two police officers have been killed. both officers were ambush in separate locations. the attacks happened 20 minutes apart. the first coming in the des moines suburb of urban dale a few blocks away a des moines officer was shot and killed. they are putting together suspect information but again, two police officers shot ape killed in iowa. we will continue to follow this but back here at home it is back to the bargaining table on day two of the septa strike. >> both labor and management are trying to break grid lock standing in the way of the new contract. congressman bob brady. congressman tells "eyewitness news" that the two side are making progress, they have been talking through a mediator but no middle ground has been found just yet. septa and local 234 resume negotiations late yesterday after about 5,000 members of the the transport workers union went on strike earlier in the day. the strike now in day two had sidelined septa's trolleys, buses, and leaving hundreds of thousands toss find other mode of transportation. main sticking points in these negotiations are work rules and health care benefits but the biggest issue of all is pensions. hourly employees reportedly want opportunity to contribute full toy a personal pension plan which is what we're told supervisors are allowed to do. congressman prayed i say negotiations are moving in the right direction. >> right now it is all about pensions. there is a box. they have to try to figure out bean counter try to stay within that box and that is what they are trying to do. mediator going back and forth with different proposals.
