sources tell me likely for a rally monday night on independence mall. reporting live tonight, david spunt cbs3 "eyewitness news." >> thank you so much. six days and counting, election day less than a week away and you can count on "eyewitness news" news for continuing coverage of these final days of campaign 16. an iowa man is in custody tonight in the deaths of two police officers shot as they to sat in their patrol cars. the manhunt for scott green ended quietly along a rural road when he gave himself to an employee of the state department of natural resources. green is accused of fatally shooting two police officers, the first after 1:00 a.m. in green's home town. the second 20 minutes later and two miles away in des moines. after being taken into custody, green was taken to the hospital for medical treatment, possibly for seizures. a multi--day antiviolence operation in west philadelphia results in dozens of arrests. this is police video of some of that operation which focused on the 16th district.

there were 64 arrests mostly for drug sales. some violent crimes. officers also confiscated about $30,000 worth of drugs, guns and cash. local law enforcement is earning praise tonight for saving a suicidal man who jumped into delaware river. they responded to the river's edge in xamd. a man jumped into the river upon seeing them and headed to deeper water. the sheriff's officers swam out and talked to him. a few camden county metro police officers arrived. they also jumped in. >> once they were out, we were able to each grab a part of his body, leg arm and the back of his shirt, and start swimming him back in and we were able to bring him up on shore where medical personnel were waiting. >> the man who jumped was taken to cooper university hospital and is expected to recover. another incredible rescue, this one caught on cell phone video. >> straight ahead at 11:00 see
