>> we continue to follow breaking news, huge water main break, plus, parts of philadelphia's nicetown neighborhood, you can see the scene right here from chopper three, crews using boats to get through stranded, we're told this is 48-inch main that ruptured, good evening, i'm ukee washington. >> good evening, i'm jessica dean. that will break hopped at fox street nicetown. >> david? >> i covered two water main breaks in the last 18 months, both have been in this exact same location authority here are very upset this happened again. you can imagine the faces of people that work in this shopping plaza behind me are even more discussed by what they saw today. we have some video to show you of some of those rescues, the fire department was here little earlier helping people actually get from the shoprite to their cars, we spotted about six, seven cars that look to be probably destroyed.

we don't know at this point, but water was covering the cars at one point, and they were able to shut down the water main break, probably, about 30 minute ago. ukee, jessica, so the good news, that water is receding. but authorities with the water department have a massive problem on their hands. considering this happened once, in january, 2014. this happened in june, 2015. and this happened again, just today. >> take a listen to somebody that tells me they're pretty upset. >> people's cars are out here, new cars, old cars. i hope it is not ruined, i pray it is not. but lord just seconds from going inside of my car. >> three times in three years, there is a problem. i wouldn't have the answer we need more information. >> clearly some frustration, taking live look at chopper right now, you can still see the water although it is receding little bit, because they were able to get that under control. but, i pose the question to the water department.

they tell me clearly there is issue here. they have a problem. >> one person said it is like putting a bands aid on it, not fixing the actual problem to make sure it doesn't happen again. we'll be back here again tonight at 10:00 and 11:00. david spunt, cbs-3 "eyewitness news". >> quite a scene there david, thanks so much. >> jury finds two new jersey officials guilty on all charges in the bridgegate trial. bridget kelly, deputy chief of staff, bill barone, former executive director of the port authority, both face up to two years in prison. they were accused of plotting to create traffic jams on the george washington bridge in 2013. former christie aid david wilds steen admitted to organizing the traffic jam to punish fort lee's mayor for not endorsing christie for re-election. >> i am innocent of these charges. and i am very, very looking forward to this appeal.

>> in a statement christie said the verda firms his decision to terminate barone and kelly. he also repeated he had no knowledge of the plot and would have set record straight. >> pennsylvania state police raided the offices of field works in philadelphia today. the washington dc based group is a liberal leaning grass roots get out the vote group. according to a warrant obtained by "eyewitness news", authorities were looking in part for any templets, either physical or electronic, utilized for fraudulent voter registration forms. earlier this week, officials raided the field work office. >> commuters facing another difficult trip home tonight as the septa strike wages on, despite the threat of legal action. they were long lines at suburban station as riders wait today board regional rail trains. those are still in service. rush hour over the past four days has meant delays, and gridlock center city streets.

commuters we spoke to tonight say they are fearful some resolution will come soon. >> i'm hoping that they come to an agreement. so that i can get on the 37 bus, and go to the airport, do my job. >> without all of this nonsense, going around, all around town, just to get to one place that i can get to in a half hour. >> septa is taking legal action to get bus, is up way -- subway, trolley operators back to work, few hours ago the transit agency filed an injunction within common pleas court to end the strike. >> "eyewitness news" reporter alexandria hoff has been following the developments all day, joins us live from septa headquarters in center city with more on the argument behind the filing and what the union has to say about it. alex? >> reporter: well, ukee, this is certainly added fuel to the fire, the transit workers union said they'll fight this tooth and nail. >> though transit workers strikes have plagued septa and the city before, this is the first time in septa history that they have filed an

injunction asking the philadelphia judge to put an immediate ends to a strike. >> it constitutes clear and present danger to the health, safety, and welfare of our riders, and the citizens of philadelphia and the region. >> the injunction was filed at 3:00 p.m. in the court of common pleas. this is taking place as negotiations continue blocks away from septa headquarters, between septa officials and heads of the transit workers union. subways, buses, and trolleys have not been operating since monday at midnight when the two sides were unable to come to contract agreement. since then, concern has been spark over gridlock, and next tuesday's election, septa calls the matter critical saying that many in meade of medical assistance have had trouble obtaining it during strikes. >> it is causing students to miss school and presents a risk to citizens the rights to vote in the november 8 election. >> given that an injunction falls under emergency status, a hearing would be held immediately after lawyers for tw u2 34 are caught up on the

street after flames errupted at this row home around 9:45 thursday night. it took firefighters nearly half an hour to get the blaze under control. this is the rubble left behind from blankets, to shoes, to games. trapped on the second floor, two children reportedly ages six years old and 11 months old, who were rushed to the hospital and remain in critical condition. >> i seen the firefighters go into the windows, knock the windows down, to try to get the kids out. they was so smokey they couldn't even finds the kids. >> seeing the flames brought back heart break, her neighbor bob. >> we lost our son six years ago in a house fire. so it bridges a tear to my eye. >> still unclear officials say whether there were working smoke detectors inside, whether any department were home at the time. but neighbors say, it doesn't appear that way. >> i was told that the father did leave the kids for a second to go meet the mother at the corner to go, i guess, buy chinese food and come back, by the time he got back, the fire had already started.

