have good day on the roadways, jim, good to have you back, good day. >> so nice having you here. justin, is it going to stay dry? >> yes, today and really the next several days, not much happening for the end of december, pretty nights. cold. we're in the low 20's right now, but at least we don't have the wind. feels little betterment don't have windchill values down into the single digits, lower teens like we had yesterday morning, but clear skies over the region it, two, officially at the airport, breeze only 6 miles per hour, mid teens right now in the city but again yesterday we had some single digit windchills. mount pocono, 3 degrees, at this hour. twenty-two again in the city, 19 wilmington, quakertown, 12 this morning, 13 pottstown. we don't have the cloud cover like yesterday morning. little heat we had yesterday, easily, right back up to the atmosphere, cold there settling in at the surface, winds speeds 10 miles per hour, feels like 16 in reading as well as millville, 19 degrees, windchill, in

wildwood. storm scan3, nice and quiet, clear skies, few high clouds over extreme southern new jersey, other than, that go mostly clear today. >> a the love sunshine dollars warming us up yesterday, up to 40 today for philadelphia, 41 at the shore, only near freezing up in mount pocono region. warming trends though on the way, we head toward the christmas weekends, we will talk about that in a few more minutes, meisha, what's happening out there? >> craze what i 10 degrees difference will feel like. huge difference, all right, that's good. good morning, everyone, happy tuesday. soap, looking at 95 both directions north and southbound, at cottman, talking about this yesterday, where we had all of the construction, you can see, the cones in the roadways, still out there, so walking the left lanes both northbound, southbound again, it is right around cottman, you will have to give yourself extra time. yesterday had yesterday. you will again today. early, but already we how many vehicles are out on the roadways. wednesday, excuse me, wednesday, the vine, moving in the westbound and eastbound direction.

you can see the flashing lights, over night construction, westbound, eastbound, you are still closed should be opening within in the next 15 minute. by the way burlington bristol bridge opening around 425. that's now open, jen, rahel, back to you. >> thank you so much. german police now say that a deadly incident in a popular christmas market was a deliberate attack. >> this is the scene now central berlin. authorities are interrogating the man they say was behind the wheel of the truck, it plowed through this market killing at least 12 people, injuring 48. officials around the world were calling this a terror attack even before german authorities confirmed their findings, one eyewitness said initially it looked like an accident. >> i saw a truck barreling into a crowd of innocent people tonight. it looked like the truck jumped the curb and was going too fast, and it got out of control, and sort of just swerved into the market. >> police believe the truck was stolen, and the only passenger on board died

shortly after the crash, a polish national. >> white house describing the berlin as act of terrorism, sparking. >> trang do live at city hall where police are taking extra precautionary measures today. trang, good morning. >> reporter: good morning, jim, rahel, yes, people coming to the market later today and throughout the week can expect to see more police officers patrolling the market, even here, hours before this market even opens, we've seen several police cars as well as security guards patrolling around. last night here at the christmas village, lots of concern from shoppers taking in this city holiday tradition which now in its ninth year. people here are not necessarily worried about similar attack happening here. they're just saying a lot of sadness for the german people. still, philadelphia police say, they're not taking any chances. >> we have increased our patrol over there.

gunman shotted his allegiance to the profit muhammad and pledged to carry out jihad. also condemned russia's military role in syria. >> back here at home, firefighters on the scene of house fire in philadelphia's talcony section. "eyewitness news" on the 6,000 block of gill he is bee street. crews responded just after 3:30 this morning. at this point authority don't know if the home is occupied. no worlds of any injuries at this time. >> here in philadelphia, unidentified woman is in critical condition after she was shot in the head on a street in fairhill. the woman who appears to be in her 40's, was found along the 2700 block of north third street. this is before 11:30 last night. right now police have no suspect, but they say, surveillance video could help her in the search for her attacker. meanwhile, accident investigators are looking into a crash on the new jersey turnpike that killed one person, and left another seriously injured. chopper three over the scene in mt. laurel around 93:00 last night. authorities say a pick-up truck heading southbound

struck a person working on the rear after disable tractor-trailer. that person was killed. another person was rushed to the hospital. >> it is a done deal for president-elect trump. the electoral college formally cast their ballots that mid him america's 45th president. >> the vote for president of the united states was 20 votes for donald j trump and vote for vice president for the united states, 20 votes for michael r pence. >> now the state capitol in harrisburg, pennsylvania 20 toral events went to mr. trump, and mike pence, similar played out in state capitols across the country. last night the state of texas actually put the president-elect over the top, surfaced the the 270 electoral votes he needed to claim victory. >> as the voting went on, protesters gathered outside the pennsylvania state house, few managed to make their way inside. called president-elect trump unfit for i hoot he is offers

