our photographer now trapped in it. >> oh, no. >> went to cover it now stuck in all of that muck. so if you can avoid. ninety-five right now you want to, more on that coming up. >> you know, at least it is moving out. but the aftermath is never fun. yes, you know, timing never ideal. but this was far less than ideal. >> the morning commute. >> exactly. waking up to this. you got to get the day started. always at a slow start as it is trying to get out the door, even when sunny and 60. but with winter weather advisory still posted for one more hour here across central and southern new jersey, we still have the flakes flying, as the anchors had mentioned out there. take a look at this point, i would say, that for the most part, what you have got on the grounds is what you will have for the rest of the day. it won't have a chance to melt away however since the temperature is cold enough to support it sticking and hanging around. we do still have some light snow really encompassing cape may county eastern edge of delaware over the bay areas, but it continues to roll out to sea. so this is performing pretty much as anticipated, upper 20s

what we will find up and down i95 below freezing in millville, atlantic city, 27 currently in allentown, very cold start, but not terribly windy. just the snow. and the slush that you will be contending with out there this morning, and certainly the slick spots. keep it in mind, major roadways may not be as terrible unless you're on i95. am i right, meisha? but you are still going to find that's anybody hood streets specially awfully slick. i have the exact same thing happen to me pulling out the driveway this morning, kind of treacherous. hit the main roads at least little better, meisha. >> it is a little better. unfortunately, for anyone headed out on 95 right now, you are going to be stopped. this is where it is not so good. because we had jackknife tractor-trailer earlier this morning, that's now been moved out of the way. crews are still out there on 95 between academy and cottman, southbound direction. cleaning up not only putting the salt on the roadway surfaces but also cleaning up fuel spill interest the tractor-trailer. because of that, seeing some pretty staying backups. all of these vehicles, and when penndot switches that

camera around, you can see how extensive they have right now, cracking into the 5:00 hour. avoid the area at all costs. frankford avenue, the boulevard, those will be your best alternates right now, but his is just the kind of a sneak peak of things to come. already, what we've been seeing since the had hour, we have another accident now in east norriton. germantown pike whitehall road. one northbound lane blocked here. another accident that just popped up and overturned vehicle, at arch street at 15th street. so, heads up. this is what we've been kind of talking about all morning long, these reoccurring accidents, because the road surfaces are so slick. it is a cold enough to sustain that ice. so we will have a lot of those cars melting some of the stuff on the roadways, then will freeze over, it can really cause some major problems out there, jim, over to you. >> thank you, meisha. the snow seems to be trailing off. >> yes, but be careful, those roadways and sidewalks may still be slick. our meteorologist, lauren casey, live in collingswood, new jersey this morning with a look at conditions there. hi, lauren? >> reporter: hey, guys, how is it going? still few flurries kind of

flying on by. but otherwise, the snow, at least the falling snow, has come to an end. probably about an inch on the sidewalk, more on the cars, as this gentleman over here, i'll put him on the spot, cleaning hits car off early on this friday morning. probably three innings, he has smile on his face as he's cleaning off, doing good job there, sir. doing a good deed for all his fellow drivers, so you don't have the snow piled up. you know, two, 3 inches on the top of your roof, then hit the car behind you. so he is doing good deed there this morning. you will get some good karma circulate err today, i'm sure. roads are in pretty good condition. seen more than several salting trucks going by haddon avenue, collingswood, over the last hour or so, but the roadways are very wet. there is a lot of standing water on the sidewalks near the curb there. that will be a problem heading into later tonight, specially tonight, as temperatures dropping down into the teens and low 20's, with re-freezing, it was our most significant snowfall of the

season so far. not significant snow but the most significant at philadelphia international airport only had about .3 of an inch of snow before this system came through. pick up about an inch at philadelphia international airport. up until about midnight. we should get new total pretty soon here. here are new amounts, king of prussia picking up about two and a half inches with this latest system, toms river about an inch, mays landing just about a half inch. again, down the shore, some of the lower totals because the grounds temperatures where even though the air temperature is below freezing, the soil temperature, because it hasn't really been so prolonged, coal, still above freezing, so but the shore will have a chance to see some snow as we head into the upcoming weekends, as katie has been telling you about the winter storm watch in effect that's been extended into parts of burlington and ocean counties, but yes there is morning, the story is clean off the car. take it easy. take it slow. got to do the sidewalk shuffle. because it is very slick out here even though there is salt, i was slipping around a little bit. but altogether not too bad on