>> those who live here say they're just grateful the children are safe, thanks to the work of first responders. >> the way those guys performed, the way they returned to the house with their air packs, you got to thank god we got a good fire department. >> reporting in olney, anita oh, cbs-3, "eyewitness news". a two alarm fire broke out today in montgomery county near the firefighters on the scene quickly, at route 100 county line road in bill bert ville to extinguish the fire. no injuries were reported. >> two burlington county brothers accused of killing their roommate and burying his body in the backyard of their home. these are the suspect, 27 year old christopher costello and his 24 year old brother, brian costello. police discovered the body of a 23 year old in the backyard of their home on expense or court, lumberton yesterday. two brothers charged with first degree murder and are many held on $500,000 cash bail. >> jerry sandusky was back in

a central pennsylvania courtroom today, seeking a new trial. as "eyewitness news" reporter greg argos tells us, attorneys for sandusky are alleging prosecution misconduct, and it has to do with victim number two. >> what would you like to say,er? >> no response from victim two, the now 29 year old former marine who says jerry sandusky sexually assaulted him in a penn state shower in 2001. >> he was dragged here. if he never has to talk about this again, that's what he would like. >> victim number two spent about an hour answering questions from sandusky's current attorney, al lindsay, those questions focused on why his original statements to police back in 2011 stated he was never abused by his former mentor, and why that story changed after hiring an attorney. >> it is incredibly common for victims every sexual violence to not be forthcoming initially. sometimes it takes them months, years, weeks, do you have under stands in this case there was so much pressure on this young man, there was so many things going on, and jerry was not incarcerated at

the time. >> during the 2011 trial prosecutors say victim number two was known only to god, and san it is did i defense team says only the state new who that person was but didn't trust his testimony. if that is true, that could be considered prosecution misconduct. and sandusky could receive a new trial. >> testimony from the commonwealth, they denied that he was victim number two,. >> judge will now decide whether to grant the 72 year old motion for post conviction release. now, judge says he want the motions on his desk from both sides of this case by next week no word when a final decision will be made. i'm greg argos, cbs-3, "eyewitness news". and as we continue tonight, we will take you back live to that massive water main break in nicetown, see if the water has receded any more for those workers and shoppers, stuck in that strip mall. plus this. >> i can't imagine missing out

now. big clean up is straight ahead >> the search is on tonight, to find the man who may be connected from letters dating from worlds war two. >> the letters were discovered in the medford new jersey house being renovated. and a co-worker gave them to dillon. he's now trying to find relatives of tom hazleton. he served in the navy. the letters are largely from his wife, eleanor, who lived in audubon, and hazleton's father, harry, who lives in collingswood. >> he's in the navy out in in te pacific, obviously near in audubon, but it is sad, but gives awe glimpse of what everybody went through during that time. >> the letters in his possession are only to thomas hazleton, it is clear the letters from those letters wrote back, but none of his replies are included so hopefully with all of the

the eastern half of the country, especially, even as we zoom back to the northern planes, the southern planes, just nothing going on. nothing really even on the radar that's going to head our way over the next several days. so, that's some great news. we've got stretch sunny, dry, november weather, seasonable weather as well on the way through the weekends into next week. it is 57 right now in philadelphia, 56 in you're in wilmington, 54 for reading, and 52 allentown, temperature dropping, still a bit brisk out there, although the winds are dying down just a bit. last hour we had winds about 15 miles per hour in philly, now down to ten, the winds dying down over night, it will be clear, it will be calm, and as we know, recipe for cold, 3 feet, clear, calm, cold, that's what we've got tonight. as the cool air invades through the weekends, warmth comes to ends. that being said not below average. not cold by november standards. this is just pretty normal. for the next few days we'll average right about where we should be, here in early november. as temperatures are plus or minus degree or two where they

should be. over night clear, chilly, cool night for us in philly, patchy frost will be expected in many spots, 38 degrees, especially north and west. your high for saturday, 2 degrees below the average. pretty close. 58 degrees with sunny skies. brisk day again with northwest winds, westerly in the afternoon, that's about five, we fall back this weekend sunday november 6. you want to set it clock back before you go to bed. that means the sunsets at 4:52. the warmest day of this stretch is election day tuesday. what a fantastic day it will be. nothing but sunshine, in the 60s by noon. so, again, if you average out this week, it will ends upright smack on target, for this time of year, perfect november week. we've got lots of sun, could use little rain, couple of drought watches through our area, no rain could be seen, at least until maybe next week. >> okay, thanks, kate. >> leslie, next in sports. >> we do have big game sunday, everybody still talking about
