inches. so we have gotten off to a slow start in that regard. storm scan at the localized level as meisha mentioned totally quiet. nice and dry. we will get out the door without a hitch but you will crank that heater i think since temperatures have really taken a hit here. this morning, as of yesterday we were in the the 40's. now we are below freezing every where. at least according to observation down as far as teens up in the mountains. as the day goes on, expect sun will shine, but yes, heck of a lot colder. we're talking 36. coming up we will deal will with some snow, much more detail on timing, how much and who gets the most on the other end of that all coming up, meisha. >> yes, pay attention for those commuting tomorrow morning it will be a different story, but for now what we are looking at is looking good. nice and try. i'm hoping today will be a day of relief. good news is tomorrow when snow is falling this time tomorrow morning, the good news it is one of the lesser traveled take. that is only silver lining i can give you.

so, take warning tomorrow morning. for now enjoy open roadways. west and eastbound side is opened, 95 looking good. headlights in the southbound treks near betsy ross bridge and new jersey 42 freeway north bound at creek road approaching 295 is what you are looking at there we have an accident on the smaller road in stowe, at coalbrooke tail road. hopefully that clears out. it is a side street. also some construction north broad street at roosevelt boulevard, lanes are blocked, this is at 9:00 a.m. little bit past our morning rush 9:00ah to 3:00 p.m. this will be you the there through late january. jim, over to you. in this morning homicide detectives are witnesses of a fatal shooting in strawberry mansion. on the 2900 block of oakdale street. police say after 1:00 a.m. they found a 26 year-old hand lying face down with one shot in his head. he later died. police are also trying to access nearby surveillance cameras for more evidence. well, a man is fighting for his life after being shot in the head in the cities fair hill section.

>> police are trying to figure out if he was caught the two cross fire or the intended target. "eyewitness news" reporter trang do picks this story up at police headquarters. trang, what do we know this morning. >> reporter: at last check man remains in critical condition at temple university hospital, and because the man was shot at such a great distance police are not the sure if he was intended target or if he was hit by a stray bullet the but they to believe there could be as many as two shooters as they found two different caliber shell casing s at the scene. lets look at video of the scene last night, this shooting happened just before 9:00 p.m. on east indiana avenue knew here in fair hill, officers arrived to find a 45 year-old man with the gunshot wound to the head, and they rushed him to temple hospital, police say man and female relative were sitting on the front porch of a relative's house when shots rang out. they both duck for cover but the man was hit. now police did find, two, 16 shell casings from one large semiautomatic weapons and at hope park which is across the

street from this home. >> due to the the fact that the ballistics evidence is about 200 feet away from the trent porch where the victim was when he was shot, we don't know whether or not this victim was an intended target or just an innocent bystander struck by stray gunfire. >> reporter: right now police do the not have clear descriptions of the suspect but there are several cameras around that park and nearby homes and businesses, that they are working to access. but for now we are live from police headquarters i'm trang do for cbs-3 "eyewitness news" back to you. also new this morning, no one appears to have been injured after a fire at this home in philadelphia's frankford section. fire fighters came here to the 1,000 block of wakeling street just after midnight, and they had to climb cherry pick tours get to the second floor to assess damage which does appear to be minor from the video. fire was placed under control before 1:00 this morning. happening today, funeral

services for pennsylvania state trooper kill in the line of duty. city officials, and fellow officers paid their respect yesterday for the officer in blair county convention center funeral services for land than weaver start at 11:00 o'clock at the convention center. the 239 year-old was shot and killed friday responding to a domestic disturbance in huntingdon county. state police later shot and killed the suspect. a former commissioner for radnor township will appear in court on indecent assault charges. william spangler is accused of inappropriately touching a 100 inn three-year old woman at a nursing home in wayne. according to police witnesses report it happened not once, not twice, but three times on three separate occasions. he could face more charges after the district attorney reviews shore evidence. eight year-old sailor writers sudden death is under investigation. girl was found, unresponse any of her family's strat forward home sunday afternoon. she later died at the hospital several family members were at home at the time but police

