route 40. you will have to use an alternate. route 40 or route 47 is one can be your best and also a reminder delaware river bridge, it is closed, do you have use scudder falls bridge, burlington bristol bridge irks even on a friday those bridges will be very show, you guys, and plus construction, route one both directions between trenton and morrisville bridge, perry street, that's going to slow you down if you are using that alternate. by the way left lane blocked there. more to come from the auto show, more back to you. >> thank you, meisha. well, it is a final day of the republican retreat in philadelphia. and protesters plan to return to the streets. >> "eyewitness news" reporter trang do is live outside of the loews hotel where president trump was met with demonstrators yesterday afternoon. good morning, trang. good morning, jan, jim, still security measures in place down here outside of the hotel. take a look. you see the barricades, still up in place, as well as a few police officers on scene outside of this hotel. no where near the level of

security that was here yesterday with president trump's visit. that's when protesters started early, continue throughout the evening, and those demonstrations were mostly peaceful. there was some vandalism last night. take a look at the videoment someone spray painted three police cars parked at 13th and arch near the loews hotel, and at the wawa at the corner every broad and walnut, also a sign thrown at them. overall, police estimate some 3,000 protesters took to the streets yesterday, many spoke out against republican efforts for the affordable care act without a viable alternative. >> i'm a person, a cancer survive over, avenue pre-existing condition, i'm not on fire, i'm not a building, i'm person. i think it is really important for our law makers to realize they're dealing with people's lives. and they don't seem to care. >> now yesterday police reported no arrests, but did have one civil citation. meanwhile, protesters are planning to take to the streets again today at 11:00 a.m. they'll be outside of

30th street station where the rest of the republican lawmakers are still here for the retreat will depart in buses and head on into the station to head back to washington. we want to send them a final message before they leave philadelphia. but for now, live from center city, i'm trang do, cbs-3, "eyewitness news", jim, jan, back to you. >> meanwhile the president also g knighted new controversy here in philadelphia. his take on the city's crime rate came under fire. >> just look at the 30 largest cities in the last year alone, the murder rate is increased by an estimated 14%, here in philadelphia, the murder rate has been steady, terribly increasing, and then you look at at chicago. what's going on in chicago? >> that is why we will continue to stand with the incredible men and women of law enforcement. >> well the philadelphia police department's crime statistics posted on their website say that so far this year there have been 27 murders, that is updated

through january 25th, 37% increase in homicides compared to this time last year. however, in 2016, there were 277 murders in philadelphia, that's down three, from 2015, when there were 280. >> now, philadelphia mayor jim kenney responded to president trump's comment, in a statement saying in part: our homicides are in fact slowly declining. now while we are not satisfied with even our current numbers, we are handicapped by republican refusal to enact any kind of common sense gun control and by their obsession with turning our police officers into ice agents. >> president trump welcomed, will welcome, british prime minister theresa may to the white house today. she is the first international leaders to meet with the new president. yesterday, like the president, she was in philadelphia to address republican lawmakers at their congressional retreat. may emphasized the importance of the relationship between britain and the us. >> the world is passing

judge looking at flames in indianna, unclear how the fire started last night, but officials say it looks suspicious, no electricity connected to the wooden grand stands there. they were the oldest of their kind in the state. no injuries were reported. well, nasa is honoring three fallen astronaut, 50 years after a tragedy on the launch pad. on january 27th, 1967, astronaut gust, ed white, roger chappie, died in a flash fire during a test aboard their apollo one spacecraft. the fire led to the safer spacecraft and non-flammable space suits. some residents in cheltenham, township are still without water after a sinkhole opened there. the earth gave way wednesday morning. crews say the white truck that was sitting dangerously close

just get ready for cooler, weather pattern moving back into our forecast for the next several days. nothing terribly cold showing upment look at the air temperatures, actual numbers 40 up in the lehigh valley, 43 in philadelphia, 39 in millville. that's about the coldest spot we can find at this hour. so there is no arctic air in place, but the wind still look little bit, windchill values below freezing. feels like 39 in allentown, feeling like 35 in philadelphia and wilmington. so you will need the heavier coat outside. a lot of snow showers well to the west. couple of those could get into the poconos today. that's it. for us, across most of the delaware valley, just partly sunny skiesment look at the temperatures for the weekend. pretty typical for the middle of winter. actually above average, 45 for the high saturday. we keep it dry. still breezy. sunday some clouds around, less windy, with temperatures in the low 40's, and the extended forecast for the most part, pretty quiet. little weak system moves in on monday, bringing clouds, temperatures in the upper 30's, then by wednesday, that's your next storm system, see chance for some light rain
