news". >> also another water main braining in fishtown to tell you about. this one in the 1400 block of fletcher street. workers responded shortly after 7:00 this morning, philadelphia's water department confirmed two customers did lose their water due to the main break. their services weren't restored until about 8:00 tonight. at last check, crews were still repairing that main. >> and yesterday's snow is still causing some trouble in part of the area. there are several school delays for tomorrow, and you can see them scrolling on the bottom of your screen. the snow is ushering in an arctic blast of air for us, "eyewitness news" at cooper river park in camden county, not a fun night at all to be outside. everyone is bundled up, as you can see there, along the ring. lauren casey here to show us how bitter cold it is going to get. >> lauren? >> natasha, yes, this morning we had our coldest low temperature of the season so far in philadelphia. we dropped down to 15 degrees. fourteen in the lehigh valley. we woke up to five in mount pocono. and after that cold start, we

had our coldest high temperature of the season so far, in philadelphia, as well. we only got to 24 degrees. today, of course, we had the blustery winds on top of that, really impacting that feels-like temperature. the positive piece of the forecast is the blustery winds are starting to wayne. but we still have breeze up around 10 miles per hour out of the northwest. at reporting site since 19 in philadelphia, feeling like nine, 16 down the shore, feeling like four, and seven in the poconos, feeling like seven below at this hour. and tomorrow, the cold continues, but it will be the last day of this latest bitter blast, more lows falling back to the teens once again, high temperatures tomorrow will struggle to near 30 degrees. windchills will likely be down near zero in the city and sun zero to the north and west, early tomorrow morning. bundle up, and all of those lawyers, all of the lawyers you have tomorrow morning, we won't get the thawing until midday on tuesday. but once we do, we're going to see dramatic warm up into wednesday, and by thursday, we could be dealing with near

record winter warmth. and i will a let you know when to look forward to that in your full forecast coming up in just a few. >> lauren, thank you, see you soon. folks all along the east coast including delaware, and new jersey, continuing to dig out following yesterday's big snowstorm. the first major winter storm of the season, dumped as much as a foot and a half of snow in southern new england, and caused more than a thousand accidents. icy roads are also to blame for at least four deaths. many schools in north carolina will be closed tomorrow. because of at least a foot of snow there. and heavy rain this weekend has caused flood watters in santa cruz california to continue to rise. trees uprooted from the storm are being swept now into the san lorenzo river. are flowing downstream. residents are afraid the debris in the water may do major damage to their homes. >> we could have log jams that happen, i was homing maybe get to see full size redwood tree come down, that's what is really horrifying, when they start barreling down toward my

deck i get concerned. >> forecasters predicting even bigger storm could be headed toward the area, and could pack the same force as one that hit in 2005, which caused $300 million in damage. >> dozens are forced to evacuate a train in florence township new jersey due to fire on board. "eyewitness news", at the florence light rail station, where officials say flames broke out on a river line train about 6:30 this evening, passengers were on board at the time of the few but made it out safely. >> officials investigating the cause after fire in the city port richmond section, "eyewitness "eyewitness news" in the 2200 block of east butler street where a fire broke out shortly before 4:00 this afternoon. we're told there were people inside the building at the time. but everyone did make it out safely. >> and the red cross is now assisting dozens of residents, displaced by an apartment fire last night in gloucester township, new jersey. flames errupted around 10:00,

at the lakeview apartments, on the 500 block of lower lands being road, took firefighters about three hours to get the blaze under control. told 50 residents were displaced and luckily no one was injured. a woman and her boyfriend are both behind bars tonight. the two are facing charges related to the brutal murder of the woman's 14 year old adopted daughter. cherri gregg from sister station "kyw news radio" has more on the horrific details of this case. >> the hours and the days leading to up her murder were probably the most horrible and traumatic that any person should ever have had to experience. >> the gruesome details of what ended the life of 14 year old grace packer, are startling. >> the co-conspirators bought poison. they both a bow saw to dispose of her body once she was poise orthopedics. >> prosecutors say 44 year old jacob patrick sullivan of bucks county and girlfriends, 41 year old sarah packer,

conspired to kidnap, rape, czar's adopted daughter grace as part of twisted sexual fantasy and suicide pact. they excused part one july 8th, when they drove young grace in her pajamas to a bucks county home. >> she was punched, and then she was tied up, hogtied, sedgley molested, she was raped. the defendant also prior to this committed an involuntary deaf and the sexual intercourse on her. >> the duo later poisoned grace, strangled her with the poison failed. the teen's dismembered body was found in a luzerne county park on halloween. >> unfortunately grace packer was a disposable child to these people. >> investigators say, sullivan and packer began planning the murder in 2015. packer reported grace missing a day after her death which soon raised questions after a three county investigation that break came on

december 30th. miss sullivan attempted suicide, days later confessed. >> the question becomes who will remember grace packer? who will now speak for grace packer? we will. >> authorities say they will use all of their resources to bring the alleged killers to justice. the d.a.'s office says they are considering the death penalty in the case. in the news center, cherri gregg, "kyw news radio", for cbs-3, "eyewitness news". >> well, sarah packer does have attentive preliminary hearing scheduled for january 20th in quakertown. >> also, tonight, former university of pennsylvania professor raphael robb is out of prison after serving ten years for the 2006 death of his wife ellen robb inside their upper merion home. raphael robb pled guilty to voluntary manslaughter back in 08. he was released just after 6:00 this morning from prison in northwestern pennsylvania. >> and former pennsylvania congressman, shank a fattah requesting more free time so can he continue to fight his legal battle.

