12:17 pm
she had her panhandling on the street. he had her stopping at gas stations, begging for money, all while he is sitting in the car. and this is after six months of him keeping her at his house, taking her out of school every day, and raping her day after day after day. >> and you also spoke with kyla's mother during this interview. what did she tell you? what was her reaction to not only this alleged abduction but the previous relationship? >> well, here's the thing. the mother talked to -- this was the father of one of her daughter's friends. and she talked to him when he first asked for her to be able to come over and spend the night with his daughter. she said okay, but no boys. and he says absolutely, i agree with you, no boys whatsoever. she felt like she had done her due diligence. but the truth is this is a cautionary tail. we absolutely have to know more about our parents, about who we turn our children over to, whether they are parent, teachers, coaches, whatever. we've got to do a deep dive
12:18 pm
and find out who we are exposing our children to. >> and indeed doctor phil fill, a lot of parent will be warning, so will we, thank you. cautionary tail. and you can see doctor phil today of course and every day, right here on cbs-3. well it, has been what many have been waiting for, punxsutawney phil's grand hog day prediction,. >> now as punxsutawney phil showing his face to the crowd, famous groundhog saw his shade owe, party in punxsutawney has been going on for 130 years, guess phil has been right 39% of the time. ill a stick with katie. why dough people keep waking me up in the morning? >> the party before he actually was pulled out, poor

thing. >> stop it already. going to feel like winter today and the next couple of days. >> daytime high, 40's, already feeling pretty chilly outside, and factor in the winds out there, too, definitely makes it feel that much colder, but, tomorrow's when we start to see significant temperature drop, take effect here, and we will be stuck, guys, into the 30's, mid 30's, no less, for couple of days, also, little bit of snow, down the road. why not throw that in while we're at it? speaking of snowy did see a few flakes flying, live look for you at jack frost big boulder, and i did see couple of flakes flying here in the last couple of minutes, but, i don't feel like i see anything right now. we have seen couple of passing flurries, snow showers up in the poconos over the course of the last couple of hours, really, sort of been rolling on through lake enhanced. but i did see handful of skiers out there, as well. looks like things are quiet
12:20 pm
for the time being. up next we go, live neighborhood network where at the moment you can see, the center city skyline in the distance, just little hazy. but what i really want to show you was the for grounds here, delaware river, obviously, and you can really see the turning going on when a gust picks up, get the current going, 45 degrees, the temperature there. here's what it feels like, though, when you tack tore in that win, it is knocking you back to the upper 30s at best for feels like values, so do you have to factor the winds back in here, maybe you have yet to leave the house, trust me, be ready with a heavy winter coat despite where we're finding sunshine, not really making it feel that much milder. meanwhile, let's talk future wind gusts briefly here. into the 20's, for the next couple of hours, with no problems, so any time those winds are gusting to the 20's again does make it feel that much colder. but his is becoming a pattern. it is a theme for us, even headed into tomorrow. where you are still going to
12:21 pm
be finding wind gusts peaking in the 20's, begin to ease up little bit into the second half of tomorrow. but for the rest of today, as well as tomorrow, still featuring breeze, meanwhile here on storm scan3 at least finding quieter conditions, no lake enhanced snow showers certainly, and couple of clouds because of that, no major storms in site now. can't necessarily be said out west, see rain pushing into california, now some snow into the nevada, utah, idaho, into the central rocks in general. the snow falling there. we will eventually get in on fresh round of snow come sunday, but for now, let's focus on the cold that's coming, jet stream dips to the south, allowing it to set until for the next couple of days, dow expect next mid week, the combination of warming trend will get underway. we are going to remain awfully chilly here, nothing terribly atypical, but awfully chilly for the next couple of days, sunday is the day that the snow and rain showers move in, generally afternoon and evening, scattered in nature, i don't think you're shoveling anything away, but you could so some slick travel out of.
12:22 pm
>> this with that said, let's back it up, talk about what the rest of today has in store, 46 degrees with gusts still peaking as high as 25 miles per hour, then later tonight we drop down to 24 degrees under cup ill of clouds. meanwhile we move forward in this forecast, expecting to see temperature eventually, again, drop off tomorrow, much colder day, there is a little groundhog, winging at you, isn't he cute? all right. look forward to saturday. again, cold day, sun still shining, sunday the next round every light snow showers come through. and you know, i don't think it is going to cause any major headaches, but if you find yourself on the roadways sunday afternoon or evening, could be little dicey. >> thank you, kate. >> i good news. >> great question: do you have a sweetheart you plan on spoiling this valentine day? it could land in you dent if you're not careful. >> according to the national retail federation, americans expected to spends an average $136.57 this valentine day. that he down about $10 from last year. at the top of the big spenders
