heavier rain, and you'll see periods of that rain coming through really any time. the one really critical weather element that is not a problem for us today, though, is the cold. you don't have it. you won't have any snow this time. at least not in philly. but you will have the rain. you will have the wind. you go close enough to the shore line, high wind warning for gust that is could actually peak as high as 06 miles per hour, everywhere else, not much betterment talking 45 to 50-mile per hour gusts, than is really any time today. so the fact that you will be dealing with the wind at any time means that that will up the potential for us to see couple of power outages, will be on the watch for that throughout the day and morning certainly. forty-four the temperature at the airport, just too warm right now for anything but rain, as it is lifting in. but it is strong wind, and it is heavy rain that lift in, with that, throughout the course of the day. up in the poconos, wintery mix. we will talk more about that just a little later on, meisha? >> yikes. katie that's really going affect the morning coming youth. good morning, everyone, this will also affect your morning

commute for a lot of you. take a look at the camera shot. what are you looking at? i'll back up so you can see. >> this the delaware river turnpike bridge will remain closed until further notice, you guys. the bridge connects pennsylvania's bristol township with new jersey burlington township and the connector will be shutdown indefinately until a plan is put in place to fix the issue. the bridge carries around 42,000 vehicles a day. and the bridge was closed friday due to significant fracture found in one every it beams on the pa westbound side. so what does that mean for just terms of alternatives? these are going to be your four bridges that will be okay to use. however, i will say, when we were talking about that many people, 42,000, these are actually going to fill up fairly quickly. so for our burlington bristol, trenton morse ill ville, scud ers falls, talcony palmyra bridge. for those every in you and around that area, pennsylvania turnpike detoured at bensalem. new jersey turnpike west salem, turnpike connector, local roads under the bridge

are also closed. we will be talking about this all morning long, and just a heads up, i will be tweeting this information out, as well. jim, back over to you. >> big traffic mess, thank you, meisha. new this morning, authorities are waking to identify the man who held up the vintage wine bar at 129 south 13th street in sent earth city. now police tell us just before 1:30 this morning a man armed with a gun walked into the bar with his face covered and wearing gloves. he got away with about $200 in cash. police are reviewing the surveillance video at this point. >> also, new this morning, police are searching for gunman after a shooting victim is fawn dead in south philadelphia. philadelphia police say they discovered the victim on the 2600 block of emily street. but they think the actual shooting happened at 46th and walnut streets in west philly. anyone with information is asked to call police. >> now, police have also arrested a man who they say stabbed his grandmother to death inside of her southwest philadelphia home. the stabbing happened saturday night in the 7900 block of ceasar's place. officers found the 70 year old victim in her second floor

bedroom face down with multiple stab wounds to her arms and back. police say a witness identified the suspect. >> multi county investigation has cracked a stolen jewelry ring in the delaware valley. in court papers obtained by "eyewitness news", boo b jewelers on philadelphia jewelers row was one of four place that is was a front for a stolen burglary ring. now, investigators say, burglaries broke into 15 homes, stealing items worth one and a half million dollars. arrested friday, and court papers identify him as the middle man. jeweler down the street said he didn't see him that often. >> we know we heard he was a shady character, yes, and he was under investigation for something. >> four others charged with burglary. they've been in jail since last july. >> well, in other news, part of the south are cleaning up following weekend of devastating tornados. >> weekend storms led to at least 19 death, cutting a path of destruction from mississippi to georgia. now some areas are bracing for the possibility of a second

rounds. coming up, what president trump had to say about severe weather in the south coming up at 5:30. president trump will include a visit to philadelphia in its first full week on the job. he will speak to the gop congressional retreat on thursday. >> today the president plans to sign executive orders and meet with house and senate leadership. craig boswell is live in washington to tell us more about that. good morning, craig. >> reporter: jim, rahel, good morning to you. president trump begins his first full week in offers with a ambitious agenda, schedule packed full every meetings, some of which could be overshadowed by this weekend's statement by the press secretary. >> president donald trump capped his first weekend in office thanking law enforcement officers including fbi director james comey for their service and swearing in senior white house staffers. >> we are going to do some great things over the next eight years. >> the president's first days get off to a rough start.

