28 degrees in the lehigh valley. 29 degrees in milville and 32 degrees right now in lancaster. temperature change over the last 24 hours, yes, down about 12 degrees from this time yesterday in philly. and in the double digit across many of the reporting site. storm scan3, showing us, that thicker cloud deck moving in from the southwest it, will overtake the area over the next couple of hours. and then we will contends with this area of precipitation, that will be building in as we head into the afternoon. what to expect for today, cloudy start, rain likely arriving in many areas, by midday. the steadiest rain will come later this afternoon, and could cause a slow p.m. commute. the rain will be tapering offer by the commute. we will deal with slick roadways, then much more rain in the forecast, with powerful storm system that will be moving in, as we head into late day sunday, sunday night, monday, and lingering into early tuesday. periods of heavy rainfall falling across the delaware valley with potentially to up one, 2 inches of rainfall by the ends of this event. we will see some of the biggest impact along the

a massive security force is in place to protect nearly a million people expected to be in attendance. 31,000 law enforcement officers along with 5,000 national guards men will be on the grounds in the air and patrolling rivers. officials are expecting protests but they say there is no specific or credible threat begins the inauguration. >> while some people are traveling to the nation's capitol. protest remembers scheduled to take over center city streets. >> trang do live at 30th street station, this morning, with more on what is in store for today's inauguration day. trang, good morning. >> reporter: well, good morning, jan, jim. many trains are sold out throughout the day. there are some limited availability, meanwhile, some people are taking buses to the nation's capitol this morning, as we speak. but, take a look. we caught up with some of the people as they boarded buses around 2:00 a.m., in center city. now there is group plans to protest president-elect donald trump's inauguration, then return to the area by

9:00 p.m. tonight. just one of several groups who left philadelphia early this morning, to make sure their opinions on new president are heard. >> we have the power. you know, the government doesn't have the power. and that we can hold the government accountable for what they do, especially, in light of the inauguration, the appointments, the cabinet appointments, and just the general feeling that the country will be run by a group of billionaires. >> and local demonstrations are set to kick off around noon, and continue throughout the day. philadelphia police are suggesting you try avoid center city and take public transit, if possible. but for now, live from 30th street station, i'm trang do, cbs-3, "eyewitness news", jim, jan, back to you. >> thanks so much, trangment well, as the inauguration takes place in our nation's capitol, the national constitution center right here in philadelphia is giving visitors a chance to revisit some previous presidential history throughout the year. >> "eyewitness news" reporter

pat gallen live at constitution center this morning with more on the events planned today. hi, pat. >> reporter: good morning, guys. is there a better place to be than old city philadelphia, independence mall, for basically it all started here in our country. today huge day the 45th president of the united states will be inaugurated, donald trump, in washington, d.c., but if you're here in philadelphia, and would you like to learn a little bit more about the history of the presidency, well, there is no better place to be, and no better person to talk to than jena. hi, good morning. >> good morning. >> so, talk about some of the things you guys are doing here today for the inauguration? >> sure. celebrating the history of inaugurations here. so we have history of inauguration, where you can learn about washington's inauguration, jefferson, the president's, also a show that talks about article two of the constitution which lays out the executive branch so you can learn what they say about the president's job. some fun art and crafts for kids to make, so it will be a lot of fun.

>> can you go a little deeper? i don't know anything about article two. what is this. >> article two of the constitution lays out the executive branch, what the job is of the president, the command nerve chief, that he runs -- his job to enforce the laws, so has all of the cabinet secretary and things like that carry out the laws of article one, legislative branch passed. >> i was standing over at the podium. and there was something inscribed on the back of. that will george washington, obviously, very important american, had to do it. so what was it? >> yes. so the presidential oath of office is written actually in the constitution. but there is one part that traditionally every president says that wasn't originally written there. and that's the under god. >> interesting. interesting. i hope i'm not a bad american, but you just taught me that january 20th is always the day. because i asked is it always on a friday, but no, it is always january 20th. >> it is always january 20th, the dathan time of the inauguration is written into the constitution. it was originally in march,