children in philadelphia were found to have harmful levels of lead in their blood. >> today hundreds every thousands every homes in philadelphia have interiors with paint that contain lead, even though we did not create the problem we need to address it. >> high levels of lead can cause irreversible brain damage, lower iq, and even life-long learning and behavioral problems. the mayor also won a legal victory for his tax on sugary drinks. a philadelphia common pleas court judge has dismissed lawsuit against the tax. the ruling clears way for the tax to start on new years day. now it is one and a half cents per ounce, mayor says, proceeds will funds pre-kindergarten, the the attorneys for the plaintiffs in the lawsuit brought by the beverage industry plan to appeal the judge's decision. well, time now 4:41ing. >> justin here with another check of the forecast, justin, you know, chilly day but maybe warm up coming? >> little warm up headed into christmas holiday. not bad. so sorry winter weather lovers, it doesn't look like white christmas at this point. weather pattern pretty quiet.

temperatures really just too warm during the day to support any snowstorms. arctic air starting to move on out. actually cold they are morning, than it was yesterday at this time. look at that, 8 degrees cold nerve philadelphia, 11 in wilmington, at least the winds are backing off little bit. so it doesn't feel as bad. still, windchills down to the teens, but it will feel pretty good later this morning, into the afternoon. temperature, 14 at this hour, 17 in trenton, 21 in millville at this hour. remember, yesterday, we had that cold arctic air, situated over the midwest, chicago down into the single digits, now temperatures starting to climb up, indicating the arctic air is moving on out. really will not return probably not until sometime in january. looks like the rest of the year stays at or even above average when you average all of the highs and lows together. storm scan3, quiet, high pressure still dominating mid-atlantic. this will look like this really for the next several days headed into the holiday weekends, not much activity as far as the weather pattern goes. jet stream flattening out t means just gets back moving weak systems coming on by, producing few clouds, temperatures start to warm up.

future weather model, a lot of sunshine today, evening is quiet. tomorrow starting off with mostly sunny skies, few clouds return, coming in wednesday afternoon, but not going to produce any precipitation, not bad rebounds, coming off the low 20's this morning, up to 40 this afternoon, still below average with the sunshine, tonight, not quite as colds, still chilly at 28 degrees, in the city. little colder in the suburbs, here is the extended forecast, staying warmer, mid 50's tomorrow, winter officially arrives. mid week, upper 40's, 48 to 50 degrees, look like the 50's continue into next week. >> wow, 48 and ooh over christmas, all right, justin, thank you so much. good morning, everyone, and very happy tuesday to you. so, looking outside right now at some construction, dealing with this construction project yesterday on 95. did it slow you down? yep it, did. probably will again today. ninety-five north and southbound at cottman, left lanes blocked there, both directions. not causing any slow downs right now. you can see still early, haven't even cracked into the 5:00 hour yet. once we push into the 5:00 and specially into the 6:00 hour,

these cones will slow you down, just factor that into your morning plans. also the vine west and westbound, we are closed for the overnight construction, hopefully that clears by the 5:00 hour. now, also, the burlington bristol bridge is opening right now, heads up on. that plus a lot of construction, pa turnpike westbound, see if i can get this, pa turnpike between downingtown, valley forge, right lane blocked in that area, also route 42 northbound between route 130 and walt whitman bridge. one to two lanes blocked there. so around 5:00 a.m. we will be take being a lot more construction coming up in the next 15 minutes, jim, over to you. >> thank you, meisha. still ahead on "eyewitness news" this morning, you work for it, it is paid for, but how many americans are missing out on vacation time? >> no, not you, jim, not you. >> and, it is toyfest drop off day. how you can be part of the tradition when "eyewitness news" continues.

