icon mary tyler moore, who passed away on wednesday at the age of 80. she gave us television magic for six decades. the beloved television icon passed away wednesday at age 80, surrounded by friends and her husband of over 33 years, dr. robert levine. in a statement to "e.t." her longtime representative remembered her as, quote, a groundbreaking actress, producer, and passionate advocate for the juvenile diabetes research foundation. mary will be remembered as a fearless visionary who turned the world on with her smile. moore, who long suffered from diabetes, died at greenwich hospital of cardiac arrest after suffering from pneumonia. her health had been declining in recent weeks. fans paid tribute to her on hollywood's walk of fame, and late this week producers rushed to include her in the in memoriam segment at this sunday's s.a.g. awards. mary received a standing ovation at the event five years ago when she was presented with the life

3-year-old noah continues his cancer treatment. >> my prayers are out to him. for me, the way i'm trying to do the best job i can here and put together a beautiful story and a beautiful video for him. >> for derek, the story behind the video is personal. ♪ >> my grandfather passed away last year. you know, the last couple years, they danced every single morning together, my grandma and grandpa. they danced every single morning to the same song, and it was a ritual they did every time. even the night before he passed, they were dancing together, and then he passed away that night. but for me, that was like the beautiful story of just like everlasting love right to the end. that's kind of what i want to tell a story with this video was just that, you know, everlasting love. >> you're going to make any cry, derek. you're not going to make me cry. that was one of the sweetest stories i ever heard. it got me right here. of course the video will be out zwruft in time for what? you guessed it, valentine's day. up next, why we can't stop

welcome back, everybody. the movie a dog's purpose opened in theaters this weekend as scheduled, just as the investigation got under way into claims of animal abuse during filming. kevin frazier got the movie's human star, dennis quaid, to address the controversy for the first time on camera. >> i want to ask you. everyone has seen the video. what was your experience with the animals on the set? >> my experience is that the animals were treated great.

there was no animal abuse on the set and that video that someone took and sold for money and held on to it for a year and a half until right before the film was coming out does not tell the whole story because i've seen all the footage. it's edited and manipulated, and i think it's a scam to tell you the truth. >> quaid calls the footage, which was obtained by tmz, completely out of context. the website says it did not edit the footage, but published it as it was obtained. it appears to show two moments a german shepherd first resisting going into the water and another where the dog is submerged. >> the dog was acting like a dog who was kind of tired of taking a bath. and was ready to get out. and in fact, that's what happened. they took the dog out. and then the guy spliced it together and made it look like

they sent him in there anyway or forced him in, which didn't happen. i never saw abuse of any animal. if there had been, i would have walked. >> we met with a team of executives of the production company behind the movie and they showed us ten minutes of outtakes. they said in order to give us more context. we saw the dog jumping into the water without hesitation over and over to perform a stunt. it also shows the dog going underwater, but it never shows anyone pushing him into the pool. there was also a team of safety people nearby. now, amblin wouldn't allow us to show up the video because according to the company, there are still several internal and external reviews in progress. we also spoke to the producer, who wishes the dog's head would have never gone underwater. >> as soon as the dog resisted, after one second they should have stopped. the dog's head was covered for four seconds. that should not have happened, but the dog was fine. if they let the video run, you would see that the dog got out, was fine, and the dog is fine

today. let's move on and go to the bachelor. this certainly had people talking this week. corrine basically solidified her place in bachelor history and this season's biggest villain, but she also did something else that had the bachelor nation going crazy. stepping out with diamonds on that finger. you know we got the story behind that ring. >> oh, my god. sorry, guys. >> here's the pick. corrine clearly flashing that diamond sparkler to the camera while pozi posing with an instagram comedian. fans wanted to know if it was an engagement ring from bachelor nick. "e.t." found out the truth. >> it was the comedian's ring. they did it as a spoof. >> so no show spoilers here. this is just corrine stirring the pot once again. something these been doing since the show's premiere. >> you're a trouble maker. >> i know. >> but corrine's mom is defending her daughter's actions say she's proud of her.

>> she wanted to do this, and she went out and did it as elegantly as she did. a couple people may have taken some things wrong, but she was just larger than life. >> we saw more of that personality come out on a group date to nick's hometown where all of the ladies were forced to get their hands dirty with one exception. >> i don't know how to do chores, let alone farm chores. >> and "e.t." was in new orleans for nick's solo date with rachel. >> things are starting to heat up a little bit. >> every moment keeps getting better and better. >> nick didn't disappoint by throwing her a parade. >> i saw you guys kiss. how do you feel like it went? >> feel like i -- this is the best date i've ever been on, ever. i'm 31, so i've been on a number of dates before. but this was fantastic. >> clearly these two only had eyes for each other despite being surrounded by at least four cameras, a dozen producers, and hundreds of fans eager to snap a photo.

welcome back, everybody. you know, mary tyler moore was a force in front of and behind the camera. as a matter of fact, our "entertainment tonight" stage sits on what used to be the mtm studio lot where she produced shows like the bob newhart show, rhoda, and lou grant. but one of mary's favorite projects was a 2002 reunion of all the ladies from the mary tyler moore show. this is a rare look at mary at work. it was 2002, and mary had gathered her former co-stars together to reminisce about their groundbreaking show. mary had a very hands on approach and wanted this special to be special. >> i wanted to have a sense of who the people are, who the people who played those characters are. >> the day we were there, it was the sisterhood of the mary tyler moore show. the female cast reunited and the love was all around. they rarely got to see each other. >> i live in new york, and most
