here is a live look at the scene outside the courthouse in newark, new jersey where we are awaiting for a news conference. we have also contacted the governor christie's office for a comment and are waiting to hear back, again, two former christie allies were found guilty in the lane closing scheme, known as bridge gate. stay with "eyewitness news" for very latest on then breaking story. our other top story, end of the workweek has arrived and there is still to resolution in the contract dispute that is keeping septa bus, subway and will trolley operate are off the job and on the picket lines. we have reached day four of the strike, that has left people struggling to get to work and school. good afternoon, i'm jim donovan. i'm jan carabao. "eyewitness news" reporter alexandria hoff is live outside headquarters in center city with more on how those negotiations are going along, alex. jim, jan those talks went late last night and early this morning. they are expected to resume again shortly but without the a resolution regional rail remains to be the only way, in and around this city.

good news though today is that we have seen, as the strike persists a decrease in the major tie ups that were apparent on tuesday, the picketers blocked em lease, from operating those trains. septa tells thaws each morning they have had a meeting on passenger movement, train flow and have lee configured few areas to help with the influx of passengers. that is not to to say that commuters are not warn out, since monday at midnight, the city has been void of all subway, bus, and trolley service lines, at 4700 strong transit workers union and septa continue to hammer through negotiations. >> whenever we have both side that are talking that is always a good thing. we always want what is there for fair the employees, riders and our taxpayers. that is what we're continuing to do. we are hopefully, throughout the weekend, if not, today. >> reporter: now, september has shown interest in filing

in other news convicted child molester jerry sandusky is back in court in center county. sandusky claims his past lawyers were in effective and he wants a new trial. one of sandusky's victims is expected to testify. the court date comes aspen state has been hit with a record 2.4 million-dollar fine. that fine is as a result of the federal investigation into how penn state officials handled complaints against sandusky. this ace live look outside the courthouse in bellefonte, our greg argos is inside as rowings get underway. he will bring you a report on today's hearings beginning tonight on "eyewitness news" at 5:00. two children, 11 month-old and six year-old are hospitalized this critical condition after a house fire in philadelphia's olney section of philadelphia. fire fighters rescued both from the second floor of their home on the 300 block of shellden street late last night. fire commissioner said that the children were already in critical condition when they were raced to the hospital, but they are improving. the cause of the fire is under investigation and it noise yet

clear if the home had working smoke detectors. montgomery county police officer is recovering after being struck by a hit and run driver. it all happened around 6:00 o'clock last night at intersection of thort wales road and pull as ski drive-in whitpain township. neighbors a the officer was outlooking for a missing dog when struck. he suffered a leg injury and is in stable condition. police say that the driver's stopped for a moment, then took off, going north on north wales road. authorities are looking for a small black sedan, and if you have any information, call the whitpain township police. well, we are rolling into the weekend with sunny, cool weather, but will that change. >> lets get first look at the forecast with katie, outside on the sky deck. it looks great out there. >> yes, it feels very comfortable all things considered, guys. it is at least a cooler day, in the wake of yesterday's cold front passage but we have got bright, blue skies, barely a cloud in the sky if there are any cloud, they are very patchy and just add to go what promises to be a very nice afternoon. it is just cooler, and as long

minus four points. just four days this will election day and you can always count on "eyewitness news" for continuing coverage of the campaign 2016. in other news today cbs news has learned of a potential terror threat four days before the election. sources say u.s. intelligence has alerted the joint terrorism task force that al qaeda could be planning an attack in three states for monday, the day before the election. >> potential target include new york, texas and virginia, the credibility of the intelligence has not been confirmed. guess pagays. >> reporter: report u.s. authorities are taking this threat seriously while assessing the credibility of the intelligence but counter terrorism officials across the country have been alerted out of an abundance of caution. law enforcement sources tell cbs news that the threat comes from al qaeda and intelligence points to attacks taking place in new york, texas and virginia. but the threat information provided no specific targets for possible attacks in those states. election day approaches federal law enforcement is

blaze. disturbing discovery of a woman found chained but alive inside a shipping contain inner south carolina is leading investigators to dig deeper in to other missing person cases. >> earl barnett tells us that the man who owned the property the where the woman was found is now in custody and set to face charges. >> reporter: the victim who we will not identify was found, thursday morning, caged in a wooded area in rural south carolina. sex crime investigators got a tip to investigate the property. and heard woman's pleas for help. the sheriff chuck wright believes that the victim spent months, inside of a metal container. >> it was pretty emotional to say the least when she was found especially, you know when she was chained like a dog. she had a chain around her neck. >> reporter: police arrested the property owner, 45 year-old todd coalhand, rick tim told investigators her captor may have had a hand in other missing person cases. >> this person felt that there

perspective. yesterday was an anomaly. we don't normally have temperatures in the 70's but looking back in time, we will end up in the 70's and we will turn our focus first. what a difference one day make. yesterday's high was 72. it held back because we ended up with more cloud cover and front itself arrived sooner then originally anticipated. but today nothing better than 60. we are close to that already. observation just over my head here 62 at our station's headquarters. that is temperatures we're reading right here. but at the airport we don't second anything but 60. that is official observation we use for philadelphia. meanwhile temperature change, from this same time yesterday, it is noticeable for sure. you are almost 20 degrees chillier. yesterday dover was into the upper 70's this same time. it is markly cooler as a result of the cold front passage. but what a beautiful view, right. outside beach patrol headquarters in hard gate not 1lone person on a serene looking beach, but it is a little chilly outside obviously so i wouldn't be

shock if we didn't see anybody else walking today. but with that said quiet weather will hold for to us day. not even the mississippi but even well in the central plain states high pressure regain control and it is going to settle, for a while. there is a weak cold front that will come along out of canada, trying to bring extra included over course of the the weekend but we are not worried for wet weather for many taste yet to come. wind is one issue, one hiccup of the forecast here today, lets say from the chillier air in place and currently we have generally out of the thort/northwest as high as 15 to 20 miles an hour. the it is noticeable. you will want to have a heavier coat ready to go but sunshines brightly and does stay nice and clear tonight which is good timing, for the meteor shower. we are talking about five to zero meteors per hour. that is still a decent amount. best viewing will take place around midnight tonight, nice clear skies, for it and then this is a meteor shower, there is known for fireballs that can come with it. likely there will be lighter wind at this point too.