walked in the studio to do my weather thing and m. night shyamalon was standing there, oh, no big deal, ukee just is in the movie, no big thing. >> adding to his long list, right? >> good weekend for movies? there will be several days where you will be taking in many movies, because we have a lot of rain in the forecast starting with today, and then if you don't like today, you are really not going to like monday. but storm scan3 showing us, we're dry right now across the delaware valley. see the area of precipitation off to the south and west, moving off to the north and east, and that will be moving in, as we head into the second half of the day today. we do already have the moisture in place. we are seeing frost across portions of the area with our chillier start to this morning. and our cbs-3 weather watchers are reporting some frosty conditions, especially, across portions of south jersey. so we check in with some of the current conditions right now. temperatures, definitely, cooler than where we were at about 24 hours ago. we're generally in the upper 20's, and low 30's, according to our cbs-3 weather watchers.

so we check in right now, where it is 31 degrees. with our weather watcher phil, he caught a beautiful picture this morning, he has mostly clear sky conditions for right now. we will be clouding up pretty quickly over the next couple of hours. most areas. but phil table capture this great image of the moon this morning. at about 5:30, it is in its waning phase, we're getting little smaller after it was full. also, quarter moon, so you can see just about half of it. it is called quarter moon. we check in with another picture right now, another weather watch err, we head out into jersey, 28 degrees in chesterfield, at ed's house, also reporting mostly clear sky conditions. and he caught a cool photo. actually chilly photo of some frost this morning, on his car. and he etched in cbs. we appreciate that designation. you might need the ice scrape they are morning, definitely neat the extra layers. dealing with chillier conditions. we will be contending with the rainfall that's continuing to move toward the delaware valley, arriving in our area,

as likely we head into midday. continuing throughout the afternoon. rain developing, increasing clouds, cool and damp at 46 degrees. tonight, only dropping back to 41 degrees, maybe lingering shower. otherwise, areas of fog that could greatly reduce visibilities in many areas, and then dealing with secondary system that arrives late day sunday, sunday night, monday, into monday night, as well. much stronger storm system. it will track up along the coast, we do have potential for periods of heavy rain, during this time frame, accumulating up to two plus inches every rainfall through this event in some areas a the delaware valley. gusty winds potentially to up about 50 miles per hour particularly along the coast. and we could see the potential for some minor coastal flooding as well along the shore line specially on monday, when those winds are going to be the strongest. so, we are watching out for that storm system. nice start to the weekends as we head into tomorrow, high temperature at 55 degrees. dry conditions, clouds around on saturday. then that rain arrives as we

head into the second half of the day on sunday, meisha, then the winds are going to be whipping sunday night. and into monday. so, bad hair days all around kicking off next week. >> gentlemen, sounds like it, it sounds like a lot of crumby weather going on. okay, lauren, thank you so much. good morning, the good news is friday, tgif. right now the roadways nice and dry. blue route, headlights moving in the southbound direction at media swarthmore. see both moving in the southbound and northbound side watch you are working with, starting to build levels, just ever so slightly now. might want to just take into account if you are leaving later on in the 6:00 hour. certainly starting to pick up levels little bit. ben franklin bridge, kind of the same story here a lot of people like to get early jump top their friday. then by the rush hour not nearly what we typically see monday through thursday. that's kind whatever we're seeing on the ben franklin bridge. starting to head out there. pulling your a ten son to this again, we will be having some protests today starting at noon. center city, city hall, independence mall, then 1:00 p.m. rally, student going directly down broad street.

heads up on that for those of that you work or maybe will be on broad. also women's march in philadelphia. this will affect you saturday. they're going to be getting together, gathering at 7:00. they will be starting to march at 10:00 a.m. go through 3:00 on the ben franklin parkway. so road closures, through 4:00 p.m. also going to have some bus detours. take a look at those. going out there through 6:00 p.m. also you're also having parking restrictions between five a.m. and 2:00 p.m. so this is absolutely going to affect some things, some of us move around on saturday. again, this is saturday, the other one, was today. then route 102 trolley you are back to normal. make sure to check the schedules on line. and also, we do have some lingering construction out there still. it should be clearing in the next ten, 15 minutes. this one in bellmawr. soap, 47 delsea drive. left lane blocked. it will be blocked until right around 6:00 a.m. for those every you in and around this area, heads up on that. not that it is slowing you down right now, but certainly could. as we push maybe deep near the 6:00 hour, i would even say probably wouldn't have to worry about it until more like