this friday morning, in collingswood, guys, back to you. >> lauren do you have sends that guy over to cbs-3. >> and between lauren and katie getting a meteorology class today. >> i love it. keep it going. >> thanks so much. >> if you live in the northeast, probably have some snow to clear off your car there this morning, as well. >> "eyewitness news" reporter trang do live in mayfair with the latest conditions there. good morning, trang. >> good morning, jim, jan, i'm happy to report here in northeast philly the snow pretty much stopped. seeing really fine flakes for the most part there is snow event finish here in the northeast, but take a look, right off frankford avenue. as we've seen throughout the city, my photographer and i scott, been driving around, in south philly, in center city, now in the northeast, than is what the major roads look like. pretty clear, cars going by pretty well, but what we are seeing, though, on the side street, obviously, you know, they still need to be plowed, so there is like a thin layer of snow on top of those side

street. you really need to be careful about. also, as meisha mentioned, number every accidents on i-95, still one to be cleaned up, still back up, as our other photographer is stuck in that. so you just want to be careful on those elevated surfaces and on the side street. see again, frandford avenue clipping by. so we're not the only ones out here early this morning. ran into some guy, really loved the snow, and are kind of use it to make some extra cash. so take a listen to one of them. >> it is money making. i make money in it, people slip around t i like it, better than sitting at home. >> complete opposite of me. i absolutely hate snow. no, now that it is over, pretty much liking it, but for those you just waking up with us this morning, we take a look across the street, that's what you will see when you look out your window. you will see about two, 3 inches on your car, and luckily it is that very fluffy snow that you can just kind of brush off and get on your way. but, guys, i send it back to you in the studio. >> thank you, so much, trang,

senator dan coats as his director of national intelligence. he the the establishment republican has been tough critic in the past. hena daniels, cbs-3, "eyewitness news". in the meantime, president-elect trump plans to tap congress for the money to build his border wall. not mexico. throughout the campaign, mr. trump repeatedly said woe force mexico to pay for the wall. but now, sources are saying, the president-elect would rather fund the wall through the appropriations process. according to lawmakers, the trump team argues it will have the authority through a bush era 2006 law to build the wall, but it lacks the money to do so. four people are set to appear in court in chicago today, in connection to the brutal assault after mentally disable man the suspect it, the victim white, the suspects allegedly streamed the attack live on facebook earlier this week, president obama spoke to

dozens of people in the effort to find accomplices of the suspect. well, the amount of snow we're getting nothing compared to what they're seeing in part of up-state new york. >> nearly 2 feet of snow has fallen near lake erie and ontario. buffalo got 22 inches of snow thursday. people north of syracuse saw 20 inches, forecasters say lake effect storm could dump another foot or two of snow by the weekend. >> and the snow in buffalo even stranded some school buses last night in many cases the buses were delayed picking up kids from school to take them home. so the children had to stay at the school's late. traffic was at a stands still in many places, in and around the buffalo area. >> and thankfully, not getting that much snow here, but philadelphia police want to remind people, you can't save your mocking spats. the department tweeted out this picture, saying, 2 inches is nothing. don't get excited. don't start the game of cones early. shovel and share, winter is here, there is a long way to go. hashtag nosafety.

starting to get its leg, and it will cut across the southeast, make left-hand turn, and go up to the northeast. the question is, how close does it get to us? so, at this point, winter storm watch has been pre-ish eude for part of coastal new jersey, the bulk of issue is going to fall anywhere from southeastern virginia, back into alabama. however, take a little closer look at our area. sussex county, cape may, atlantic, southeast burlington, portions of ocean county, actually all of ocean on county included in the winter storm watch, goes into effect late tonight for this storm system. so for now, we see things clear out nicely no later than 6:00 this morning, but as we move forward next storm comes close, tomorrow morning just knocking on the doorstep of sussex county. >> this particular model does bring it ever so slightly on shore. just enough see modest accumulation every couple every inches down along the shore points. further inland, philly,

was closed. cottman had opened. what we are looking at right now academy has just now opened. just prior to showing you this shot, what we were seeing is everyone was making u-turn and driving the wrong way down this onramp. meisha's classroom, don't do. that will where is my spanking stick? i need it. we can absolutely not do that drivers. so right now, academy is open. looking okay right now there. how much, i will tell you, it is very, very slippery around these areas. take a look at this. accident after accident after accident in east norriton. so woodland avenue, eisenhower drive. germantown pike at whitehall road, one northbound lane blocked right now. this is just giving you a sneak peak how dangerous and slippery it is out there. overturned truck here, arch and 15th street. even more to talk about coming up in another 15 minutes. take it easy out there, jan, over to you. now for a look at the newspaper headlines from across our region.
