersey side of the span. police arrested the climber at around 9:00 this morning have after shutting down, all lanes on the bridges upper level. traffic had to be diverted to the lower lanes, of the two level bridge. morning announcements were incredibly special at samuel powell elementary school. >> that is right one little girl got the surprise of her life. lets take a look at this heart warming reunion. >> that student grace thurmond happily reuniting with her mother jillian. jillian just returned home from afghanistan after serving her country overseas for the past year. military home coming was a surprise for jillian's sister who works at the school, the surprise happened during this

the weather and four years ago can you believe it, hurricane sandy was barreling toward us. to me it feels like it was just yesterday but same time time just stood still. it was just a whirlwind trying to recover from that storm. we will talk about what has gone on since then and also give you a totally opposite forecast, coming up here this weekend as we mark that four year anniversary. lets go outside first, toe skies scan three which is showing a empty, but very quiet view of ocean city. and, just actually about 17 miles away, give or take from where sandy ended up making her land fall in 2012. but it is very tranquil right now, and although, you do have the breeze and that will be noticeable throughout the rest of the day. the lets take a look back in time at visible satellite loop from where sandy moved in. you can see it start to go dark because visible satellite where light of day is very much a part of why you cane the cloud rolling in here as that storm made its land fall

the point on halloween day we are back in the sunshine but it is a lot will cooler. we will go from the mid 70's to only 60 on monday itself but in the sunshine. the at the moment though quick look at area temperatures, 51 currently at the era port, feels like 52, but we are up at 48 in trenton and allentown. not expecting too much movement on the thermometer give you another 5 degrees at most, in philadelphia. fifty-two outside middletown ship high school this cape may courthouse. beautiful view overlooking that area. we have our friday football frenzy game of the week taking place between council rock north and council rock south, very big rivalry i'm told and wind will be, still whipping for that. if you are going out to any high school football game tonight i suggest having a blanket to put over your knees. it will be on the chilly side in the stand. meanwhile moving forward in the eyewitness heather seven day we go from the upper 50's, gusty wind to, a really nice little dose of, say, early fall, really comfortable out there. we will get to 74 on sunday. and then, creepy, cooler is
