i'm ukee washington >> i'm jessica dean. take a look at the scene at the baker center around 5:00. look at all that water goshing up. crews with rafts, a live look at chopper 3. you see the water subside. crews have brought if heavy equipment to clean up the mess. we have live team coverage. we begin with david spunt's david? >> reporter: jessica, this is has happened three times in three years at this exact same location just about 50 feet behind me, clearly, there is a problem here under ground. tonight authorities and customers are equally frustrated. 6 million gallons of water gushed out of a 100-year-old 48 inch water main in baker center in east falls. cars covered. people angry. >> they putting a band-aid on problem >> some customers had to be

rescued by firefighters on the scene using boats to bring people to safety. >> we ended up making about 60 rescues. we tried to get some of the shop owners inside their stores using boats. so they could start to mitigate some of the property damage. >> reporter: flooding in this parking lot is unfortunately nothing new. crews responded to a break in 2014. and this one in june, 2015. the june break was also 48 inches. >> this has happened three times in three years. a lot of people are frustrated about this commissioner. >> i understand that. i'm one of those. we all are. but you know, i feel terrible. >> reporter: the lines are older than 100 years, and water department commissioner deborah mccarty says there's a plan to replace the main >> we increased the capitol funding to replace up to 40 miles of main a year. >> reporter: with my news for

some who say a quick fix is a waste of time, energy and money. >> they need to fix it right. >> reporter: i covered this in 2015 about a year and a half ago. they just fixed part of the main. it was kind of patch work at the time. but commissioner mccarty said they're going to do the entire thing and wants to do it as soon as possible. david spunt cbs3 "eyewitness news" >> david, thank you and. as you saw in david's stranger huge water main break flooded both businesses and cars. a lot of damage and that mean as long clean-up ahead. nicole brewer continues team coverage with a closer look at the impact this mess is causing, nicole? >> reporter: this water main break impact add lot of people shopping here, working here at baker center and i'll tell you what, if you snagged a parking spot close to the store fronts, today, was not your day. >> mud and water started coming in to the store >> new car, old cars.

we're told that the state mediator is here at the sheridan, trying to hash out a deal on the heels of that court hearing today where no injunction was enforced all of this as the strike nears day five. still no deal and no injunction on day four of the septa strike. a judge did not end the strike today involving about 4700 members of the transport workers union local 234. septa went to court friday evening in an emergency attempt to force employees back to work. saying the strike presents a clear and present danger to the health and safety of riders. but the judge said there was a lack of evidence to back up the claim and did if the order an immediate injunction at this point. >> job number one is to settle the strike. as importantly is our passengers and we're not going to lie down why we can't resolve this strike and watch our passengers suffer >> we rook that strikes are inconvenient. but that is not a basis under pennsylvania law to grant an

injunction against striking employees. >> twu workers walk off the job shutting down busses trolleys and subways. at issue, tension healthcare and work rules. in a city where septa's records show 68% of families don't own a car, they argued there's a dire for masses transportation and with the presidential election looming, voters need to be able to get to the polls >> i don't think it's going to interfere with turn-out. people are going to come out to vote. >> reporter: well, the judge does want to a hear more evidence. she says in the injunction hearing which has now been continued into monday morning at 9:30, that, of course, is if there is no resolution here over the weekend. that is the very latest for now, reporting live in center city tonight, natasha brown, cbs3 "eyewitness news." jerry sandusky goes back to court seeking a new trial.

victim two took the stand today. that's the victim that former assistant coach mike mcsaid was assaulted boy sandusky in a shower. victim two insisted he was abused by sandusky. sandusky's lawyers say prosecutors hid information about the man during trial because his story did not help their case. today's sandusky testified that he did not abuse victim number two. >> a jury finds two new jersey officials guilty on all charges in the bridgegate trial. bridgeton kelly and biloba roanny face up to two years in prison. former aids are accused of plotting to create traffic jams on the georgia washington bridge in 13. another former aid, david wildstein admitted to organizing the traffic jams to publish the mayor. chris christie says the verdict affirmed his decision to terminate baroni and kelly. the he wanted of campaign trail is in sight. the candidates are focuses on must win pennsylvania.

freezing. it's still hanging on to 50 in philadelphia but there is still a bit of a brisk wind and that's making you feel just a little color outside. our average high for today, 60, watch out these averages drop as we head into december, one month from today, the average high 49, with january 4, average high 41, so this compared with what's headed our way, really not all that cool at all. when you wake up tomorrow morning, it's going to go chilly. 38 degrees and that will tie the season's coldest night. that's how low we've gone so far looks like we'll do it again, 35 in allentown, 39 in wilmington, 37 in millville. and a warmer 45 in wildwood. again, it's back to reality. temperatures no longer in 70's. we're right back to where we should be, temps in the upper 50's, sunny brisk and cool back to 60 sunday with high pressure overhead. monday, we're back to the upper 50s. hovering close to normal through the next several days. overnight, watch for patches of frost, 38 will be the overnight
