might have happened. >> it was about surviving but it was not about surviving for me. >> as she reflects from the warmth of her hospital bed easton resident karen kline says two people were on her mind while she hiked 26 miles through a snowy arizona forest to get help. she ate twigs and drank her own urine to survive. >> i have to help and safe them. >> kline's husband and their son stayed behind in the willederness after their car got stuck in the snow. the three were on vacation and begun driving as a miserable storm pounded the area around the grand canyon. they represent aitd car in las vegas and relied on gps to take them there. the specific area where they want todd go was closed for the winter. >> i kept thinking i have to do this for my son. i have to do this for my husband. >> karen kline is currently recovering at a southern utah hospital treated for cold and

granddaughter left mays happeneding friday and they were drive to see family in north carolina. barbara called them 5:30 saturday to tell them she stopped for gas outside richmond, virginia. no one has heard from them since. if you have information call police. temperatures are on the rise but before we enjoy the warmer weather we'll see a few showers. meteorologist lauren casey is keeping her eye on rj chas headed our way, lauren. >> thanks, jessica, temperatures are rising as we speak and getting a live look at center city philadelphia or trying to. and you cannot even see the sky line because of fog settling in with warmer and warm moist air mass contributing to a temperature inversion leading to some fog. 49 right now. winds picked up out of the southwest at around 13 miles an hour and that southerly component to wind flow is ushe ushering in warmer air and contributing to fog dense in some areas down to quarter mile visibility in the lehigh valley and half mile in trenton and five mile visibility in philadelphia. one mile visibility in the poconos and temperatures though

extremely mild for this late hour on a december night we're at 50 dover air force base and 50 bedford and 49 morris town and temperature change over the last 24 hours has been dramatic on the order of double digits up 2 degrees from this time yesterday in atlantic city and overnight, tonight, we'll continue to deal with areas of fog and potentially a shower late. we have a brief warm-up in store tomorrow and high temperatures try to up jump up to 60. it will only be brief and cold are air is moving in by new year's and we'll let you know when to expect temperatures in the 0s even expect or dread that until full forecast coming up in a few. >> all about perspective. lauren, thank you so much. and a vandal slashed tires in the early hours of christmas morning in the city's north wood section and nine vehicles were damaged on the 9 00 block of full rod street and some victims were more than one car now have to replace eight tires. the north wood civic association told eyewitness news reporter anita oh it will

help with the bills. >> we called the insurance and they want $500 deductible on each car. so it's cheap to buy them yourself. >> what we'll do for the neighbors is donate 50 per vehicle to help them replace the tires. >> surveillance video caught a sign of a suspect sometime between midnight and 2:30 on christmas morning and if you know anything about this crime you're asked to call northeast detectives. philadelphia police want your help to catch this robbery suspect. the armed man held up the texas chicken and burgers restaurant on concernsing ton avenue around 12:30 a.m. on christmas. and he did get away with cash and no one was hurt. and if you recognize that suspect, contact police. and police also need your help to catch this burglary suspect who broke into the offices of philadelphia restaurant tour and on december 9 around:40 in the morning police say this suspect forced his way into the star restaurant office building at 1:34 market street and the suspect stole a sirrusxm radio

and the video shows him exiting with a white trash back. >> we're hearing from tonight of a family after an 8 81-year-old woman gunned down christmas eve while working in the south philadelphia grocery shore she owned. marie buck was mainstay at the store 6th and woo!ton streets and youngest of 11 children served her communicate community more than four daek aids. saturday morning buck and another employee were inside and that employee says a man walked in and shot buck. today, we spoke with buck's family. >> she was unbelievably warm, loving person. and the worst people don't deserve to it die like that let alone the best. >> she was murdered, my mom was murdered. and it was very uncalled for. >> reporter: buck's husband mike returned home today after making funeral arrangements and

several days and nice for christmas holiday and today was fwloomy and temperatures not terrible. we're going to warm things up tomorrow and bring back the sunshine. tomorrow afternoon is shaping up nicely and right now we're dealing with fog and a lot of it. getting a live look on sky cam three center city philadelphia you cannot even see the sky line right now because that fog settled in obscuring our view and we're dealing with widespread fog across the delaware valley and greatly reducing visibilities in some areas so do keep that in mind if you have to hit the roads tonight. temperatures they are actually rising which we typically don't see during the overnight period.. 49 right now in philadelphia, we're at 37 allentown and 50 dover and these numbers continue to slowly rise throughout the overnight period. as more mild air mass to south and west continues to build in to our neck of the woods and it's going to hang out for tomorrow and then quickly go away. but, winds out of the south right now ushering in warmer air mass and wind speeds picking up along the i 95.

>> doris: and breezy at times winds 10 to 15 miles an hour and this week we go from comfy tomorrow due to ridge in jet stream toll cold by week's end. and see a little dip bringing temperatures closer to average as we head to wednesday. thursday and then a little dose of our favorite thing arctic air as we head into friday that will stick around into saturday our new year's eave as well. it's not going to be brutal. it's not going to feel that great either. storm scan 3 showing us cloud cover and we have a line of showers and this is a system that brought all of the trouble to parts of midwest and main energy is north and east where we see know and mixed priping and uniform rain and dealing with energy from the system and could fire off an isolated shower later tonight and early tomorrow morning and otherwise dealing with fog and temperatures gradually warming overnight tonight and waking up in low to mid 50s and top off 60 and chance of light shower and clearing skies becoming mostly sunny with 60 degrees as we head into the average.
