>> from the revolution area war to philadelphia's new museum of the american revolution. >> story belongs to general hue mercer, severely wounds in the battle and died nine days later on it date 240 years ago. if you want an up close look, you can check it out when the american museum revolution officially opens to the public this april. you know me, i'm history buff. i'll be there. >> i was about to say, so excited about that museum opening up. >> and i'm excited about today's weather. >> how could you not be? >> play the bagpipes whenever. >> so comfortable outside. it is unbelievable. so if you have yet to step outside, i really suggest if you're a fan of spring like conditions, it is basically a taste of april, and it does not last very long. so, enjoy today. >> opportunity is limited. exactly. it is like one of those hot door busters of "black friday", right? yes, let's get you out there. really looking ahead here to
12:17 pm
still very significant swing. we are eventually going to rebound again into next week, perhaps, though, not to the levels like we're expecting for the rest of today. so, let's talk temperatures, we will get you outside, talk a little about where we came from, where we are going. remember the high on monday, it was not all that long ago, and we only hit 23 degrees. we are already, my friends, 40 degrees warmer today, and we're obviously not done just yet. so expecting at least one more degree on the thermometer here with more than 40 degrees, swing on the thermometer reading other course of just three days, and it is pretty drastic, not like we've never seen it before, but for me, again, the fact that we're at 63 right now, not as impressive as the fact that we will continue this very noticeable change in the thermometer, over the course of the next seven days. we drop off again, rebound back up again. and that is a theme for us. so again, 63 currently up and down i-95 actually. >> here at 67 currently in
12:18 pm
columbus, versus 32 in st. louis, as that much colder air slices through the midwest right now, and talk about cold in the wake of this. in milwaukee currently in the two's, only at nine in minneapolis. i don't think we are talking single digit let alone sub zero values, but we'll see the temperatures drop off in the wake of what is pretty potent cold front. bulk of the moisture though, see it rolling it way across the great lakes region. while we may still find residual shower out there as we had mentioned, i don't think that you will see anything major out of. >> this looks like the bulk of the moisture stays to the north. then we've got this guy, looming right now, out across the golden state of california starting to move on shore. this is what will eventually cut across the us, make its arrival here, by the time we hit the weekends. with the cold air in place, the timing is just perfect. that will end up seeing little bit of light snow, and possibly a wintery mix as well. looks like the best chance for snow would go north of the city or north, i would say, really just north of the northern two thirds really of our region.
12:19 pm
you go into delaware and south most new jersey, that's the best chance to see maybe a bit of wintery mix take place. could be very fine glaze that develops through delaware, through southern new jersey, and it looks like this will start midday right now on saturday. so we'll continue to fine tune this as we get ever closerment back to the here and now, winds are kicking up. you missed it, thankfully didn't happen live on tv. out on the skydeck my hair went flying, it was crazy and i had to smoothly before we came back to air. so, so mild. as we hit 64 degrees this afternoon, possibly higher than that, depending on your location, it is just well above average clearly. we drop down to 45 tonight. under more clouds than anything. but take a look. we get new saturday as the home show is getting underway for the first full weekends, proud sponsors of cbs-3, light snow to go along with it, perhaps glaze through southern new jersey, then we rebounds and come next mid week, we're right back up to the 50's. rahel, over to you.
12:20 pm

along. >> and snow. >> exactly. >> frolicking in the snow. >> no snow today? >> no snow today. way too worm for that. temperatures once more, so comfortable, despite the breeze, notice it, trust me, but 63 degrees, on a january day, that's normally wouldn't top off any better than the low 40's, doing pretty well here. let's talk about the future snow very quickly though. again, talking saturday, i would say, starting midday, this should not amount to much. it could be a little slick, through central, well, through most of delaware really. and southern new jersey, mainly just very light nuisance snow across the rest of the region to the north, so that's the expectation, again, that will happen saturday, another quick look at the seven day, all over the place, 30's, 40's, 50's, 60s. >> got it all for you. >> yes. >> oh, well. it's moving along. >> that's "eyewitness news" at noon today. i'm jim donovan. >> i'm rahel solomon for katie and all of us here, thanks for watching. >> "eyewitness news" continues at a . on line
