day, still left with scattered showers, still left with additional wind. the kind of wind we saw yesterday. thankfully not. but here on storm scan, yes, local level, showers to track at this point. we have certainly seen our fair share of heavy rain and even some snow up in the mountains. now that is pretty much moving it way up into new england, more of their concern, at this point, but still dealing with those after effect. so coastal flood something still a concern. as we had mentioned, jan had mentioned moment ago, that coastal flood warning still in effect until 11:00. high tide cycle continues to winds down this hour. >> because of the fact that we will need the water to drain somewhere, that coastal flood warning will stay in effect. thankfully the coastal flood worries over at that point as winds begins to shift little bit here. but current wind speeds, at worse into the teens, dow think you could see them as high as 20-mile per hour today sustained, gusts no higher than 30, how much, so that's far cry from the frigid conditions we saw yesterday because of the 60 and ooh mile

a serious story, as high tide now pushes in to ocean city, it hit right around 5:30 this morning. and since we are still under that coastal flood warning, moderate flooding could be out here today. it is easy to see, right in the back bay area, that that is exactly what we are experiencing. whether we first arrived here on scene, right around 4:30 this morning, we were couple of blocks further closer to the bay, pushing back, just to be out of the water and be safe this morning. this is what we are experiencing. still areas underwater, even after this storm has really pushed through. if you take a look at this video, you can she cape may county has been dealing with over the past 24 hours. yesterday, they had that drenching rain, and that whipping wind. some point experiencing wind gusts that exceeded 60 miles per hour as cathy has been saying, that wind has died down now, but we are still experiencing this last concern, this high tied this morning. "eyewitness news" was down the shore all day yesterday morning, noon, night, tracking this storm, we stopped in spots like avalon, stone

harbor, wildwood, ocean city, we saw many of the same things. a lot of localized flooding, street underwater, now, fortunately, at this time of year, the people down the shore tend to be those all year around residents. so they do know how to deal with these winter nor'easter's, some even embrace it, and some folks have a way of getting around it. take a listen. >> i'm used to it now, going on four years. >> most people know when the floods are at, like pacific avenue, it is real flooded there. you know? you just got to do what you got to do. >> were you going to surf in the street? >> yes, paddle out. i usually do it every storm when there is high tide. and just really sick. >> ya, he usually takes his surf board out in the back bay area. but yesterday he said he didn't really get enough of localized flood to go do that, unfortunately, we do see the waters are rising this morning, again, as the last high tide of concern comes in. fortunately, there is not widespread power outages, at

least not here in ocean sit, new jersey, this morning. but, because of the flooding concerns, this morning, ocean city school district is on a two hour delay. it is just one of the hands full of school district delaying school openings because every these concerns. of course, weaver complete list at cbsphilly.com. we are reporting live in ocean sit new jersey this morning. jan carabeo, cbs-3, "eyewitness news", rahel, jim, back into you. >> thanks for the update. >> weather turned deadly in hunting park philadelphia. fifty-nine year old man was killed when high winds brought down a large sign at an used car lot. >> and across the city in south philadelphia, a huge tree narrowly missed homes along the 1,000 block of east my minute sing avenue. one man's car took the brunt of the crash. >> the tree did hit the car. but it just sort of dented the hood. cracked the front windshield. could have been a lot worse. >> also, some cars outside of hahnemann were damaged when high winds caused a portion that far collapsed, of that mural you just saw in the video to collapse.

charges against beatrice ruiz include murder, arson and wreckless endangering. the rowhouse fire on september 24th trapped wilmington fire lieutenant christopher leach and senior firefighter jerry fix in the basement. senior firefighter died last month. >> and staying in delaware now, deadly police involved shooting remains under investigation this morning, in wilmington. this happened at a home on the 1700 block every west 13th street around 6:00 yesterday evening. police tell us officers were responding to armed man behaving irradically. when officers tried to approach him, he became disturbed, and an officer fired gun, fatally shooting the man. no officers were hurt. >> still ahead in this morning's health watch. another incentive to lose weight, we'll have updated list on which cancers are linked to obesity. >> plus, severe weather in california leads to dramatic beach rescue. what women were doing before they ended up in the ocean. >> and the cool new technology that's taking fire fighting to whole new level. see how firefighters are

took rescuers about 40 minute to reach the women. >> i tried to get her to stand up. and she couldn't. and then she like fell, and i fell with her, and another wave came. and hit us. and i ran back out to try to save the second one. but she got too far away. and the waves got real big. >> now the rescuers did manage to save the second woman. later hospitalized but are expected to be okay. >> meanwhile, video caught the moment a rogue wave crashed into the first floor window of a restaurant in california. the waves completely flooded out the first floor. the restaurant has since been stripped of it carpet, and de humidifiers running to remove excess water. the damage left behind estimated cost anywhere between ten to $15,000. >> it seems on the west coast they're getting hit with severe weather, east coast we're getting hit with severe weather. katie looks like it is starting to move snout. >> at least the latest storm is, in fact, a loft storms, they just go across country. they end up here. and they bring millions of people different set of impacts on their way.

