12:19 pm
damaging severe weather down across the south. some that far could impact us later on tonight. specifically because watching the potent cold front passages take place. that's where we ends up with the set up. a lot of other impact that go along with this, obviously a lot of fog issues, actually where once again going to turn the folk us to start things off here with just an eyewitness photo that came in to us. this is actually given to us, from one of our production assistants, her buddy casey, over across the river, took this from his apartment in camden. look at the ben franklin bridge, and you can see, obviously, that is shroud in the cloud cover. even just below it, that hint of fog has settled, even on the river bed. so just so much moisture, and light winds to go along with this, so thanks for sending that into us, those images are just fascinating. as weather geek, i love looking at them. meanwhile outside to one of our many cameras shroud in the clouds, dreary conditions, very obviously the rain continues to fall here. look, traffic moving pretty well here as the afternoon
12:20 pm
here outside whitt fields elementary school. no recess outdoors today, even despite how warm it is. doing well though. remember, we need this rain. so, if you have the old two days of dreary conditions, at least it is for a benefit. almost one and a half inches have already fallen in ham berg, in trenton, just shy of 1.3. and mt. holly, almost up to inch worth of rain. remember, since january 1st, almost 7 inches shy of rainfall in terms of what's average there is will really help us out. right now actually watching technically the warmfront lift through here. but when we zoom out one time to the wide zoom on this, you see sliver of storms like that, those are nasty. and it looks as though again, once again going to see some severe weather erupt across portions of mississippi, into alabama. so this is, again, a threat zone. but looks like once the cold front crosses our area, actually we will get on the potential as well for stronger thunderstorms. not tornados. nothing like that. but very likely some gusty winds, and certainly some
12:21 pm
heavy downpours. so we sit basically in the lowest level of categorization for severe weather potential here today. it is, again, mainly into tonight for gusty winds, thunder, lightning, heavy downpours, those are the primary concerns. we walk you through future weather. you will see that. this is robust model. i think it is pretty close to what we're going to find out there, pockets of heavy rain continuing, very likely for the p.m. drive, notice, 5:00 or so, give or take an hour or two, really only going to see a scatter variety. so, south jersey, southern delaware, very likely, may ends up with maybe just some damp roads, spray from the vehicles, not heavy rain pouring down on you. then we get to 8:00, 9:00 starting to fill in little bit more. this mod sell pushing it back a little bit. maybe into the overnight, past midnight, the cold front itself will cross. regardless comes late tonight, not for the evening rush, but, you know, when it does come in, heavy rain, very likely some rumble every thunder wake us up in the middle of the night if the pounding rain isn't enough to do that already. we are going on the air at
12:22 pm
3:00, 4:00, a in the morning come tomorrow morning should be long gone, thankfully, going to ends up here with just much calmer conditions. very quickly, worth a mention, the fact that the atlantic hurricane season draws to close here today. we ended up with 15 named storms, seven of which became hurricanes, three of those hurricanes actually ended up at major status, in other words, cat three or greater. but we take a look, no tropical active any this forecast, jest dose of reality past today. right around 50 degrees or so friday, right through monday. and we might see some more rain in to next week. so hard to enjoy the warmth because of the rain, but boy is it warm out. >> very balmy. >> well, given tuesday was a success nationwide. >> and some of our radio friends are hoping that charitable spirit will continue today. it is day two of 98.1wogl, radiothon, the steaks' 15th annual fundraiser to benefit the children's hospital of philadelphia. over the years, they've raised more than seven and a half million dollars. if you would like to make a
