first a check on weather and traffic with katie and meisha. >> good morning, vine just cleared, closed overnight for the construction. just now cleared. but the good thing roadways are nice and dry. a lot of construction out there. so i guess everyone will be asking about the roadways. >> we have a little clipper system moving through. also, i would caution you, let me know if you see anything in your field cameras, we a squawl yesterday, if it did stick to the road surface it, will have iced over. so hopefully minor problem. but be cautious of that. meanwhile take a look outside from the pocono camera. yes, looks like they're making their own snow. snow itself hasn't actually reached this area just yet. up at jack frost, big boulder where they definitely have nice little base goes going on here for this year. but we are expecting a fresh round of mother nature's own snowfall here, as the day goes on, another one to 3 inches will likely fall in this area. let me show you why. we go back it the storm scan shot here, locally nothing has gotten underway.

cold enough itly straight up snow at least initially before the temperatures have chance to rise. not talking about much accumulation out of this, one to 3 inches for the poconos, for the rest every us, i don't think it accumulates much, will certainly not much if any at all. twenty-seven the current temperature at the airport right now. eventually going to reach to about 41 degrees or so, and that's generally when the precipitation is set to arrive here. so as a result, calling for rain or snow shower, but again, very minimal, if any accumulation expected out of that. down the shore, mainly dry. might see renegade shower of rain or even snow there, too, but if you are looking for any accumulation, all be it very light, do you have head north, folks. periods of light snow in the poconos today. meisha. >> katie, thank you for that. and good morning, everyone, looking at the ben franklin bridge. looking good, push in the westbound direction toward center city, still dark out, still early, just now cracking into the 5:00 hour. this is when we start to see just very subtle changes, and that's if we have dry roadways, right now for the most part, most part, we do,

this morning man with a cane is a kansas city hero. take a look. watching city bus camera footage that far mangan beating a attacker his cane, according to the transit company a man boarding the bus got into an argument with a female driver, then the violent passenger began to beat her. that's when the good samaritan with the cane stepped in. the driver is expected to be okay. >> well there is massive pile up outside of harrisburg left one person dead, and nine others injured. that crash happened on busy interstate 83 in southern york county. as you can see, multiple tractor-trailers and other vehicles were involved and traffic was snarled in both directions. officials have in the yet said what caused the crash, but a passing snow squawl may have been a factor. >> couldn't really see anything that was the problem. snow squawl happened, fog, next thing i know, there was a truck right in front of me. couldn't stop. hit the brakes. doing about 35 or so. hit the brakes. i just slid. no stopping.

and then a gentleman hit me on the side with his car, ran into me. >> now, while police have in the yet identified the victim, they do confirm that he was driving one of the tractor-trailers. >> meanwhile, a mud slide out in california reaks havoc in the hollywood hills. >> hillside gave way, sending mud and debris tumbling down, smashing into three homes. the landslide also damaged power lines, leaving several hundred homes in the dark. officials say one house was left dangerously close to the edge of the hill, rescue teams now working for any victims who still may be trapped. >> you may have built amazing snowman or two in your day, but we bet it didn't look as incredible as this one, this is jab a da hut snow sculpture, in duluth, minnesota by school board member there. created a scup tour outside of his house each year since 1987. in the past used snow to mount mount rushmore, alienees wonderland, king kong. >> very impressive. we didn't have quite enough snow to make sculptures, but snow squawl did move through part of the area yesterday

not even set up, moving as fast as it did yesterday. certainly moved very quickly toward our area, central pennsylvania, currently, seeing some of the first signs of life on the radar, from this system. now, not talking a lot of snow out of it, but let me wack you through youth future weather. jump you up to 7:00 a.m. that's when snowflakes will begin across our far western counties here, berks, northwestern lancaster, flies north here into the lehigh valley maybe montgomery, lehigh valley, but specially the poconos, see how you see these periods of light snow this is 1:00 p.m. even while many of us really just see some sunshine, some clouds, i do think you'll see rain or snow shower here in the city. but primarily confined to the north. so, don't expect much of anything across delaware or southern new jersey, and at worse a rain or snow shower in the city. looking for accumulation, you got to go up that northeast extension here, guys, one to 3 inches every accumulation is the sex peck takes in the poconos, precipitation will get here no later than 8:00, 9:00, but slow and slick

this is picture of someone sent to us few blocks away. the actual fire is burning near second and market. we've gist learned that the builds something six story apartment building, we are told no injuries reported. that is good news. the fire is now again at two alarms, also causing several detours in the area, as firefighters battle this blaze. we will take you to the scene as soon as our crew arrives. meantime, we will be right back.
