troopers pack up for a special mission to washington d.c. they will be helping provide security at president-elect trump's inauguration. >> we have no specific assignment yet we will be given that upon our arrival in d.c. >> reporter: at least 25 groups have applied to the national park service for permits as security forces expect a record number of protest groups. experts predict more than a million people will be in the nation's capitol and more than a third will be protesters. security forces will be about 30,000 strong, with more than 3,000 officers coming from police departments throughout the country. that includes ocean city, somers point, atlantic city, middletown ship and wildwood and new jersey state police. the they will call upon recent crowd control operations like the dnc and papal visit. >> they have training, professionalism that they em low every day on the job, our troopers are well train and they do a fantastic job of doing what they do professionally, dealing with crowds of people.
