let you know when things i am roof in eyewitness weather. >> see you soon, thank you. police are investigating a fatal shooting in delaware county. the officers were called to east sixth and magnolia street in chester just before 5:00 this morning. it appears it happened in the alley way. when police arrived they found victim lying on the ground with the gunshot wound to the head. there are currently no suspects in custody. also overnight philadelphia police are investigating a break in at this jewelry store in the 5500 block of whether it der avenue in lawncrest. they were called to the scene just before 2:00 o'clock. owner is on vacation so they cannot exactly verify what was taken but as we can see in this video, some jewelry spilled on the sidewalk outside of the store, and also no suspects in custody in this case. overnight crash sends two drivers to the hospital after a women crashes into a philadelphia police suv. two vehicles collided at 57th and girard avenue just after midnight. officer is in presbyterian hospital in stable condition. woman was treated and released and being investigated at

police headquarters. police say this is a case of dui. police say they know who is responsible for stabbing death of the zero seven year-old woman in southwest philadelphia cherri gregg from our sister station kyw news radio live at police headquarters with more details what do we know here, good morning. >> reporter: good morning, rahel. we know that 70 year-old woman was found stabbed, multiple times and police believe that a relative is responsible, and they are now on the the hunt for the woman's 29 year-old grandson, and lets take a look at the video that we have from the scene, from saturday night , that is the 7900 block of caesars place a quiet block in the eastwick section of southwest philadelphia. that is where many of the residents lived there, they stay there for years but it is on this block that police found the victim inside of her home just have after 6:00 p.m. saturday. she was pronounced at the scene. no weapons have yet been located. police have not yet identified the victim by name but neighbor victor jackson affectionately refers to her

of selling stolen jewelry. plus say wasimwisod was stealing jewels, cash, excessive purses all amounting to 1.5 million-dollar. investigators say shesad and four others are charged with burglary, theft, robbery and conspiracy and receiving stolen property. shesod is expected in court february 2nd. this morning police say a fatal fire that killed two brothers in chester was probably electrical. identified victim as steven and sherman demby. fire started in the kitchen near a freezer. victim's mother first saw the fire but apparently could not get upstairs because the flames were so intense. that is when she ran outside and called 911. fire broke out in the 1,000 block of morene avenue friday morning. 50,000 people came out to philadelphia, that is more than doubled then what organizers expect, i should say. even children hit the streets on ben franklin parkway

yesterday. people marched from logan square to eakins oval and once at oval they rallied for three hours. singers, dancers and speakers took the stage. "eyewitness news" spoke with a few of them. >> we should remain hopeful. a lot of people are sad, afraid and i don't think we should be. >> message today should be we have to show what it really means to make america great again. the message today is that if we keep showing division, we will not heel. >> and philadelphia mayor jim kenney was also at the march and tweeted this shot with the caption women's right are human rights and human rights are women's rights. well, estimates the of the number of marchers who took part in women's march's cross the country at more than 1 million, biggest demonstration took place in the nation's capitol. half million people are estimated to have marched there, many brought signs with slogans supporting women's issues. justin u do was also there, and he spoke to women from our area and says they are taking a stand against donald trump

women across the country. it ises hated more than 15,000 pennsylvanians attended the rally and march. >> we are marching for their future and fact that they matter, and that they have futures, that should be, just as great as anyone elses. >> reporter: justin udo for kyw news radio for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". crews will to have repair damage in rittenhouse square park after a car crash that happened the at 18th and walnut around 10:00 last night car slammed through one of the walls in the park, no one was hurt though, cause of the crash is under investigation. and another mess for crews to clean up, this time in mayfair, eyewitnesses say a trash truck spilled pain, near 3400 block of angle wood street. it happened yesterday morning. the what is not clear whether the truck belongs to the city or a contractor. we do know that crews will be out cleaning up the paint today. the turnpike connection over the delaware river will remain closed for two weeks while engineers design a plan to fix a bridge fracture. officials say crack was discovered friday, construction work is underway to stabilize the bridge.

half of the day tomorrow, coastal storm develops but all quite it this morning at the shore. the little bit of light rain margate in good shape as far as visibility goes because rain is helping to improve visibility. we're seeing ocean calm right now this time tomorrow morning ocean will be roughed up with strong wind off the ocean. we have potential for coastal flooding and beach erosion with this storm system as wind could gust up to 60 miles an hour long coastal areas of new jersey, and in delaware. we're up to 6 miles for visibility in philadelphia, so we're improving. fluctuates hour to hour depending where you are, look at allentown, trenton, wilmington down to .1 of a mile. local areas of dense fog, early this morning as dense fog advisory continues until 10:00 o'clock for majority of the region. little batch of rain moving through south jersey right thousand but there is a lot of moisture the two south and west that will organize, main feature is out near arkansas and cut across the south east and move to the mid-atlantic, it will be a slow moving system but energizees once it hits east coast and throws in the gulf of mexico moisture