on saturday, hundreds of thousands of people took part in demonstrations for equality across the nation. in a tweet, sunday, president trump took aim at those who participated, writing: watch protests yesterday but was under the impression that we just had an election, why didn't these people vote? celebrities hurt cause badly. about an hour he backtracked saying in part peaceful protests are hallmark of our democracy, tweet came day after sean pfizer slammed the press for what he called false reporting about the size of the crowd at the inauguration. >> this was the largest audience to ever witness an inauguration, period. >> on sunday, white house senior advisor kelly ann conway came to spicer's defense. >> you are saying it is a false hood. they're giving sean spicer our expect gave alternative facts. >> alternative facts are not facts. they're false hoods. >> the president enters the first full week of his presidency hoping to tackle key issues on his legislative

we are on shore watch this morning tracking a coastal storm. you can see on storm scan3, not a ton of rain right now. really the winds that will be the most noticeable. live in center city see droplet on the camera. katie's forecast coming up in just about two minutes away. >> major league baseball community is in mourning after two major leaguers are killed in separate car crashes in the dominican republicly. doils pitcher, yordano ventura and monty, killed in a crash 40 miles northwest, marte,

spent the last two seasons in south korea, killed when his jeep hit a house about 95 miles. >> what began as jewelry heist, turned deadly inside after mall in san antonio, texas. investigators say good samaritan was shot and killed trying to stop two armed men from robbing a jewelry store, it happened inside the rolling observation mall sunday afternoon. after the bystander was shot, another man pulled out a a licensed gun, shot one of the suspects. the other suspect was arrest add short time later. police say five other were injured in the commotion. well, powerful winter storms are pomeling southern california, dumping record setting rain and reaking havoc on the roads. >> take a look. rescuers pulled four people from the pick-up truck after it washed off the road, in marie etta sunday, took 20 minute to get everyone on lands, no one injured during the rescue. and that wasn't the only truck in trouble. this driver got stuck on the southern california mountain pass. take a look at the rushing waters. now, rescue worker from san

bernardino county fire battled raging current, used a raft to get the couple in the truck out safely. that is so frightening for the couple. >> quick action. while drivers dealt with pounding rain in southern california, snow, made for, slick driver in the mountain community, roads covered with several inches of snow, and ice, from the weekends winter storm forecasters say many mountain roads will be impassable, some places throughout the day and today. >> so, katie, here is my question. so we know the south has been seeing storms, and tornados, of course now we're seeing storm potentially today. is that the same system? >> it is the same system, but so often you see just totally different impact here as to what you see in the south, and certainly across the planes. just because of the way we see the storm move through, and across the country, different geography for one thing, and just the way the storm is moving. you really have major impact on t1 thing we are missing with this storm here, is the cold. so not going to have as much snow, certainly not as much snow as we saw last year, this

exact same weekend, in fact, we had between the january 22nd and 23rd, of 2016, 22.4 inches of snow fell. making it the fourth top snowfall that we've seen from any storm system, blizzards of 96, tough to beat that one, 30.7 inches fell with that one, also january storm. and taking a look, yes, just rain, folks. lifting in right now. it likely stays that way for most of us. for most of the day. there is a caveat to that, poconos specially. and maybe even the lehigh vally not only see some icing, but specially mountains, see little snow. probably on the order of one to three locally 4 inches out of this. but again there is storm continues to lift in so while it is not a heavy rain right now, you have some drizzle, you have got some fine mist, definitely got the clouds building and the wind kicking in here, as the storm itself lifts in. look at this, i mean, this is classic comma shape formation. for a mid latitude cyclone and all that means it is pretty much just textbook, in terms of what's going to do to our area.

say for the cold. how much rain are we talking? talking meteorological terms, there is general ten to one ratio. kind of depends. if you have enough dry air, light fluffy snow builds up more red limiter talking ten to one ratio with these kinds of rain and the, you would be talking potential for couple of feet of snow. ya, so don't worry, that's not what's happening, jim, but granted. if you got over 2 inches every rainfall out of this, i95 is going to easily have puddles on it, but also very lucky minor flooding. there are flood alerts to till about. coastal flood advisory down toward all of delaware, most of southwest new jersey then also coastal flood warning posted for the eastern shore lines. wind gusts currently stand, winner atlantic city, 45 miles per hour. looking at the seven day it, does get better, start things off on pretty stink i note. put it that way. but we look ahead to wednesday, meisha, look at this, finally some sunshine. >> yeah, that is going to feel so nice, especially after

foxboro. he completed 32 of 42 passes. for 384 yards, and three touchdowns in the afc title game. the patriots trounce the steelers, 36-17. brady and belichick now look for their fifth title together in the past ninth trip to the superbowl. >> a lot of hard work. only two teams left standing. i'm happy we're one of them. that's what our goal s nice to be able to achieve that. >> it was a blow out in the ffc, as women, pennsylvania charter matt ryan even better than brady. he runs for touchdown here. he also through for 392 yards, and four more scores, including this one, right here. two plays into the second half. falcons go up 31-nothing, on 73-yard catch and run by julio jones. the falcons smack the packers 44-21, and it is atlanta's second trip to the superbowl. ryan says, fun to get this far, the work is not done.
