his plans. his sweeping executive orders are likely to dominate his agenda as he meets with congressional republicans in philadelphia. >> beginning today, the united states of america gets back control of its borders. >> among them, a directive to jump start the construction of a wall along the u.s./mexico border and add more border patrol agents. congress would have to initially fund the $10 billion project but in an interview with >> the mexican precedent immediately fired back saying his country will not pay for the wall. >> we are going to get the bad ones out, the criminals and drug dealers. >> he faced pushback from politicians in so-called sanctuary cities after ordering

hotel. the final bodies were recovered from the hotel. the search effort lasted a week. the landslide that followed four earthquakes buried the hotel in italy. nine people were pulled out ali alive, but criminal investigation is under way because rescue was delayed. this morning the dow opened at a record high. the dow closed 'above the elusive 20,000 mark for the first time yesterday. strong earnings and reports and gains by financial companies lead the way. mr. trump said he's proud in that the business world loves him. firefighters in washington state are battling a massive fire at an apartment complex that's being built. the fire broke out in lynwood north of seattle. no one was living in the buildings, but a nearby

apartment complex was evacuate. two firefighters sustained nonli nonlife-threatening injuries. mary tyler moore is being remembered by fans and colleagues for her grace and being able to make her laugh. moore died yesterday at the age of 80. ben tracy has a look at her life and career. >> reporter: her name was a bit longer than most, but in the 1970s, she only needed a one-world introduction. >> mary. >> mary. >> mary. >> reporter: she was born in brooklyn in 1956 and began her career in the 1950s in commercials as happy hot point. her big break came from carl reiner who remembered her as the girl with three names and cast her on the dick van dyke girl. >> it was like being in the college for comedy.

one said they hoped to get under the president's skin. well, social media sites have become the battlefield in the fight over president trump's ideas. his campaign pledge to register all american muslims brought this tweet from former secretary of state madeleine albright. i was born ee pcatholic, raised episcopalian and later learned i was jewish. i stand by everyone. >> her message, americans must keep her door open because children just like his are suffering. >> reporter: this 7-year-old is taking her message of peace to the new american president. in an open letter written just days before the inauguration, she implored president donald trump to help young victims back in her homeland. she wrote, they're suffering because of adult people so can