>> sister station "kyw news radio" 1060, also, today, pennsylvania electoral college does its duty despite the shouts of protesters. a warning from others who may want to try to smoke marijuana during pregnancy, and democratic national convention organizers are helping thousands of philadelphia school children open up new books. you can check in two, three, four times a day on "kyw news radio" 1060 on your a.m. dial. well, a toy drive-in spired by little girl who is being treated for cancer got much bigger than anyone expected. >> a convoy every toys arrived at children's hospital of philadelphia with a police escort. four year old jillian matthews, who has brain and spine cancer, led the special delivery, after being in the hospital for chemotherapy, jill juan was released but what about the kids who can't go home for the hospital? enter the sassy massey toy drive. that's jillian's name. >> amaze to go see the turn out, how many people support in the cause, and we just can't thank everybody enough

>> looking forwards to that. >> exactly, for weeks. >> 4:48. time for check on business news. >> hena daniels joins us live this morning from the new york stock exchange, hena, good morning. google facing apparently another consumer complaint regarding privacy issues. what can you tell us about that? >> good morning, guys, complaint filed with the ftc charges google policy change that bridges google more to users as they brouse the internet. change to privacy policy allows the merger of data collected by various services like google maps, and google search. now, google's allegation that it acted effectively. jim, rahel. >> hena, people usually look for it and plan to take all of their allowed vacation time from work. i am among them. but i understand there is a very new and i would say disturbing trend that's emerging. what can you tell me about this? >> i'm with you. absolutely. more than half of american polled in a study are leaving some of their company paid vacation time on the table

♪ i had an injury to my neck. it wasn't as serious injury it was a herniated disc. anything that could go wrong went wrong. i've been in the hospital twenty three times since. the bills started to pile up. i had nothing to give. we had nothing in the refrigerator. i would be dead and not sitting here right now if it wasn't for pond lehocky.

still some leftovers clouds hanging just off shore. but a lot of clear skies situated over pennsylvania, most of the mid-atlantic, so seeing a lot of sunshine, up around 40 degrees, new degrees below average, 43 where we should be nor date. for tonight, clear, cold, 28 for the city, little colder in some suburbs, but we have warming trend happening. starting tomorrow, as winter arrives, 544 in the morning, on our way above average, 45 degrees, partly sunny skies, thursday looks like we will see some showers. yesterday, that system, kind of weakening, it will be clouds that should stay dry. forty-eight, back to sunny skies friday, 46. great holiday travel, leading up to the weekends, weekends itself on the mild side, up fourth's, 50 degrees, christmas night could use some showers, into next week, monday's highs into the lower 50's. checking the traffic with meisha. good morning. >> i'm all ears when you say great holiday traveling. because let me tell you, i was stuck in the airport, not fun last weekends, and i jump on plane tomorrow, too. good morning, i don't know about you guys, if you are traveling anywhere, but good

luck to you. i'm going to be crossing my fingers myself. fifty-nine north and southbound at cottman, left lane is blocked, now, what we were seeing yesterday, kind of the same thing here. we have the cones, littering the roadway, and what happened it ended up getting very, very slow yesterday. granted there were a lot of on and off ramps. those were closed and kind of opening, but what we were really dealing with, one lane closed on 95, that's what we are dealing with right now. you can see out there, north and southbound at cottman, not looking bad at all on 95, it will little later. so make sure give ourselves couple every extra minutes, if you are headed out in the 6:00 hour add about maybe 15, 20 minutes extra onto that. then we go to the vine, that's closed overnight, we can see the crews out there right now, eastbound side, hopefully trying to get that moved out of the way. westbound, eastbound side on the vine still closed and construction, pa turnpike westbound between downingtown and valley form, right lane blocked there. plus, route 42 northbound between 130 and walt whitman bridge. one, two lanes are blocked, that should g lifting right around 5:00 a.m. we'll see if it does so. new jersey turnpike northbound near delaware memorial plaza,

and check on the roads with meisha. good morning. >> good morning, i can't wait, my gosh, i can't wait. roads are looking good, nice and dry, heating up little bit, especially 95, we will be talking about that coming up in a little bit. justin, how is this? >> not much happening in the weather world. pretty quiet. >> nice, easy, i kind of pick me feet up back in the weather center. you know that's going to happen probably few more weeks, really crank up these, but it is cold, colder than yesterday. but at least we don't have the wind. so little bit more bearable to be outside. i tell you, taking advantage of this cold. look at the poconos, snow guns cranking here, live look at big boulder, all of the resorts, ideal snow making conditions pretty much around the clock up in the poconos, cold air in place, but actually getting warming trend. but excellent skiing, riding conditions coming at us this week, leading into up come coming holiday, temperature change compared to this time yesterday. nine in mount pocono, so that