and atlantic ocean moisture. a lot of rain coming at us, developing overnight tonight and through the day on monday. 46 degrees at the air port. mid 40's in south jersey, shore, similar numbers right now, east/north east breeze that will pick up later on tonight. there is not much change in the temperature today because of the clouds and fog around. lets talk about what is happening. one weak area of low pressure off shore bringing the rain right now, and this morning, in the ocean city, atlantic city down to cape may. we have a main storm developing over the south, that traps through the mid-atlantic. we have heavy rain developing overnight and by monday afternoon, wind driven rain across the region with some strong wind especially along the coast and interior, we may be dealing with steady snow for mountains of central western pennsylvania, up into new england. the eventually this storm will move out late monday night, tuesday morning, tuesday morning, could still be a few rain showers around and we will dry things out. the here's the storm threats, mainly overnight tonight, through the day monday, especially at the coast. high threat for heavy rain,

strong wind, coastal flooding and beach erosion and maryland rate threat for power outages around the region. we will have strong wind. wind advisory in effect for monday, for philadelphia and surrounding suburbs into delaware and new jersey and then high wind warnings for coastal new jersey where we could have wind gusting to 60 miles an hour. also heads up coastal flood advisory will go in effect at 2:00 a.m. monday morning for all of coastal new jersey and delaware there is a high threat for minor tidal flooding. look at these wind speeds, not much happening today but midnight tonight we will gust to 25 to 35 miles an hour, and then strongest wind move through monday morning into early afternoon, gusting to near 50 miles an hour and inland as far west as berks county could be gusting over 40 miles an hour during the day on monday. rainfall amounts from one, maybe even 2 inches of rain especially across eastern new jersey and delaware. looking for colder weather, wait a few days, still mild, little will pocket of cool air moved in with this storm for tuesday but wednesday is warming backup in the the 50's but end of the week signs of

"eyewitness news" health reporter stephanie stahl has a story of their ground breaking steps in the race for a cure. >> reporter: when vice-president joe biden announced his initiative to beat cancer, it was clear, sharing research would be key. >> vice-president biden said with his moon shot 2020, it is time for us to knock down the walls of education and research and treatment if we're going to find a cure. >> reporter: komen philadelphia is put ago this into action forming a coalition of a dozen area hospital and organizations to more fully serve needs of cancer patients especially those with metastatic breast cancer.

a short man, wearing a blue hoodie with dark sleeves and blue jeans was seen leaving the area last night just after 6:00 p.m. authorities have not identified the motive in this case and they have not yet released the name of the victim but neighbors say they knew her well. they referred to her as miss jerry, a long time hard working resident raised her children on this block and always had a good word for folks like victor johnson -- jackson who lived nearby. >> things happened through current events, she was always a good conversationlist, and we always looked forward to -- always looked forward to speaking with her. >> i cannot believe that i just hope that they catch the person who was responsible for this. >> now, again, police have not yet made any arrests in this case but they are on the look out for the 29 year-old grandson of the victim. if you have any information, contact the police.

live at police headquarters, cherri gregg for kyw news radio for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". >> cherri, thank you. women's march on philadelphia is expected to be two times over, 50,000 people marched along ben franklin parkway yesterday, starting at ten in the morning. many could see this as provocative signs, other just carried their children. demonstrators began at logan square and ended at eakins oval. co organizer of the march explained what inspired her to take action. >> it took eight years but change can only happen when ordinary people get involved, and the rhetoric and the actions used during the east lex by president trump, cannot be accepted to be normal behavior. >> reporter: cooper morse started the organization philly women rally with toy help coordinate the march. at this same time but on the other side of our state people took part in the the women's march in pittsburgh

chestnut hill avenue. investigators say woman who was attacked was able to grab the man's gun and try to fire it, but the gun did not shoot and that is when woman called her husband and woman's husband called 911. the man ran off with their car , keys, wallet, and cell phone. police are looking for the man who attacked a transgendered woman in center city, the attack happened near city hall friday afternoon around 5:00. she was walking with two others when the man walked up and started arguing, that is when police say man hit the victim shouting homophobic and trans phobic slurs and then the man ran off. police released a photo of the man wanted in the robbery of a td bank. look at the this picture. it is very clear. this suspect walked in the td bank on old york road on friday and gave a fake teller a note that stated it was a armed robbery and then handed teller a blue and white draw string bag demanding teller put money inside. teller complied. suspect fled on foot. police are asking for public's

the house holds have pets, pets are involved in the fires as well. so a couple things that i think people need to take really close attention to, and first of all when we bring video up of jack, jack was able to save his owner's life. >> wow. >> jackies a hero. >> yes. that was the fire in the house on wednesday, he was able to bark and lick the owner's face , the lomax family in the the grays ferry section, got four adults and five children out of that house, saved their lives, he was rescued by the red paw emergency relief, what an organization, philadelphia 's so lucky to have them. they have taken jack on temporarily as his family is difficulties laced. he needs a place to go while family needs a place to go as well. red paw emergency relief works with the red cross, they have helped jack, jack's the hero dog. he was in the house first of all so he could help his family, he alerted his tamly and he helped them. probably instrumental in that
