from septa headquarters in center city. cherri, septa riders are worried this could becoming so close to election day, good morning. >> reporter: good morning, yes. this makes this strike a major concern not just to commuters but also voters because many people use public transportation to get to the polls so folks are concerned that a strike could impact turnout. but it could really impact if it does come tuesday if negotiation does not soon reach resolution. septa officials spent several hours, saturday, negotiating with transportation workers union local 234 leadership. they ended without a resolution. the city, school district and a number of major employers are working on contingency plans for workers because if the the parties are unable to reach agreement by midnight on monday at 12:01 tuesday, anyone using bus routes, the market frankford line, the broad street line or trolleys

will to have find another mode of transportation. the big sticking points for the 5700 septa workers are health and pension benefits. the line in the sand has been drawn. the signs are prepared, for the picket lines. while many commuters are sympathetic with the workers they are growing frustration is clear. >> the focus is with septa. it always comes down to the bottom. they don't care about the worker. some people will lose their jobs. >> it comes to this point every year. every year. i wonder why the city doesn't try another bus service. just try a bus service so septa could have something to compete against. >> reporter: now last time septa went on strike it was 2009 and that strike lasted about six days. so, even if there is a strike that begins on tuesday, there is a chance that it could be hashed out before election day, the other option, of course is for septa union workers to push that strike deadline, until have after the

election, we will see what happens as this continue, live at the septa headquarters, cherri gregg for kyw news radio for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". >> cherri, hopefully they will get to a agreement. thank you. this morning a man is dead and another is in the hospital after a shooting in northeast philadelphia. it happened at around 4:00 in the 700 block of adams avenue. police say they took one man to the hospital, paramedics took the second who was pronounced dead there third person was found beaten. no arrests have been made just yet. at least one person is in custody after an officer involved shooting in philadelphia the it happened in the 900 block of north front street, just after 10:00 . officers on patrol said they heard shots being fired, when they arrived, the officers fired, but no one was hurt. at least one person was arrested after that. in word on what prompted the original shooting. and a man is in the hospital after being shot in the stomach, this happened, in the 5500 block of rising sun avenue. fire fighters say that the three three-year old man was taken to einstein medical center in critical condition.

so far, no arrests, no word on what led to the shooting either. well, hillary clinton is campaigning in florida today while donald trump stumped for votes in nevada, colorado and new mexico. fbi reopened criminal investigation in clinton's private e-mail server continues to dominate the campaign. brooks silva-braga has more on the fall out. >> reporter: hillary clinton's campaign called fbi director james comey letter to congress long on innuendo and short on facts. comey wrote new e-mails have been found related to clinton's use of the private e-mail server but could not say if they were significant. >> it is pretty strange to put something like that out, with such little information right before an election. >> we have called on director comey to explain everything right away and put it all out on the table. >> reporter: cbs news has learned more than a thousand e-mails some work related were found in the lap top belong to go clinton aid huma aberdeen

now just nine days before voters head to the polls to pick our next president, stay with "eyewitness news" as we cover campaign 2015. we're also on line at cbs philly.com. a police involve shooting is under investigation in haddon township new jersey. it happened yesterday morning at route 130 and 158, investigators say a township police officers struggled with the driver of the car have after he allegedly sped from the traffic stop. during the struggle the officer shot the driver in the the lower body, and he was not seriously wounded, the officer was not injured. in bucks county three teens are charged in the fatal shooting of a former pen ridge high school football player. investigators say that lewis was gunned down during a robbery at colt memorial park in perkasie. it happened around 12:30. lewis was 2015 pen ridge graduate. well, it may be one of the most anticipated eagles game of the year when birds face the cowboys. showdown happens tonight in texas and lots of eagles fans made the trip to the lone star state to cheer on the bird. sports director don bell

get heavier showers. mid 70's for philadelphia and the shore near 60 degrees for a high in the poconos. temperatures do take a hit tomorrow for halloween. typical fall-like stuff but if you like it warm wait a few more days and we will have another warm up in a few more minutes. rahel, back to you. >> thanks, justin. thousands of people throughout the region may have a hard time getting to work this week if septa cannot reach a deal with the transport workers union. cherri gregg from our sister station kyw news radio is live from septa headquarter in center city and what is septa doing in case of the talks breaking down. >> reporter: good morning, rahel, yeah, i mean there is a lot of contingencies being put into place right now in anticipation of a potential strike beginning on tuesday, including this guide that septa agency just put together on their web site but what this does basically is provide the details on the interruptions that would take place if the parties are unable to to reach an agreement to try to prevent that scramble.

septa officials spent hours negotiating with transportation workers local union leaders saturday but called it a night around 10:00 . those sessions will resume today but if there is no agreement by midnight monday the only public transportation will be regional rail to get in and around philadelphia. this will force tens of thousands toss find other modes of transportation, like uber and lyft which could hurt those with lower income and leave many others scrambling. to prevent the chaos, septa has already created a contingency guide to stop growing fears but the timing of the potential strike is heightening momentum, if the strikings into place on tuesday, it will be a exactly one week before election day. grass roots groups and commuters are growing frustrated and concerned about what is to come. >> school to work, yeah, business meetings, everything. so it is really inconvenient.

from the hotel bethlehem looking at downtown, south, we are partly cloudy sky right now. temperatures comfortable in the lehigh valley. sixty's on our way up to the 70's even that far north. up and down temperatures all week long. it is something for everybody on this menu. average high is 62 degrees today. way above that. mid 70's, maybe upper 70's in the hot spots. then tomorrow we will take a hit. we will go below average, that puts our high temperatures in the the 50's for halloween. the good news is we will be dry, and then by middle of the week wednesday and thursday, some more warm data head, temperatures will return in the 70's. now here's the reason for warmth. we have a cold front strong front, situated just to the north of us right now. we have a lot of warmth situated over delaware valley and points southward. that front clears us later this afternoon into tonight, and brings some showers, but also brings some cooler air. big difference tomorrow, but we're talking about temperatures returning below average. but only sticks around for one day. then we will warm things up again. showers, over the eastern great lakes right now,