what we're dealing with a accident involving a tractor-trailer. ninety-five north, northbound side, near allegheny avenue. that will right lane is compromised so heads up on this, a loft flashing lights, even though the northbound side will slow you down, even pushing in the southbound side, probably see the flashing lights, i hate to say this, but will get gaper delay moving in the southbound direction. snow will slow you down little bit. so take a lock at this, 95 northbound, between the vine and woodhaven road, will take but 15 minute right now. so whether moving in the northbound or southbound side of 95, i would just give yourself extra time, especially if you are moving in the northbound side. then in marlton new jersey we have snapped telephone pole, route 70 westbound near cropwell road. good news one lane now opened on the westbound side so do you have alternates to follow. we have so much more to cover. when we come back, stay right where you are, cbs-3 "eyewitness news" will be right back.

the day is it as bad as yesterday? absolutely not. very much a far cry from that. on storm scan, still finding that rotation take place. you can see how the precipitation itself even rotating around, with the just the departure of the storm. so, while still going to find some lingering showers, maybe even light wintery mix in the poconos, warranter g winter weather advisory to be extended until 65:00 p.m. by the way, this is a very, very far cry from yesterday. in addition to the winter weather advisory, we also still have the coastal flood warning, now, extended until 11:00 this morning, up and down all of the jersey shore lines, save for salem county then also save for new castle county but even through the delaware bay still going to have coastal flooding for the next couple of hours as those waters begin to recede from the last high tide. meantime current temperatures are as such. right around freezing in mount pocono. so again, cold enough to support some icing. even though, you may just find nothing but couple of showers, still chill and raw outside. winds are definitely lighter. but, north wind, in january, at 14, 15 miles per hour, yes,

eastbound, all lanes are open. and surprisingly, we look over to the westbound side, you can see traffic moving. police have decided to open up one of those lanes. which is definitely unexpected, as crews are still out here, working on those power lines, that came down yesterday. but, this area, one of several in our region, dealing with storm damage. the impact of strong storms felt across the region monday. in hunting park it, turned tragic. a 59 year old man died, after strong winds ripped a sign off of a building, at car lot, and pinned him between two cars. >> can't believe the guy got killed with that. i can't believe it. >> in center city, a large chunk of a mural on the side of hahnemann hospital came crashing down, onto two parked cars. >> it sounded like an explosion. >> over in south philadelphia, the storm brought down a huge tree, and knocked out power along with it. >> this is the fourth or fifth tree in about seven, eight years, on this block, all ancient maples from when the neighborhood was developed.

but it does look like service is back to normal this morning. strong winds knocked down power lines, near linden, new jersey union county stranding thousands of amtrak ride earls. the shutdown affected two of the garden state busiest lines, northeast regional rail, acela express trains. >> new jersey transit was also forced to cancel trains yesterday afternoonment take a look at these pictures, taken by commuters after heavy rains flooded the tracks at hoboken train station. now trains are back up and running, but, new jersey transit says customers can still expect to experience some delays during this morning's rush. well the first 100 days of the president trump's administration are underway, and today will be crucial for his campaign promise to keep jobs in america. the president will meet with the ceo's of gm, ford, and chrysler at the white house, many of the president's cabinet picks are also up for votes on capitol hill this week. including ben carson, and nicky haley. president trump already overturning regulations president obama put in place to help homeowners. just one hour after taking office, the president suspend add plan to reduce government

gave us leg up in terms of food costs and we were able to incorporate infrastructure we have here in philadelphia and some of the overhead helps minimize our costs. and then the most important piece of this was to take philadelphians and get everybody else involved. we had kick start campaign. which we raised the rest of the funds, and help get the restaurant open. now that we are open, up and running, we will take 100% of the profits and then donate that, turn around, give that right back to broad street ministry. >> in case people don't know, you guys are all under the same umbrella with federal donuts? >> correct. all cousins, brothers and sisters in here. makes it easy. synergy amongst the companies. everybody helping each other out. erin will touch on that when she talks about the smoked moos a ball soup. >> this is all your idea what you are saying? >> wish i could take credit for this one. >> this was my partner steve cook came to us years ago, hey, we have all of the chicken, let's make suppan donate it to broad street ministry. and he went to them. they were like we love that. that's wonderful gesture. however, our business model is