have not yet revealed how she died. intelligence officials have headed to capitol hill to brief congress on cyber threats including russia's interference in the recent presidential election. >> as hena daniels report the hearing comes a hid news that president-elect trump is planning to overhaul a major intelligent agency. sources tell cbs the news that president-elect donald trump is considering, a restructuring of the office of the director of national intelligence. the agency created in the wake of 9/11 to strengthen intelligence gathering. the the potential revamp comes as will trump continues to cast doubt on u.s. intelligence findings, that russia hacked the democratic party's e-mails in an effort to influence the election. just yesterday trump focused his attacks the dnc writing on twitter why did they not have hacking defense, and why have they not respond to the terrible things that they did or said like giving question to the hillary clinton. >> this is not just about one

♪ four people under arrest in chicago in connection with an alleged brutal assault streamed live on facebook. the video shows the suspect kicking punching and yelling at a mentally challenge man, while holding him his stage, inside of an apartment building. several people can be seen laughing and eating during the attack, victim is not the a chicago resident, is currently recovering from the incident. pennsylvania state police investigators are checking items seized from two pawn shops to see if they were stolen. troopers raided two locations of capitol cash exchange in berks and montgomery counties yesterday. they say they were looking for products in the original packaging which they say was stolen from stores like home

depot, lowes and target. police say shop's owner is in custody. well, bensalem police caught a hit and run driver with help from eye "eyewitness news" viewer who seriously injured a bicyclist new years day. only "eyewitness news" was there when james hatcher turn himself in to police yesterday authorities say he was behind the wheel of the red chevy pickup truck n this surveillance video that hit, 56 year-old lenny golden. his family could not believe how quickly the driver had been caught. >> i... >> wrong video there i believe well, he has a long road to recovery as his leg was broken in multiple places. hatcher is facing charges of misdemeanor careless driving and failing to render aid. two teenage boys are in the hospital this morning after they were pulled from an icy lake in washington. the rescue teams needed specialized equipment, and wet suits to reach one of the the boys who fell through the ice on lake serene yesterday afternoon. another boy, made it to the shore on his own.

that is really putting that in perspective here. we're talking about snow in our area but hopefully nothing like that. >> definitely not, yes. i will say that we are overdue , at this point, for some snow, by the time we hit early weeks of january, we should have a couple of inches of snow, that are pretty much under our belt here for the season as a whole. we have not had much. we have had a couple of a tenth of an inch, .3 of an inch to be exact in philadelphia that will change. the looking ahead to tomorrow. we are not talking about anything major. it will be a coat to go 2 inches or so. we will talk about that and time things out. i love the head line on this one, i will say, major kudos to our weather row dueser steve for coming you the there , thrilling to chilling, i just like that for some reason. fifty-seven is what we hit, 57 y yesterday. yeah, pretty mild. today expected high, about 20 degrees colder then that. is across the board here. so very, very substantial difference. noticeable difference. that will stick with us, right through the forecast, pretty

much. here's the next point of concern. it is a little disturbance streaking east and speeding up , i might add, so we are taking you all the way up to or early as i should say at 8:00 o'clock tonight and may even be here already. we will get your typical late day, early evening commute in and with just clouds but if this is moving as swiftly as it appears it will be likely here think where from eight to nine or 10:00 o'clock tonight. as late as 11:00 to go far enough east and with us through rest of the overnight in scattered tags but it the looks like there will be something that takes place for an hour or two across southeastern most new jersey and portions of delaware. by this time tomorrow it the could very well be long gone and we will be left with the slick spots in its wake. but here's what we're expect ing with our exclusive eyewitness weather snow fail map, coat to go 2 inches is the spectation, generally speaking but higher end of that will likely fall through delaware, and southern east most new jersey. one to 2 inches of something that we can absolutely contend with here but you will need extra time. set the alarm ten or five minutes extra early here