fattah, who is expected to start a ten year prison term this month, has petitioned us appeals court to allow him to remain free while he appeals his racketeering conviction. fattah expects to win a new trial based on perceived errors, he says, during his original trial. federal prosecutors oppose fattah's motion to remain free. a hands full of lawmakers calling now for a review of safety measures in the wake of recent train crashes. new jersey senators cory booker and bob menendez are among five senators asking the national transportation board to conduct a comprehensive review on sleep apnea testing for railroad engineers. the group is hoping to prevent future accidents, like the train derailment in hoboken, new jersey, and in brooklyn, new york. >> coast guard video here shows the rescue of two men from a small fishing boat. this happened late last night in the delaware bay near salem, new jersey. the boat became disable, the

paying 6% more for tolls with ez pass and cash. the turnpike commission says the money will help to fund projects to rebuild and widen the turnpike and support pennsylvania public transportation needs. now, in california, a space x rocket launch has been pushed back because of bad weather. the blast-off has been delayed until january 14th because of high winds and rain at the air force base. the launch will be the copy first since one of its rockets exploded in september. the new rocket will put ten communication satellites into orbit. the iphone is about to celebrate 10th birthday, tomorrow will mark exactly ten years since the late apple ceo steve jobs introduced the device to the world. the iphone quickly took off and started the smart phone age. apple rode the wave to become one of the top technology companies on the planet. the company is said to deliver a

new device in the fall. remember the flip phones, it's been awhile new jersey chris christie meantime is preparing to deliver his seventh state address. this year's speech comes as he enters his final year in office and on the heels of christie's failed presidential run and the bridgegate trial. the governor will deliver that address on tuesday. thousands of folks also lined up outside of mccormick place in chicago in the bitter cold in hopes of getting hands on free ticket to president obama farewell speech. most of the people arrived before the sun came up to try to get the tickets. it took less than three hours before all of the tickets were gone. and it was a close race at the weekend box office but one film forced its way back to the top again. rogue one, a star wars story

"eyewitness news" at the lifetime athletic facility in mt. laurel today. that's where 36-year-old kelly duker participated in her very first indoor triathlon. here's why this is such a huge accomplishment for her. for most of her life, she has suffered from muscular dystrophy, a disorder that causes severe muscle weakness >> been different for me because i'm physically disabled. it was a slower process. i don't build the muscle mass, mostly trying to build up the

live look at a cold center city philadelphia. feeling like nine degrees at this hour and temperatures are bitterly cold across the delaware valley. 16 in the lehigh valley. seven in mount pocono. 15 in berks county. down the shore, temperatures to fallen into the teens, we had the cold high temperatures, some of the coldest and on top of that, we had the blustery conditions winds gusting at 30 miles per hour range and gusting to near 40 in wilmington. the good news, the one positive piece of the forecast, the within speeds starting to wayne. that will continue throughout the overnight period. wind speeds down less than ten miles per hour all of our reporting sites. even the little bit of a breeze having a big impact on the windchill temperature because of the arctic air in place. feels like five right now in wilmington, five in the lehigh valley. three in reading. and feels like seven below at this hour in mount pocono. some of our future feels like temperatures if you're an early riser, it is going to feel cold in allentown, near zero, windchill factor, same case in

trenton feeling like 11 in philadelphia as we head to the 7:00 hour heading out to work, four degrees will be your windchill temperature in philly. five below in mount pocono. still to near zero in the lehigh valley. might want to pack the lunch tomorrow, if you have to head out. still not going to feel great, 12 degrees in the city, as we head to the second half, heading out to the car after your day going to be blasting the heat once again with cold windchill temperatures, dropping down, coldest night, 14 degrees, less winds, i guess that's good part. miss mix of sun and clouds. still don't break the freezing mark, less wind speeds. cold air mass tomorrow, some relief tuesday, big time air relief wednesday and thursday. this ridge in the jet stream is going to allow for potentially near record winter warmth as we head to thursday and still very mild as we close out the work week as well. stormscan 3 showing us quiet

conditions, we did have snow showers north and west of the city, no accumulation from that, now clear sky conditions across the entirety of the area, start off with sunshine tomorrow morning, clouds moving in kind of that mix of sun and clouds throughout the day as we head to tuesday, cloudy conditions but no precipitation to impact your tuesday morning commute but as we head to the second half of the day, moisture will be building in, freezing drizzle, light sleet, snow showers light in intensity north and west of the city, late day tuesday and maybe a brief period of freezing drizzle and light sleet in our northwest suburb, i don't know if it will make it to the i95 corridor late day on tuesday, we're going to have that mild air mass that will change all of the frozen presip to rainfall by tuesday night but we're dry tomorrow, mostly cloudy conditions poconos with a high temperature of 20, we'll be in the upper 20's at the shore. on wednesday, we do have rain in the forecast especially for the first half of the day, check out that high temperature, that the going to feel much better.
