wait until you hear who came to the rescue when their baby decided to make the entrance. we begin with the story that had afternoon commuters doing a double take. a bull escaped a slaughter house and continued on. authorities followed the animal as it made its way to hancock street to i95 and 7th and vine that's where alexandria hoff is right now with an eyewitness account of what happened. >> reporter: ukee washington, jessica, this entire pursuit took just about 30 minutes and did not end so well for the bull. he was shot by an official right here at the overpass. i95 and 676 felt a little less like philadelphia an bit more like rural texas this afternoon. a shocked drivers watched a 2000 pound bull charge down the median. >> really didn't even know what to think. you usually don't see bullets on

way it was intended. >> it's unfortunate. i understand but i wish i could have done something, put him in my back seat and save him. >> reporter: this taken offer on social media with people using #bull relating this to the shooting death of gorilla. no residents or officers were injured. alexandria hoff cbs3 "eyewitness news" investigators trying to figure out who's behind an exploding package in center city that seriously injured a man in his 60's. authorities say it was some sort of bomb stuffed inside a padded envelope. eyewitness reporter david spunt is at jefferson university hospital where the victim of the blast is being treated tonight. david? >> reporter: ukee, i'm told he's in stable condition and the investigation is far from over. even though police believe this was not a random attack, some of the victim's neighbors are still concerned for safety. 60-year-old jim is recovering

the posted 30 miles per hour speed limit when he lost control. a mother of a girl on the bus said moments before the crash, the bus driver asked the kids if they wanted to die. 12 children are hospitalized tonight. two women are are facing charges in connection with the robbery of a bucks county pizza shop. robin soto are charged with robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery. soto is the mother of two suspects and ramos is the pregnant girlfriend as one of them. authorities say they served at look-out before the robbery a week ago. it's a growing epidemic that's hitting up scale communities. we're talking about opioid overdose. recently met a family who went through the horror of their son and brother losing his battle to addiction. it's their turn to fight back. this is john's story.

>> john was probably the fun easiest person in our family >> only select memories bring smiles to the family now. >> you remember all the good times, when people pass on you always sort of remember the good times and you forget the bad stuff. we haven't quite, i, personal haven't quite gotten over the bad stuff >> like drugs, john ended up distancing himself from his family during a dark time. the family found themselves doing the same. in hopes john would seek more help. he died a year ago january at the age of 30. >> to be honest we didn't know much about addiction. >> reporter: much easier said than done, john was a multi-sport athlete. three operations contributed to the constant use of painkillers, prescription opioids which led to heroin. >> the addiction is so strong that it's hard to get over it. >> we can never get john back. hopeful, someone else will have a chance to stop the loss of

someone in their family. >> reporter: that's why the decker family is on a mission, a crew sayed to make a life saving drug more accessible. >> let's talk about narcan >> police in many communities have this. every policeman has it. every emt has it. when they show up and called somebody is there, they can treat them with the shot and bring them back. >> reporter: but it's not readily available in the city primarily due to a shortage of funds >> it will need another 150,000, so what we wanted to do is get the message out if they wanted to contribute >> injection of this drug after you almost overdosed, the recovery is painful and something that's almost, you know, maybe it's so close to dying and so painful that it's something that you don't mean do again. the argument is that we shouldn't be resuscitating people that goes back and use drugs. >> 41,000 people died last year
