live from the cbs broadcast center in philadelphia. this is cbs-3 "eyewitness news". right now at noon, two student arrested after a loaded gun is brought on to the property after delaware county school. police say two, 17 year old boys could face charges as adults good afternoon, i'm jim donovan, rahel is on assignment. joe holden live at the upper darby police department with more on this dangerous discovery. joe? >> good afternoon, to you, upper darby school officials describe what happened this

morning, as very concerning, 12th grade student this he say brought 9-millimeter loaded handgun on to the bus, road the bus to school, police say tried to bring that gun into the high school building, now, that gun was in a box, according to investigators, police say that 12th grader tried to hand off the gun, to 11th grader on the bus with him, we're told the 11th grader then got into a scuffle with officers, one of the officers we're told was cut on the forehead. both the 11th grader and 12th grader are 17 years old. police say they're now working on charging both as adults, school officials say they learned about the student may have been armed, through a rumor, school police were waiting for him at the door. >> loaded 9-millimeter, was loaded with a clip and two rounds in it. >> police say that 12th grader

girl at the school. she faces several charges including institutional sexual assault of a minor. we willing following this story and more on "eyewitness news" later today starting at 5:00. >> meanwhile, philadelphia police are looking for this female suspect, they say she was involved in a violent assault yesterday in the city strawberry mansion section. we're told the suspect, and four or five other feel males, jumped two other women, and during the fight police say the suspect, who is believed to have been pregnant, pulled out a knife and stabbed one of the victims. if you know this woman, you are asked to contact police. well, philadelphia police are also looking for several people involved in the abduction after woman in port richmond last night. police received a tip the woman would be kidnapped as she left work on the 2400 block of aramingo avenue. undercover officers saw two men forcing the 25 year old into the back of her car. officers chased the car, until the driver lost control, and crashed. police arrested one man, but the others got away.

>> the reason she was targeted is because she may be related to or know people that were involved in other serious crimes in the area. that's the initial information we're getting. >> police are looking for three to four other suspects, investigators say, this group may also be responsible for a number of home invasions in the area. the woman, fortunately, wasn't hurt. >> a philadelphia jury has decided that a charity is among those responsible for the market street building collapse in june of 2013. the deadly collapse killed six people and injured another 13 when a towering wall from demolition project next-door to collapsed on to the salvation army thrift store. after a five month long civil trial, the jury decided yesterday that the salvation army, the owner of the building being demolish, the architect and contractors were currently in prison, all to blame. the jury had return to court on friday to decide how much

lava from the volcano. these images shot yesterday as the volcano continue to erupt. you can see it spouting right out. the volcano directly lava right into the ocean. authorities say these lava flows fortunately pose no threat to the nearby community. >> looks like ribbon almost. >> it does. >> craze. >> i does your weather forecast pose a threat to nearby communities? >> not of lava flow. we are looking pretty quiet overall for the next couple of days, specking cool down as we head out and b temperatures will get more seasonable in the days ahead, see them drop off more so as the days progress, so with that said, that doesn't mean you will have to break out the heavy winter coat. today tech anily above average, flirting with 50 in a lot of spots, but factor in the wind it, makes it feel little colder. outside, show you waist going on here, we start thing off in one of the field cameras, outside we go to live look from hotel bethlehem. you know we have got the flags in the for grounds there.

they are not waiving all that foe fusely herement. but there is a breeze. show you more of that as we move forward in the forecast here. but there is at least a little sunshine. out there, little bit of it, mixture of clouds and sunshine in northampton county, pretty much everywhere else, we will show now second on storm scan, next to palmyra cove nature park, overlook the delaware river, center city in the distance, yes, mixed bag of clouds and sunshine, temperatures certainly 46 degrees here, wind out of the west southwest, 11 miles per hour. meanwhile we are finally ushering in the month of february. i want to give you little preview on how a tip february would shake out. this is when the average starts to go up throughout the course of the month. we start to rebounds, we are still in what's typically in most average, anyway, in terms of the colds he is part of the year, here, about 41 degrees, the average high for this day of the year. forty-seven is where we end up yet in terms of averages by the end of the month. already flirting with 50 today. so again, take all of those numbers, average them out.

snowiest month also february, where we end up with shy of 9 inches of snow, on typical winter, i have a feeling punxsutawney phil will see a tough time seeing his shadow. how are we doing with sunshine as it pertains to philadelphia in so far only measured half foot. last year was one big storm at the end of january, to bring us much of what we had for the entire year. or the entire season, i should say. but on average, we would end up with 2 feet worth of snow. so we have some catching to up do here. meanwhile i don't see any signs of any snow any time soon. until we hit the weekend, pretty quiet. a lot of this precipitation is, in fact, not hitting the grounds, although you could see stray shower passing through the poconos because of the lake enhancement moving along i80 and north of that. much wider zoom on the nationwide map, showing us pretty quiet outlook across the nation as a whole. there aren't any large systems at the moment getting their act together.
